Abstract

The use of Indonesian in the advertising discourse of the TikTok social media platform is adjusted to the language speakers. This study examines 1) the form of language, 2) the purpose of advertising discourse and 3) its use as open material for Indonesian. This method uses a qualitative research method with a descriptive design, because the data used is in the form of oral discourse. The object of this study is language variation in advertising discourse. The data collection technique uses the listening technique, the researcher listens to the advertising discourse on the TikTok social media platform and then notes each oral discourse that contains language variation. The data analysis technique uses the referential matching method. The data validation technique uses data triangulation. The results of the study show that the form of language and the purpose of the advertisement discourse are: 1) Indonesian and Javanese, 2) Indonesian and Balinese, 3) Indonesian and English, 4) Indonesian and Korean, 5) Indonesian and Japanese, 6) Indonesian and Italian, 7) Indonesian and Javanese and English, 8) Indonesian and Minang and Korean, 9) Indonesian and Japanese and English, 10) Indonesian and French and Italian and English and Japanese, and the purpose of the advertisement discourse is: 1) attracting attention, 2) attracting interest, 3) changing actions.

Abstract

Recently, Tiktok has been widely used by netizens to express sympathy to each other, especially on unpleasant event. This research is based on how people interact in Tiktok regarding domestic abuse happenstance. This study aims to describe the politeness strategies used to express sympathy speech in the video of a domestic violence case on TikTok and the social factors influencing politeness strategies. This type of research is descriptive qualitative. The data source comes from a Tiktok video with the account name @ilham. art59, containing news videos related to domestic violence experienced by a woman named S (initials) located in Makassar. There were 30 data samples of expressions of sympathy taken from screenshots in the Tiktok video comment section. This study uses the theoretical approach of Brown & Levinson's politeness strategy and sociopragmatic theory. The results show that the expression of sympathy in the video of domestic violence cases on Tiktok uses two politeness strategies: positive politeness and off-record. There are 6 forms of positive politeness strategies: sharing life experiences, encouraging, giving prayers, expressing sorrow, advising, and appreciating. People tend to use positive politeness strategies more than off-record strategies in expressing sympathy for victims of domestic violence. Three social factors influence politeness strategies: the situation and context of the event that triggers sympathy, the close relationship between netizens and victims of domestic violence, and collective community interaction. The research provides insights into social interactions on social media, particularly in expressing sympathy, and contributes to sociopragmatics studies.

Abstract

Learning to write drama texts is a learning that requires students to develop creativity, critical thinking skills, and language skills. The objectives of this study are (1) to analyze the effectiveness of learning to write drama scripts through a productive creative model assisted by short film media based on learning styles in grade XI high school students, (2) to analyze the effectiveness of learning to write drama scripts through a productive creative model assisted by short story text product media based on learning style in grade XI high school students, (3) to analyze the differences in the effectiveness of learning to write drama scripts through creative models Productive with the help of short film media and short story text product media based on learning styles in grade XI high school students. The design of this study is a simple factorial design with two experimental groups. The sample of this study is the learning of drama text writing skills for students in grade XI of SMA N 1 Bantan and SMA N 2 Bantan. The results of this study are (1) learning to write drama texts with a productive creative model assisted by short film media is more effective in students with an auditory learning style, (2) learning to write drama texts with a productive creative model assisted by short story text product media is more effective in students with a visual learning style, (3) learning to write drama texts with a productive creative model is more effective using short film media based on auditorial learning style.  The findings in the research show that learning to write drama texts with a productive creative model is effective in using short film media based on auditory learning styles rather than short story text media based on students' learning styles. This research can be used to improve the quality of education and the quality of Indonesian learning.

Abstract

Character Education values are positive values that are instilled in society, one of which is in the film Inthiq Rasmiyyatan! The purpose of this research is to find character education values in the boarding school in the film Inthiq Rasmiyyatan! because many educational values are instilled in this film. The researcher implements structuralism theory that looks at the intrinsic elements in literary works with educational values. The type of research used is qualitative research with data collection techniques using free listening techniques. The data analysis used hermeneutic technique. The results of the research found that there are educational values in the form of hard work, curiosity, discipline, honesty, environmental care, social care, friendship, and respect for achievement. From this research, readers can find out the caracter education value of boarding school in the short film Inthiq Rasmiyyatan!

Abstract

The novel "Perempuan yang Menangis kepada Bulan Hitam" addresses the theme of sexual harassment experienced by a female character named Magi in a village in Sumba, which is rooted in a tradition called "kawin tangkap" or "yappa mawine." The aim of this study is to identify the types of sexual harassment committed against the female character in the novel "Perempuan yang Menangis kepada Bulan Hitam" by Dian Purnomo. The approach used in this research is feminist literary criticism. Data collection in this study is carried out using heuristic techniques. The collected data is then analyzed using hermeneutic techniques. The data in this novel consists of words, phrases, and sentences that contain information related to the research problem, extracted from the novel under study. The results of the research show that the sexual harassment experienced by the female character in the novel occurs both before and after marrying the perpetrator. The types of sexual harassment faced by the female character include gender harassment, seduction behavior, sexual bribery, sexual coercion, and sexual imposition.

Abstract

The aim of the research is to describe the symbolic violence contained in the short story anthology SAIA by Djenar Maesa Ayu. Data collection was carried out using heuristic techniques and content analysis techniques by listening and noting the required parts in the text. The data in this research are words, sentences, sentence fragments, paragraph fragments which are classified using data cards to be analyzed using hermeneutic techniques. The results of data analysis show that there is a structuration of power which is manifested in the form of capital, class, habitus and arena.

Abstract

The objective of this study was to determine the influence of the Kahoot application on students’ learning achievements in the Indonesian language subject of modern poetry text material for class VIII at SMP Sinar Husni. In this study, the researcher used a quantitative research method with an experimental research type with a quasi-experimental design. This type of research involves the application of a specific treatment or manipulation of an independent variable (X) to examine its causal effect on the dependent variable (Y). Quasi-experimental research is a type of research that aims to test the causal relationship between variables but does not use random assignments to form experimental and control groups. The results of this study clearly prove that the use of Kahoot evaluation media has a positive and significant effect on the learning outcomes of class VIII students at SMP Sinar Husni, especially on the material of modern poetry texts in Indonesian language lessons. A significant increase in the average posttest score in the experimental group using Kahoot, as well as support from the results of statistical tests (normality, homogeneity, and hypothesis testing), indicate that Kahoot is more effective than conventional evaluation methods. In addition, students’ positive responses to the use of Kahoot, as reflected in the results of the questionnaire, indicate that this platform is able to create a more interesting and motivating learning atmosphere. Therefore, Kahoot has proven to be an effective innovation in overcoming student boredom and encouraging increased learning outcomes on previously less popular materials.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the influence of animation media on the ability to write short stories of class X students. In the quantitative method, the researcher used Quasi Experimental research with the type of Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The researcher used two groups consisting of an experimental group that was given treatment using a problem-based learning model and a control group that was not given treatment/conventional. The results of this study were obtained from the results of the pretest and posttest. The purpose of the pretest is to determine the learning outcomes of students before learning using animation media. While the purpose of the posttest is to determine the learning outcomes of students after learning using animation media. Implementation and application of the results of the pretest posttest in the experimental and control classes. This study shows that the use of animation media has a significant influence on improving the ability to write short stories in class X students. Based on the results of data analysis, it was found that students who learned using animation media showed a higher increase in learning outcomes compared to students who used conventional methods. This is proven through valid data normality and homogeneity tests, as well as hypothesis tests (t-tests) which showed significant differences between the results of the pretest and posttest, especially in the experimental group.

Abstract

The aim of this research is (1) to explain the types of directive speech acts, (2) to explain the function of directive speech acts, (3) to describe the effect of directive speech acts in the Indonesian streaming television series entitled Santri Pilihan Bunda. Data collection was carried out using the listening method and note-taking technique. Data analysis used pragmatic analysis with pragmatic matching techniques and distribution techniques. The presentation of the results of data analysis used the infotmal method. The results of the study were speech in the Indonesian streaming television series entitled Santri Pilihan Bunda by Angling Sagaran. Based on the type of speech act in directive speech, direct speech acts, indirect speech acts, literal speech acts, and non-literal speech acts were found. Based on the function of directive speech acts, directive functions were found which include the functions of ordering, requesting, prohibiting, advising, inviting, taking action, accusing, criticizing, stating, allowing, rejecting, and conveying. Based on the effect of directive speech acts, the effects of directive speech acts included positive and negative effects. Based on the dominance of the type of directive speech act that was most often found, directive speech acts were indirect speech acts, the dominance of the most common function was the directive speech act of the requesting function and the dominance of the most common effect of directive speech acts was the positive effect.

Abstract

In recent years, women in Indonesia have experienced various forms of discrimination and harassment. This not only happens in real life but also happens in literary works. So, it is necessary to look further or examine the efforts made by women or women's resistance to overcome these problems. This research aims to reveal forms of women's resistance in the novel "Perempuan yang Menangis kepada Bulan Hitam" and the novel "Perempuan yang Menunggu di Lorong Menuju Laut" by Dian Purnomo. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative using feminist literary criticism theory. Data sources were obtained from the entire contents or chapters of the two novels. Data collection techniques use reading and note-taking techniques. The technique for validating this research data is triangulation. The results of the analysis show two forms of women's resistance. Namely resistance in the form of thoughts and resistance in the form of actions. The results of the study are expected to provide knowledge to readers regarding women's resistance in literary works with feminist studies, as well as Indonesian language learning, especially literary teaching materials, and in the field of education.
