Abstract

This study investigates the utilization of construction and demolition (C&D) waste, particularly brick and concrete waste, in soil stabilization techniques for the production of sustainable building materials. Traditional civilizations laid the groundwork for soil stabilization methods, but the scientific understanding of these techniques emerged in the early 20th century. Compared to conventional construction materials, soil stabilized mud blocks offer advantages such as improved strength, durability, environmental sustainability, and cost-effectiveness. With the pressing global issue of managing C&D waste, this research explores the potential of incorporating such waste materials into soil samples sourced from nearby demolition sites. The experimental investigation involves creating cylindrical samples with varying ratios of C&D waste and soil, supplemented with different cement contents. Tests on compressive strength and water absorption properties are conducted to assess the suitability of the stabilized samples for construction applications. Additionally, the study extends to the production of concrete and stabilized mud blocks using cylindrical samples containing different proportions of C&D waste. Mechanical and physical properties of these blocks are analyzed to evaluate their performance and potential as sustainable building materials.

Abstract

Laboratory security is a very important thing to pay attention to and to create laboratory security there are many things to do, one of which is by utilizing technology to maintain the security of the laboratory because lecturers often store very important items and archives in the laboratory. Security using conventional keys or using manual keys which are widely used by teaching staff or lecturers is easily disabled by criminals. Therefore, technology is needed that can be used to increase security, one of which is fingerprint scanning. System design is carried out through designing Flowcharts, Block Diagram Systems and Data Flow Diagrams. This system was built using the C++ and PHP programming language using the Fingerprint module which has the Minutiae method available in it. When using this system, the fingerprint that is scanned will check the ID into the database. If the ID is correct and meets the requirements to unlock the door, the lock on the door will open. The output result of this system is that this system can work in real time by sending the finger ID and laboratory ID to the webserver for checking, the selenoid lock on this system can also be opened with a push button and on the fingerprint sensor there is a minutiae method for extracting and matching fingerprints. automatically.

Abstract

In the livestock industry, feeding work is usually carried out manually or using human power. Delays in feeding fish if farmers leave them for a long time can cause fish growth and endurance to decrease so that production results are unsatisfactory and harvests are delayed. Apart from delays in feeding, pond water temperature also has an important influence on fish growth. Cold or hot temperatures will affect fish production levels. In cultivating milkfish, fish growth conditions will be optimal if the temperature is 30℃ - 33℃. Unstable temperature changes can cause a decrease in water quality, even during the hatching process it can cause fish fry to die. Through this research, a tool was developed that can make the work of fish farmers easier. This tool is designed with a storage bucket as the main material and an Arduino Uno microcontroller circuit. Apart from that, this tool also uses a Thermocouple Temperature Sensor and uses 2 pump motors which function to drain and increase the flow of pond water, and this tool uses a servo motor which is used to control fish feed, this tool also uses an ESP8266 module to connect the network from smartphone to Arduino . The temperature monitoring output will be displayed on Android, users can normalize the water temperature by turning on the two pumps which aim to increase and decrease the water flow, so that the water temperature can be maintained.
