Abstract

This study was conducted in the Incoming Inspection department of PT XYZ, a garment manufacturing company, and was motivated by the increasing percentage of nonconforming 18L button materials, which rose from 1.30% in 2023 to 2.25% in 2025. This condition highlights the importance of identifying and controlling risks in the material inspection process. The study aimed to identify potential risks, determine risk priorities, analyze their root causes, and propose improvement measures for the 18L button material inspection process. A descriptive-evaluative case study design with qualitative and semi-quantitative approaches was employed using the Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) methods. Data were collected through direct observation, company documentation, and FMEA assessments conducted by three purposively selected respondents. Risk assessment was performed using the Severity, Occurrence, and Detection parameters, followed by the calculation of the Risk Priority Number (RPN). The results identified ten potential process risks, with three priority risks: undetected hairline cracks or broken buttons (RPN = 360), unidentified color differences (RPN = 336), and undetected blocked buttonholes (RPN = 210). The RCA results revealed that these risks were primarily associated with inspection procedures, visual reference standards, lighting conditions, and inspection aids. Based on these findings, several improvement proposals were developed, including the standardization of inspection procedures, refinement of work instructions, provision of inspection aids, and the development of a poka-yoke concept to improve the consistency of the Incoming Inspection proces.

Abstract

Bandar Lampung City still faces limitations in the provision of Green Open Space (RTH) which has not met the minimum requirement of 30% as mandated in Law Number 26 of 2007 concerning Spatial Planning. This condition encourages the need to optimize the function of city parks through the implementation of the green infrastructure concept as part of efforts to realize a sustainable city. This study aims to identify the infrastructure conditions in Kalpataru Park and Dipangga Park. The study used a mixed methods approach with qualitative descriptive analysis. Data were obtained through field observation and documentation. Descriptive analysis was used to identify existing conditions, and Likert scale analysis was used to measure stakeholder perceptions of environmental, social, and economic aspects. The results showed that Kalpataru City Park has been equipped with various supporting facilities, such as a plaza, jogging track, pedestrian path, children's play area, public toilets, irrigation system, parking area, and security post. Meanwhile, Dipangga Park still has limited facilities, especially in the aspect of jogging track, permanent children's play area, public toilets, retention pond, irrigation system, and park management post. In general, both parks have the potential to support the implementation of green infrastructure, but improvements in facilities and management are needed, especially in Dipangga Park, so that ecological, social, and economic functions can run more optimally and Kalpataru City Park shows a more optimal impact in supporting the concept of green infrastructure compared to Dipangga Park because it has more complete facilities and a higher level of utilization. Nevertheless, both parks have an important role in supporting the realization of a sustainable Bandar Lampung City through improving environmental quality, strengthening community social functions, developing local economic activities, and providing public spaces that support community welfare.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the relationship between urban drainage capacity and flood inundation potential on the deterioration of residential environmental quality in Southeast Aceh Regency. This associative quantitative research combines channel hydraulic discharge availability analysis, inundation vulnerability mapping, and the Residential Environmental Quality Index (REQI) evaluation. Primary data were gathered through physical surveys of drainage channel geometry, field observations of inundation depth and duration, and structured questionnaires distributed to 150 household heads across three flood-prone residential areas in Kutacane, Southeast Aceh Regency. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression techniques and spatial evaluation. Results reveal that the existing drainage capacity can only accommodate 58.4% of peak rainfall runoff, directly triggering inundation potentials ranging from 20 to 60 cm with durations up to 5 hours. Statistical testing proves that drainage capacity and inundation potential, both partially and simultaneously, significantly affect residential environmental quality (R^{2}=0.612,p\lt 0.001). Inundation impacts linearly accelerate local road infrastructure degradation, lower environmental sanitation, and increase environmental-based disease risks. Research recommendations highlight the necessity of eco-hydrological integrated drainage system improvements to enhance the environmental carrying capacity of residential areas in Southeast Aceh Regency.

Abstract

Improving energy efficiency and productivity is essential for enhancing competitiveness in manufacturing industries. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of implementing a Mitsubishi HG-SR102 servo motor on electrical-to-mechanical energy conversion, energy consumption, Specific Energy Consumption (SEC), torque and rotational speed characteristics, and the productivity of the Super Absorbent Polymer (SAP) Sheet unit in a baby diaper production machine. A comparative method was employed by analyzing machine performance before and after servo motor implementation using energy consumption, SEC, torque, rotational speed, mechanical power, and productivity parameters. The results showed that total energy consumption decreased from 5,587 kWh to 3,705 kWh, while SEC decreased from 0.314 to 0.307 kWh/pc (2.41%). Machine productivity increased from 494 to 503 pcs/h (1.79%), and energy productivity increased from 3.18 to 3.26 pcs/kWh (2.47%). At a line speed of 600 PPM, the servo motor produced a torque of 0.480 Nm, a rotational speed of 516.2 rpm, and a mechanical power output of 25.95 W, indicating stable operation under high-speed conditions. The implementation of the servo motor improved both energy efficiency and machine productivity.

Abstract

Prolonged computer use combined with poor ergonomic working postures may increase the risk of Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs) among office workers. This condition was identified among employees of the Quality Assurance (QA) Division at PT. XYZ, who use computers for approximately six hours per day. This study aimed to identify MSD complaints, analyze ergonomic risk levels using the Rapid Office Strain Assessment (ROSA) method, and propose ergonomic improvements for employees' workstations. A quantitative approach with a descriptive research design was employed involving 17 respondents selected using the Slovin formula. Data were collected through observation, documentation, the Nordic Body Map (NBM) questionnaire, and workstation assessments using ROSA. The results indicated that the highest prevalence of MSD complaints occurred in the back (18%), lower back (11%), right shoulder (10%), right wrist (8%), and left shoulder (7%). All workstations (100%) obtained ROSA scores ranging from 5 to 9, indicating a high ergonomic risk level. Therefore, workstation modifications, the provision of ergonomic work facilities, and the implementation of ergonomic posture education and regular stretching exercises are recommended to reduce the risk of MSDs while improving employee comfort and productivity.

Abstract

Reference standards are comparative materials used to ensure the accuracy of pharmaceutical product testing. However, the use of reference standards represents a substantial cost component in laboratory operations. At the Quality Control Laboratory of PT XYZ, the analysis of Clopidogrel products requires a reference standard cost of IDR 58,734,000.00 for a single testing procedure. This study aimed to analyze the effects of storage temperature and storage duration on the stability of Clopidogrel reference standard solutions, evaluate their compliance with the established acceptance tolerance limits, and determine the potential cost efficiency that could be achieved. An experimental method was employed using a Design of Experiment (DOE) approach combined with Analysis of Variance (ANOVA). The investigated factors included storage temperature, consisting of room temperature (25 ± 2°C) and refrigerated temperature (4–6°C), as well as storage duration at weeks 0, 2, 4, 6, and 8. The response variable was the chromatographic peak area obtained using High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC). Stability was evaluated based on an acceptance tolerance limit of ±5% relative to the initial peak area. The results demonstrated that storage temperature, storage duration, and the interaction between these two factors had a statistically significant effect on solution stability (p < 0.05). Based on the tolerance limit evaluation, storage under refrigerated conditions exhibited superior stability compared with room temperature and remained within the acceptance criteria throughout the storage period. The proposed storage condition enables more efficient utilization of the reference standard solution, reducing the reference standard cost from IDR 58,734,000.00 to IDR 23,493,600.00 per analysis. This approach results in a cost saving of IDR 35,240,400.00, corresponding to an overall cost efficiency of 60%.

Abstract

Post-disaster aid logistics is frequently affected by fragmented data, mismatches between needs and availability, distribution delays, and weak accountability. This study integrates a systematic literature review (SLR) and a proof-of-concept (PoC) to examine how blockchain can support data governance and aid traceability. Articles published in 2020-2025 were retrieved from ScienceDirect and Scopus, selected using PRISMA principles, and synthesized thematically from 31 eligible studies. The synthesis identified coordination and information alignment, along with traceability of goods, funds, beneficiaries, and delivery status, as the dominant issues. Frequently reported mechanisms included distributed ledgers, smart contracts, audit trails, cryptographic identities, and role verification. These findings were translated into a Solidity-based smart-contract PoC on a local Ganache network covering requests, stock, allocation, shipment, receipt validation, and event logs. Three synthetic scenarios and an access-control test showed that valid transactions were recorded, over-allocation was rejected, receipt discrepancies were flagged, and unauthorized operations were reverted. Blockchain is therefore better positioned as an infrastructure for data governance and transaction validation than as a standalone solution to all disaster-logistics problems.

Abstract

Hexapod robots used in the Indonesian Robot Contest (KRI) have relied solely on ultrasonic sensors for obstacle detection, resulting in measurement errors on inclined surfaces that caused navigation failures. This study aims to implement a compass sensor navigation system on a hexapod robot and to determine its success rate in traversing inclined obstacles. An experimental method was used, employing the accelerometer and magnetometer of the LSM9DS1 IMU on an Arduino Nano BLE 33 to compute Pitch and Yaw angles, integrated with four ultrasonic sensors and fuzzy logic processed on an ESP32 microcontroller to control 18 servo motors. Calibration produced stable Offset and Slope values for both sensors. Accuracy testing showed a Pitch error of 0.27° on an inclined surface and 0.75° on a flat surface, with Yaw repeatability of 0.03°–0.18°. The ultrasonic sensors achieved 0 cm error in six of eight readings. Fuzzy logic testing achieved a 66.7% success rate (4 of 6 scenarios), with the two failures traced to a decision-layer program gap rather than the fuzzy rule base, and subsequently corrected. The system improved the hexapod robot's ability to traverse inclined obstacles compared to the previous ultrasonic-only approach.

Abstract

This study analyzes the effect of heat-treatment temperature before Quenching on the microstructure and hardness of a Silicon-Manganese (SiMn) alloy. The specimens were subjected to heat treatment at 700°C, 800°C, and 900°C, followed by rapid cooling using water as the Quenching medium. Microstructural observations were carried out using a metallographic microscope, while mechanical properties were evaluated using the Micro Vickers hardness test in accordance with ASTM E384. The average hardness values were 738.00 HV at 700°C, 650.33 HV at 800°C, and 714.33 HV at 900°C. The 700°C specimen exhibited relatively fine martensitic microstructure with an indication of a small amount of ferrite and produced the highest hardness. The 800°C specimen showed a different microstructural distribution accompanied by the lowest hardness. At 900°C, grain growth tendency and coarser martensitic morphology were observed, while the hardness increased again but remained below the 700°C condition. The results indicate that the relationship between heat-treatment temperature and hardness is not linear. Microstructural morphology and grain size contribute to the mechanical response after Quenching. Within the tested temperature range, 700°C produced the highest hardness, while the 900°C condition showed a tendency toward coarser microstructure. These findings provide a basis for selecting heat-treatment parameters for SiMn-based engineering components.

Abstract

The increase in the volume of plastic waste in Indonesia, which reaches approximately 64 million metric tons per year, coupled with a still-low recycling rate, underscores the need to repurpose High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) plastic waste into products with both practical and economic value. This study aims to design and fabricate a laboratory-scale hexagonal injection molding die as part of an effort to convert recycled HDPE plastic waste into decorative products, as well as to analyze the molding process and evaluate the quality of the resulting products based on their shape, dimensions, and surface condition. The research methodology involved several stages concept selection using the Pugh method, detailed product design, determination of the planning basis and selection of machine components, structural strength analysis of the mold, and the fabrication and testing of the mold on an injection molding machine. The results of the study show that the mold design developed using low-carbon steel with three cavities is capable of producing hexagonal products in accordance with the design dimensions, namely a hexagonal size of 50.00 mm with a mold depth of 5 mm, as well as a material capacity of 29.24 grams for the three cavities. The molded products demonstrated geometric conformity with the initial design, although the surface quality still showed a level of smoothness that was not entirely uniform and has the potential for further improvement through process parameter optimization in future research. This study is expected to serve as a reference in the development of laboratory-scale injection molding designs and to support efforts to manage HDPE plastic waste into products with both practical and economic value.
