Abstract

This study aimed to: (1) describe the influence of cooperative learning model of TPS type and cognitive style toward the students’ learning result on Biology subject of the XI grade Science Program at MAN 2 Model Palu. This study applied quasi experimental method. The population of this study engaged 108 students which were administered into four classes. The sample for this study were selected through the implementation of random sampling technique, thus there were two classes selected with 48 students involved. The data collected in this study was the post-test scores which were analyzed through inferential statistic method. The data analysis drew on two-way Annova. The result of the analysis showed that: (1) The cooperative learning model of TPS type has contributed a significant effect toward students’ learning achievement. This model has surpassed the Direct Instruction model, (2) Cognitive style has significantly influenced toward students’ learning achievement. Students with field independent cognitive style have a higher learning achievement rather than those who were with field dependent cognitive style, (3) the interaction between learning model and cognitive style has no significant effect on students’ learning achievement. This has proved that learning model and cognitive style has functioned independently.

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the effect of learning model and learning motivation on studets’ learning achievements in mathematics. This research was conducted at SMAN 2 Palu using a quasi-experimental design with factorial 2 ´ 2. The independent variable in this study is learning model and learning motivation. The dependent variable is the students' mathematics learning achievements. Instruments used in the form of learning motivation questionnaire and achievement test. These samples students of class XI-IPA taken using random sampling techniques. Analysis of data using analysis of variance two-lane. Results showed (1) there is a significant difference the mathematics learning achievements of students between who are taught trough active learning model and direct learning; (2) there is a significant difference the mathematics learning achievements of students beetween high learning motivation and student learning achievements learning motivation is low; (3) there is an interaction between learning active learning model and learning motivation of students; (4) specifically for low motivation students who are taught by active learning model mathematics learning achievements was higher than students taught with direct learning; (5) specifically for high motivation students who are taught by active learning model mathematics learning achievements was lower than students taught with direct learning; (6) specifically for active learning model students who have high motivation to mathematics learning achievements higher than the students who have low motivation, and (7) specifically for direct learning model students who have high motivation to mathematics learning achievements higher than the students who have low motivation.

Abstract

The aimed of this Research to describe the effect of: (1) Students’s prior knowledge toward the science achievement; (2) emotional quotient toward the science achievement; (3) learning motivation toward the science achievement; and (4) prior knowledge, emotional quotient, and learning motivation toward the science achivement at class VIII of SMPN 3 Parigi. The population of the research was the students at class VIII of SMPN 3 Parigi registered in 2014/2015, consisted of 50 students. The sample of the the research was overall of the population member (saturated sample). The collecting data used multiple choice test to measure the student’s prior knowledge and questionnaire to measure emotional quetiont and student’s learning motivation. The data were analyzed by using double linear regression analyses with SPSS-17. The research findings indicated that there were significant effect between (1) prior knowledge toward the science achievement, (2) emotional quotient toward the science achievement, (3) learning motivation toward science achievement, (4) prior knowledge, emotional quotient, and learning motivation toward the science achivement at class VIII of SMPN 3 Parigi.

Abstract

The study aimed to improve motivation and learning outcomes in science subject by implementing of group investigation learning model base on scientific approach was conducted on even semester in academic year 2014-2015. The research was classroom action research by 2 cycle. Each cycle consists of 2 meetings. The stage of each cycle are planning, action, observation, and reflection. The study result showed that learning motivation before action stage was 74% (good category), cycle I 84.03% (still in good category), cycle II 91% (excellent category). Another result was learning outcomes, it has average score 64% before action stage, in cycle I 71%, and cycle II 84%. The completeness level of classical score, before action stage was 43.3%, cycle I 87%, and cycle II 100%. Base on the result study could be concluded that implementation of group investigation learning model base on scientific approach in science subject can improve motivation and learning outcomes.

Abstract

This research aims to find out the role of stakeholders in the development of forest park tourism and formulate a strategy to optimize the development of forest park tourism in Ngata Baru Village, Sigi Biromaru Subdistrict, Sigi District. The sample was taken through the purposive sampling technique. The data were collected through survey and interview activities with a list of questions (Questioner) then analyzed using SWOT and stakeholder analysis. The results of the research show that the role of stakeholders divided into 3 groups, namely the first group is the subject group which consists of PKL and forest farmer who have high interests, but have low influence in the development of forest park tourism, the second group is the key player group which consists of Department of Forestry, UPT TAHURA and Department of Tourism which is the most important stakeholders in developing forest park tourism, and the third group is crowd group which consists of the village government and motorcycle drivers who have a very low role in the development of forest park tourism. From the results of the SWOT analysis, the forest park tourism included in the First Quadrant on the SWOT diagram, while the alternative strategy used is SO (Strength and Opportunities), with the consideration that forest park tourism have a lot of natural potential and large to be developed, but has not been utilized optimally, for that in developing forest park tourism must create a strategy by using strength to take advantage of opportunities, namely by: a) Managing the potential of the tourism object owned ( beautiful natural panorama, cool and pristine, abundant water sources and a comfortable atmosphere of a tourist attraction) with regional autonomy which gives regional governments authority to manage the potential of their respective regions; b) Increasing security at tourist objects in order to maintain comfort and attract more visitors to come to these attractions; c) Innovating products and tourist attractions, such as providing water play facilities, viewing posts and tourist trains; and d) Maximizing the distance to tourist objects that are close to the city to facilitate the accessibility of visitors, as well as to easily attract private investment.

Abstract

One of the major problem for fishermen of Tolo Bay water in optimizing the utilization of the fish resources is the difficulty in determining potential fishing grounds. The fishing area is very much determined by the distribution of oceanographic parameters, in particular the distribution of sea surface temperature and chlorophyll-a concentration. The aim of the reaserch is to estimate the fishing ground using integrated sea surface temperature and chlorophyll-a distribution image data from Aqua-Modis Level 3 Satellite and Seades 7.2. The Reseacrh was conducted using GIS-based Remote Sensing Method and Field Survey through in situ measurement (ground check) as validation data. Satellite image data in the form of sea surface temperature distribution and cholorophyll-a were analyzed using ArgGIS 10.2 software. Recorder sea surface temperature and cholorophyll-a image data were obtained from National Institute Of Aeronautics and Space (LAPAN) as well as data from observations at 10 station. The results of research on estimating potential fishing ground in the water of Tolo Bay based on the distribution of sea surface temperature and cholorophyll-a concertractions are integrated in the fishing ground zoning in July with nine coordinate points.

Abstract

This research aims to find out the growth of leguminosae tress on the different ex- Poboya soil mediums. It was conducted for three months since March until July 2019 taken a place at the Permanent Seedbed of BP-DAS Palu-Poso, Tadulako University by means of completely randomized design with plot split model which the leguminosae trees as main plot consist of Leucaena leucocephala, Sesbania grandiflora, Indigofera zollingeriana, Adenanthera pavonina and soil mediums as sub-plot include not contaminated, tailing, and contaminated soils as well as those medium types each mixed with compost. The results show that the interaction of leguminosa species and soil mediums presents obvious effect toward the diameter growth. Leucaena leucocephala and uncontaminated soil mixed with compost has better growth for 4,2 mm. The type of (Leucaena leucocephala) gives the best result while not contaminated soil mixed with compost conributes the best influence for all growth parameters of sampled leguminosa trees.

Abstract

Research problem was lack of information regarding reproductive disorders that cause failure of artificial insemination and factors causing level and stages of reproductive failure of Donggala cattle. Therefore, the objective current study is to explore information of reproduction insemination failure on the stage of ovary and estrus abnormalities that influence the success of artificial insemination and factors causing reproductive disorders in Donggala cattle at each stage of reproduction. This research was a descriptive study carried out in Sindue sub-district, Labuan sub-district, Central Banawa sub-district and South Banawa in Donggala Regency which lasted from July to November 2016. The study used 121 samples of Donggala cattle belonging to the local farmers group. The cattle samples were cows that in dry period, not pregnant, not lactating and not in an estrus state. The variables of this study are reproductive disorders including anatomical ovarian abnormalities (ovarian hypoplasia, persistent corpus luteum) with rectal palpation approach (direct palpation) and abnormalities of estrus (subestrus, disguised estrus, anestrus) with observation. Fertility variables were non rutern rate (NRR) and conception rate (CR) as the focus on the success of Artificial Insemination (AI). Research variables showed that the percentage of reproductive disorders was much lower with NRR and CR values ​​than normal ovarian values ​​higher than AI evaluation results. The conception rate of the first AI results in Donggala cattle with normal anatomy and ovarian function was 95.6% (87/91 head). Furthermore, ovarian hypoplasia was 9%, (2/22 head), whereas persistent corpus luteum did not occur conception.

Abstract

Candlenut agroforestry is the priority land management belongs to the Palolo community, especially in Sigimpu Village and Bakubakulu Village, Sigi Regency. The communities give more and more their attention because the monoculture has showed vulnerability to climate change and global warming. Adopting candlenut agroforestry in land management could be optimized under condition of good community readiness supporting the management system. This study aimed to measure the level of community readiness in the management of candlenut agroforestry in the villages and compare the level of readiness. Community Readiness Model (CRM) is used by taking into account six dimensions and nine levels of readiness. In between of two components, 35 questions based on the dimensions were made. Three respondents were selected representing each community group in the villages by which has four community group each. The results of the CRM analysis show that the level of community readiness is at the initiation level for Sigimpu Village with a value of 6.1 while the level of preparation for Bakubakulu Village is 5.9. In candlenut agroforestry-based forest management in Sigimpu and Bakubakulu Villages there are differences in two dimensions, namely community knowledge with 6,5 and 6,0 of readiness values and resource dimension with 5,8 and 5,2 of values. Thus, the level of community readiness in the study area is in the intermediate level.

Abstract

Tarsius is one of the endemic species of Sulawesi found in various habitat types, namely primary forest, secondary forest and transition secondary forest. This study aims to observe habitat characteristics and estimate the population density of tarsiers (Tarsius dentatus) at Resort II Baturube Morowali Nature Reserve area, North Morowali District. Observation of habitat characteristics uses a Porposive sampling by using the plot line method and estimation of population density using thepoint count method. The results of studies showed that the tarsier habitat began at a height of 312-163 masl with slopes of 4-25%. Habitat temperature ranges from 20.3˚C-29.5˚C and air humidity ranges from 80% -98% while the light intensity that enters the tarsier habitat ranges from 200-3500 lux. Retrieval of data on vegetation components found that tarsier habitats many occupy bamboo and ficus sp. The highest important value index for the three types of tarsier habitat at the tree level is Ficus insipida (Moraceae) (98.36), pole level Pseudolmedia sp (Moraceae) (107.2), sapling level Protium sp (2) (Burseraceae) (70.8), and seedling levelPandanus sp (2) (Pandanaceae) (91.01). The highest Tarsier population density was found in transition secondary forest habitats with a population density of 2.17 individuals / ha, in secondary forests of 1.95 individuals /ha and in primary forests of 1.17 individuals / ha.
