Abstract

Muslim society today is experiencing an impasse in moral philosophy caused by the dominance of Ghazalian metaphysics. This especially occurs through a shallowing in the process of moral reasoning due to the endorsement that all moral values are absolute conventions of God and can only be accessed exclusively through the written word and spiritual guides. As a result, Muslims tend to be blunt, passive and reactionary in dealing with social problems that are increasingly dynamic in the midst of pluralism and intensive democratization. This condition must be responded to immediately by presenting an alternative moral philosophical paradigm that can overcome the shortcomings in the dominant view available. The moral philosophical views that will be explained are those constructed by Ayatullah Muhammad Taqi Mishbah Yazdi, a great Islamic philosopher from Iran. The research method used is literature study. The research results show that his thinking places ontology as a moral foundation and harmonizes reason with revelation simultaneously. Ayatullah Yazdi's system of moral philosophy has the potential to be an important subtitute in presenting a Muslim social scientific attitude that is critical but still dialogical in facing increasingly dynamic realities.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the tafsir Al-Munīr which is one of the tafsir books that is the majority of references for the tafsir al-Bayān. This study is important as a response to the work of Indonesian tafsir and as part of the academic contribution to studying it. This study uses a descriptive-analytical method by analyzing the intertext in the tafsir Al-Munīr as a hypogram of the tafsir Al-Bayān, with the focus of the study on QS. Al-Baqarah: 3-10. The results of this study indicate that there are two elements found, namely intrinsic (inner) and extrinsic (outer) elements. Intrinsic elements, in the interpretation of al-Bayān and Al-Munīr are the themes of believers, infidels, and hypocrites. Intrinsic differences include characters, settings and plots. Extrinsic elements in the interpretation of Al-Munīr and al-Bayān are the same to provide explanations of the verses of the Qur'an to readers. There are 2 forms of intertext in the form of transformation (translating, copying, diverting), and haplology (reduction). Al-Bayān with Javanese language ngoko Latin script provides a simple, concise, not long-winded description in accordance with the target of this interpretation being taught.

Abstract

Every human being must always live with tolerance toward others, as we are a religious community living in Indonesia, a country with various ethnicities, nations, races, cultures, and religions. We must uphold the teachings of our respective beliefs without disturbing or damaging the beliefs of others. This study uses a literature review method with a descriptive-analytical approach and field research in Jelok Village, Cepogo District, Boyolali Regency. Religious moderation can be concluded as practicing a religion in a balanced way. The principles of Islamic tolerance are, first, that Islamic tolerance is limited and focuses on social relationships; second, it involves allowing and creating a conducive environment for others to worship; and third, in practicing tolerance, the purity of faith and Sharia must be maintained. Jelok Village is able to maintain harmony despite having four different religions and one different belief system within the community.

Abstract

Mosques are often used by terrorist groups to develop radical Islamic teachings and doctrines. As a gathering place for Muslims who have diverse backgrounds, the mosque should be a unifier of the people, not a divider of Muslims. This article discusses the experience of religious moderation practices in Solo with a focus on handling young people in campus mosques. By using the approach of involving campus stake holders and collaborating with campus mosque activists among young people, this study has conclusions and recommendations. namely, the mosque as the centre of community religious activities is a strategic land to become the basis for religious moderation activities, so that mosque managers / mosque takmir must promote religious moderation values such as tolerance and mutual respect between religious communities starting from the discussion of themes that are carried out to the selection of preachers in their respective mosques. In addition, the experience of interaction with the mosque by each takmir board needs to be documented or recorded as an inspiration for other mosques throughout Indonesia
