Abstract

Worm infections are a health concern in Indonesia and all other tropical nations. A number of species, including roundworms (Ascaris lumbricoides), whipworms (Trichuris trichiura), hookworms (Hookworms), Necator americanus, Ancylostoma duodenale, and Strongyloides stercoralis, are members of the Soil Transmitted Helminth nematodes. Children in elementary school are among the age groups most vulnerable to Ascaris lumbricoides. Without a clean and healthy lifestyle, an Ascaris lumbricoides infection might have major repercussions. Research on the correlation between Ascaris lumbricoides infection and total immunoglobulin E levels in primary school students is therefore required. This study uses a cross-sectional, observational analytical design. Children at Lifuleo Village's elementary schools served as the research subjects. The ECLIA method was used to assess total immunoglobulin E levels, and the Kato-Katz method was used to diagnose Ascaris lumbricoides infection under a microscope. An aberrant total immunoglobulin E level of 12.5% was observed in 42.5% of Ascaris lumbricoides eggs, according to the examination results.

Abstract

This study investigates the factors influencing the utilization of adolescent health services among school dropout adolescents in the Sakra subdistrict of East Lombok, Indonesia. Employing a mixed-methods approach, the research combines quantitative data from structured questionnaires with qualitative insights gathered through in-depth interviews. A total of 37 school dropout adolescents, aged 14-19 years, were purposively sampled to participate in the study. The findings from this study underscore the multifaceted factors influencing school dropout adolescents' access to health services in the Sakra subdistrict of East Lombok regency. The six predictors highlighted the importance of knowledge, family support, distance, the role of health professionals, and the recognition of health needs in shaping adolescents' engagement with health services. Addressing these interconnected factors through a comprehensive approach can promote health equity and improve the overall well-being of school dropout adolescents, contributing to healthier communities in the long run.

Abstract

Nurses' compliance in carrying out hand hygiene is very important because infection and disease transmission can be caused by health workers who are not compliant in carrying out hand hygiene every time they carry out health service actions. Health workers' compliance in carrying out hand hygiene both before and after carrying out procedures for providing health services can be a problem that must be considered due to various factors that are closely related to compliance in carrying it out. This research was conducted to analyze factors related to health workers' compliance in implementing hand hygiene at the Peulumat Health Center, South Aceh. The design used is descriptive correlation with a cross sectional approach. The total sample was 80 health workers. Data was obtained by interview using a questionnaire. There is an influence on attitudes with results (p 0.003) and length of service (p 0.002) the availability of hand hygiene facilities (p 0.000) which influences the compliance of health workers in implementing hand hygiene at the Peulumat Health Center in South Aceh. Based on statistical tests, it was found that factors that can influence the health of workers in carrying out hand hygiene consist of attitude, length of service, availability of facilities for carrying out hand hygiene. The implication for recommended services is that supervision and motivation of health workers need to be increased to carry out hand hygiene in accordance with recommendations. The research implication is that it is hoped that there will be research with a larger sample size, involving other people as researchers and using video.

Abstract

Background: One of the factors that can affect treatment adherence in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus is glycemic results, if glycemic control is poor then the implementation of treatment compliance can be a motivation for glycemic control. Purpose: This study aims to determine the relationship between treatment adherence and its impact on glycemic control in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus in the Klatak Health Center working area in 2024. Methods: This study used a cross sectional design with purposive sampling and a sample size of 35 respondents. Data collection using the MTAQDM questionnaire (modified treatment adherence questionnaire in DM patients) and observation sheets and then analyzed using the spearmen rank test. Results: All patients (100%) were in the adherence category following treatment adherence activities and almost all patients (97%) were in the diabetic category. Based on the results of the analysis obtained a P-value of 0.628 (p>0.05) which means that there is no relationship between treatment adherence and the impact of glycemic control, with a correlation of 0.085 which shows a correlation with very weak strength. Conclusion: Respondents who adhere to treatment adherence do not affect their glycemic control and adhere to treatment but HbA1c is not controlled, because many factors can affect it.
