Abstract

The aim of this research is to identify the diversity of bacterial types and determine the prevalence value of these bacteria on the carapace of C. amboniensis from natural habitats to support the provision of data that can later be used to support captive management activities and conservation actions C. amboniensis was collected manually and 20 individuals were obtained, samples were caught in December 2019. Data from bacterial identification was then used to calculate the prevalence of bacterial diversity. The identification results showed that there were 7 types of bacteria, most of which were Gram negative bacteria. The prevalence values were then calculated to obtain the results of A. caviae (5%), C. jejuni (30%), C. freundii (15%). ), F. breve (25%), L. monocytogenes (15%), P. haemolytica type A (5%), and P. alcaligenes (5%).

Abstract

The aims of this experiment were to obtain a suitable combination of planting medium and gibberelline concentration for the germination and growth of nutmeg seeds; to obtain a suitable planting medium as well as gibberelline concentration for the germination and growth of nutmeg seeds. This experiment used Split Plot Design and was arranged in Completely Randomized Design. Two factors were tested, namely concentration of gibberelline and the type of planting media. Concentration of gibberelline was ploted as main plot, with three concentrations tested, namely 200 ppm, 250 ppm and 300 ppm. The types of planting media were ploted as subplot with three types of planting media tested, namely sand, coco peat and sawing peat. Therefore, there were nine treatment combinations which each treatment combination was repeated three times. Data was analysed by using analysis of variance and followed by HSD at 5%. Results of this experiment indicated that nutmeg seeds soaked into gibberelline solution and germinated in coco peat medium produced more root numbers and higher normal germination dry weight; and the highest number of roots as well as the highest normal germination dry weight were obtained when seeds were soaked into 250 ppm gibberelline and germinated in coco peat medium. The number of roots and dry weight of normal germination on such treatment combination were 10.67 roots and 2.01 g per germinating seed. Coco peat medium was better for the germination and growth of nutmeg seeds as indicated with the highest germination rate, growth rate, length of plumula, length of roots, total length of roots as well as the ratio of plumula length and root length. The soaking of seeds into gibberelline had a relatively similar effect on the germination and growth of nutmeg seeds, except if the seeds were soaked into 250 ppm gibberelline and germinated in coco peat medium which produced the highest number of roots and the highest normal germination dry wieght.

Abstract

Palu's local variety shallots are the main commodity of Central Sulawesi. However the productivity is still relatively low. This study aims to determine the best dose of goat manure on the growth and yield of shallots in the Palu Valley variety. The study conducted in the Village of Bulupountu Jaya, Sigi Biromaru District, Sigi Regency, from September to December 2015. The study used a randomized block design arranged in factorial two factors. The first factor is the spacing of 15cm x 15cm (J1) and 15cm x 20 cm (J2) while the second factor is the fertilizer dose consisting of P1 = 0 tons / ha, P2 = 10 tons / ha, P3 20 tons / ha, P4 = 30 tons / ha and P5 = 40 tons / ha. Thus there were 10 treatment combinations that were repeated 3 times so that there were 30 experimental plots. The observed variables included growth components and onion yields. The results of the study indicate that there was no interaction between spacing and dose of manure on growth and yield on most of the observed variables. Spacing does not significantly influence growth and yield. A dose of 30 tons of manure / ha provides better growth. The best production is obtained at the use of goat manure.
