Abstract

Purpose: This study explains the internalization of Islam into the organizational culture in Islamic banks.Design/methodology: BPR Syariah Maslahat Dana Syariah Nusantara in Bengkulu City was appointed as a single case study. A semi-structured interview technique has been used, in addition to direct observation and several document collections such as bank profiles, meeting minutes, photos of activities, and monthly work recaps. All data were grouped, while interviews and observations were transcribed, coded, and categorized keywords.Findings: This article shows that the internalization of Islam in organizations is carried out simultaneously through written administrative regulations. The activities are congregational prayers at Zuhr time, reading several hadiths after prayer, weekly recitations in the office, reading Yasin’s letter every Friday morning, and monthly recitations carried out alternately at employees’ homes. In addition, several forms of Islamic values are also reflected in many practices: greeting and smiling to customers, speaking according to etiquette to coworkers, and wearing clothes that conform to Islamic standards.Practical implications: We have taken best practices from the implementation of Islamic organizational culture in banks and similar institutions. The culture and values can be modified according to the existing working procedures.Originality/Value: The conceptualization of Islamic organizational culture has been a topic of discussion. However, there is a dearth of documentation regarding best practices in Islamic banking. This study aims to provide insights into the adoption of effective practices at the organizational level within the Islamic banking sector.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to use the Economic Value Added (EVA) method to detail PT Bank Muamalat Indonesia's financial performance from 2016 to 2021.Secondary data are used in this qualitative descriptive study. The Economic Value Added (EVA) method was used to detail the time series financial data for 2016 to 2021 that was distributed by PT Bank Muamalat Indonesia via its official website, www.bankmuamalat.co.id. According to the study's findings, PT Bank Muamalat Indonesia achieved an EVA value of pounds (EVA > 0) in the years 2016, 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2021. This indicates that the bank was capable of increasing revenue and reducing costs. PT Bank Muamalat Indonesia, on the other hand, was unable to support bank fees or generate economic value addition in 2017 (EVA < 0).In addition, it is possible to assert that the EVA method is more successful in calculating the bank's financial performance.because the bank's value capital is taken into account by the EVA strategy.

Abstract

The economic problems that befell Muslims today are due to our dependence on the capitalist and socialist world economic system. Muslims are in a grip too strong and hard to break away. All sides of the economy are controlled and operated by a capitalist system that does not care about the values to be considered. The capitalist economy justifies all means of getting everything. Capitalism focuses only on income and profit. This condition creates a huge gap in society

Abstract

Islamic Microfinance institutions (IMFIs) their operations are expected to not only consider financial performance, but must accommodate the principles of gender justice, because humans both men, women and people with disabilities are equally as khalifatullah fil ard to manage the earth as God wills. However, several studies show a shift in the mission carried out by IMFIs. This research aims to determine the forms of mission drift that occur at IMFIs, especially Baitul Maal Wat Tamwil in 3 districts in Central Java, District of Jepara, Kudus and Demak. These three regions were chosen because they have different levels of IMFIs development. The research results show that the forms of mission drift that occur include: (1) Differences in the accessibility of financial services based on gender; (2) Changes in IMFIs customer priorities; (3) Product changes that prioritize bankable customers; (4) Increasing of Margin, Ujroh profit sharing portion and costs; (5) Changing the focus of financing to be more profit-oriented. The implication of the results of this research is that MFIs need to mainstream gender by paying attention to the portion of financing and absorbing public funds in a Gender-equity manner by encouraging balance between the portions of men and women. Regulators need to carry out strict supervision so that their commitment to maintaining the IMFIs mission values, apart from that, stimulus to institutions that prioritize gender justice also needs to be provided.
