Abstract

The use of gadgets has become an integral part of daily life for elementary school children. This study aims to examine the impact of gadget usage on visual acuity among Grade 6A students at SD Negeri 149 Pekanbaru. The research was conducted from July 22 to 24, 2024, using a quantitative descriptive approach. A total of 39 students were selected through total sampling. Data were collected via questionnaires and analyzed using descriptive statistics with percentage formulas. The findings revealed that 87% of students used gadgets for extended periods, 82% used gadgets while lying down or prone, and 74% frequently watched television. In contrast, only 15% of students wore glasses as a corrective measure, and none used contact lenses. Most students relied on nutritious food consumption, such as fruits and vegetables (92%), to maintain eye health. The study concludes that gadget usage contributes to a decline in visual acuity, and this behavior warrants special attention from schools, parents, and healthcare professionals.

Abstract

The construction of the Integrated Business Service Center for Cooperatives and micro small and medium enterprises in Pasuruan City is a strategic step by the government in supporting micro small and medium enterprises. However, the project was halted for five years due to a corruption case, causing the building to be abandoned and causing state budget losses. From this background, The application of the Value Engineering method can help identify alternative architectural and material work in the continuation project of the PLUT Building construction and cost savings that can be achieved through the application of the Value Engineering method in the project.. The objectives of the research are to analyze the application of the Value Engineering method in determining alternative work and more economical material replacement without reducing the function and quality of the project, and Calculating the potential cost savings that can be obtained through the application of the Value Engineering method in the continuation project of the PLUT Building construction. The research used is empirical juridical using secondary data analysis such as the Cost Budget Plan and Work Unit Price Analysis. The analysis was carried out through systematic stages of Value Engineering, starting from the information stage (Pareto analysis and Breakdown Cost Model), creative stage, analysis, to the cost comparison recommendation stage. The results of this study indicate that the abandonment of the project from 2018 to 2025 resulted in cost escalation due to inflation of Rp 321,067,459 and asset depreciation of Rp 219,581,300. The application of Value Engineering resulted in more efficient material alternatives, such as the use of 3” aluminum frames and gypsum boards for ceilings. This recommendation succeeded in reducing the cost of architectural work to Rp. 622,155,307.53. Savings of Rp. 4,647,795.87 or 0.74% proves that Value Engineering can provide efficient technical solutions and is feasible to be applied to government construction projects.

Abstract

Urban growth often leads to increased traffic, especially in economic and social hubs. In Jombang Regency, Jalan KH. Ahmad Dahlan and Jalan Gubernur Suryo are two busy roads affected by the 2024 development of “Kuliner Jombang,” located between them, with the former serving as the main entrance and the latter as the exit. This study, based on the Indonesian Road Capacity Manual (PKJI 2023), examines traffic volume, degree of saturation, and road performance before and after the development. Field surveys recorded peak volumes of 6,027 veh/hour on Jalan KH. Ahmad Dahlan and 4,116 veh/hour on Jalan Gubernur Suryo. Saturation levels rose from 0.59 to 0.95 and 0.61 to 0.98, respectively. The results show a significant impact, with a 62% increase on Jalan KH. Ahmad Dahlan and 61% on Jalan Gubernur Suryo, indicating reduced road performance and potential congestion growth in the future.

Abstract

Code 12 on the first 2016-2019 Yamaha Aerox motorbike could indicate a problem with the throttle position sensor or the cables connected to it. If the code 12 condition continues to flash without being addressed, engine performance problems will arise which can affect throttle response and fuel efficiency. The research was carried out at the Yamaha Mataram Sakti Serang Dealer workshop with the aim of taking corrective action on the causes of the frequent appearance of code 12 on Yamaha Aerox motorbikes released in the 2016-2019 edition. The research method uses qualitative research with a case study type of research. The results and discussion show data that the diagnosis of code 12 and the corrective action taken can be in the form of a jump start technique on cables without sockets to normalize currents whose distribution is unbalanced. Meanwhile, the preventive action that must be taken is to pay attention to the magnetic current on the spool and socket cable so as not to trigger error code 12 by means of regular maintenance and service on the spool and socket. However, code 12 that appears on 2016-2019 Yamaha Aerox motorbikes and is left untreated will result in further damage to engine performance. Abstract

Kualitas udara dalam ruangan memiliki peranan penting terhadap kesehatan dan kenyamanan manusia. Paparan gas berbahaya seperti karbon monoksida (CO), amonia (NH₃), dan senyawa organik volatil (VOC) dapat menimbulkan gangguan kesehatan jika tidak terpantau dengan baik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang dan mengimplementasikan sistem Internet of Things (IoT) berbasis mikrokontroler ESP32 dan sensor MQ-135 guna memantau kualitas udara dalam ruangan secara real-time. Sistem dirancang untuk membaca konsentrasi gas berbahaya, mengirimkan data ke server melalui protokol Message Queuing Telemetry Transport (MQTT), dan menampilkan hasil pengukuran pada dashboard web yang dapat diakses pengguna. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa sistem mampu mendeteksi perubahan konsentrasi gas dengan respons cepat dan mengirim data secara stabil ke broker MQTT publik (test.mosquitto.org). Sistem ini memberikan solusi efektif dan ekonomis dalam pemantauan kualitas udara, serta berpotensi dikembangkan lebih lanjut dengan integrasi notifikasi otomatis dan sistem kendali ventilasi cerdas.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan membandingkan kualitas infrastruktur digital pada Perpustakaan dan Laboratorium Teknologi Informasi (Lab TI) FTII UHAMKA, mengingat tuntutan perkembangan TIK pada institusi pendidikan. Menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kuantitatif, 30 responden yaitu mahasiswa, dinilai melalui kuesioner skala Likert, dan dianalisis menggunakan median. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa ketersediaan fasilitas dasar di kedua unit berada pada kategori cukup (Median = 3). Namun, ditemukan kelemahan krusial pada kecepatan dan stabilitas jaringan Wi-Fi serta kondisi perangkat pendukung, yang keduanya dinilai buruk (Median = 2). Kesimpulannya, meskipun infrastruktur digital telah tersedia, kualitasnya belum optimal, terutama pada aspek konektivitas, menghambat dukungan penuh terhadap pembelajaran berbasis teknologi. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan peningkatan kapasitas jaringan dan peremajaan perangkat keras.

Abstract

The storytelling approach is a learning method increasingly used in elementary education, particularly in Islamic elementary schools (MI), to instill noble character values ​​in students. Through the delivery of engaging and relevant stories, storytelling can connect moral concepts with children's concrete experiences, thus making the internalization of values ​​more effective. This study discusses the meaning of storytelling in the context of character development, the challenges teachers face in implementing it, its positive impacts, and strategies that can be implemented to increase its effectiveness. Various findings indicate that storytelling not only strengthens students' understanding of religious, social, and national values ​​but also improves empathy, communication, and emotional interaction in learning. However, several challenges such as limited teacher competence, a lack of contextual teaching materials, and minimal family support hinder implementation. Therefore, the success of storytelling is highly dependent on teacher training, integration into lesson plans, the provision of engaging learning media, and synergy between schools and parents. This approach has the potential to be an effective strategy for strengthening children's character sustainably if implemented consistently and in a planned manner.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis respons gerak harmonik sederhana pada sistem massa–pegas dengan menggunakan metode simulasi dan perhitungan manual. Fokus utama penelitian adalah mengkaji pengaruh variasi massa dan konstanta pegas terhadap karakteristik osilasi, khususnya periode dan frekuensi. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan pemahaman yang lebih mendalam mengenai dinamika osilasi pada sistem dengan satu derajat kebebasan serta keterkaitannya dengan sifat fisik massa dan pegas. Proses penelitian dilakukan melalui dua tahapan utama. Tahap pertama berupa pengamatan menggunakan simulasi interaktif PhET, dengan mengukur waktu yang dibutuhkan untuk menyelesaikan 10 osilasi pada berbagai variasi massa dan jenis pegas. Tahap kedua dilakukan dengan perhitungan manual berdasarkan data hasil simulasi, meliputi perhitungan gaya pemulih, pertambahan panjang pegas, konstanta pegas, periode, dan frekuensi osilasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan massa menyebabkan bertambahnya periode osilasi dan menurunnya frekuensi. Sebaliknya, pegas dengan konstanta pegas yang lebih besar menghasilkan osilasi yang lebih cepat. Kesesuaian antara hasil simulasi dan perhitungan manual memperkuat kesimpulan bahwa massa dan konstanta pegas merupakan parameter utama yang menentukan karakteristik gerak harmonik sederhana.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze and compare the results of the Engineering Mathematics course exam between class A and class B in the Electrical Engineering Vocational Education Department. A comparative analysis of exam scores is necessary to identify differences in student academic achievement and to serve as a basis for efforts to improve the quality of the learning process. The research method used is descriptive statistics with a quantitative approach. The research procedure includes compiling frequency distribution tables based on score categories, creating graphs from frequency distribution data, and calculating measures of central tendency and dispersion of data. The research data consisted of exam scores from 71 students divided into two classes, namely 36 students in class A and 35 students in class B. All calculations were performed using MATLAB software and validated through manual calculations to ensure the accuracy of the results. The results showed that the average scores of both classes were relatively the same, but class A had a greater variation in scores than class B. This indicates that the academic achievement of students in class B was more evenly distributed. The presentation of the results in the form of histograms and pie charts facilitated the interpretation of the characteristics of the score distribution in each class.

Abstract

Stunting merupakan masalah gizi kronis yang mempengaruhi pertumbuhan dan perkembangan anak. Deteksi dini stunting sangat penting untuk intervensi tepat waktu. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan model klasifikasi untuk menentukan status stunting menggunakan metode Naïve Bayes. Dataset yang digunakan terdiri dari 1000 sampel dengan atribut umur, jenis kelamin, dan tinggi badan. Data diproses menggunakan RapidMiner dengan pembagian 70% data training dan 30% data testing. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan akurasi model mencapai 87,3% dengan precision 0,86 dan recall 0,87. Model ini dapat menjadi alat pendukung keputusan bagi tenaga kesehatan dalam identifikasi dini stunting.
