Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of force on the motion of objects by utilizing PhET Interactive Simulations. The main focus of the study is to examine the relationship between frictional force and mass on changes in object velocity and acceleration. The method used is a simulation-based experimental method, in which the applied force and friction coefficient are changed gradually to observe the object’s motion response. The collected data include the magnitude of frictional force, resultant force, acceleration, and graphs of the relationship between force and velocity. The results of the study show that an increase in the applied force produces greater acceleration as long as the frictional force does not exceed the applied force. In addition, a higher friction coefficient causes the object to be more difficult to move and reduces acceleration. PhET simulations are proven to be effective as a visualization medium for force concepts because they provide direct understanding of the relationships among motion dynamics variables. This study can serve as an alternative technology-based physics learning approach to support students’ understanding of force concepts. The method used in this study is a simulation-based experimental method, in which the applied force and friction coefficient are changed gradually and systematically to observe the object’s motion response. The simulation allows direct observation of motion changes without the limitations of real laboratory equipment. The collected data include the magnitude of frictional force, resultant force, acceleration values, and graphs of the relationship between force and object velocity. The results show that an increase in the applied force produces greater acceleration as long as the frictional force acting does not exceed the applied force. Conversely, an increase in the friction coefficient causes the object to become more difficult to move and reduces acceleration. These findings show a clear relationship between force, mass, and acceleration in accordance with Newton’s laws. PhET simulations are proven to be effective as a visualization medium for force concepts because they help learners understand the relationships among variables in a more concrete, interactive, and meaningful way. Therefore, this study can be used as an alternative technology-based physics learning approach to improve understanding of force concepts and motion dynamics.

Abstract

Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis pengaruh besar gaya gesek terhadap percepatan benda pada bidang datar menggunakan simulasi PhET sebagai laboratorium virtual. Lima objek dianalisis dengan massa 100 kg dan gaya dorong konstan 300 N, masing-masing memiliki nilai koefisien gesek berbeda sehingga menghasilkan variasi gaya gesek dan percepatan. Penelitian menggunakan metode analisis virtual di PhET dengan pengukuran numerik gaya gesek, percepatan, serta perbandingan dengan perhitungan teoritis menggunakan persamaan gerak Newton. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa semakin besar gaya gesek, semakin kecil percepatan benda, dan hubungan keduanya bersifat linier. Perhitungan manual, hasil simulasi PhET, dan analisis teoritis menunjukkan kecocokan data secara konsisten. Penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa PhET dapat digunakan sebagai alat bantu pembelajaran fisika yang valid dan reliabel dalam memahami konsep gaya gesek dan percepatan.

Abstract

Efisiensi proses produksi merupakan faktor kunci dalam meningkatkan produktivitas dan daya saing perusahaan manufaktur. Ketidakefisienan dalam alur kerja, pemanfaatan waktu, serta pengelolaan sumber daya dapat menghambat pencapaian target produksi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis tingkat efisiensi proses produksi serta perannya dalam meningkatkan produktivitas perusahaan manufaktur. Data diperoleh melalui observasi langsung terhadap aktivitas produksi, wawancara dengan pihak terkait, serta telaah dokumen operasional perusahaan. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa terdapat beberapa tahapan proses produksi yang belum berjalan optimal, khususnya pada pengaturan alur kerja dan pemanfaatan waktu produksi. Perbaikan efisiensi proses produksi terbukti mampu meningkatkan output, mengurangi pemborosan, serta mendukung pencapaian produktivitas yang lebih baik. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat menjadi bahan pertimbangan bagi perusahaan manufaktur dalam merancang strategi perbaikan proses produksi secara berkelanjutan.

Abstract

This study aims to apply data mining techniques to predict student graduation using the C4.5 Decision Tree algorithm in the Information Systems Study Program, Faculty of Science and Technology, Musi Charitas Catholic University. The data used in this research consist of academic records of students from 2018 to 2020, including Grade Point Average per semester (GPA) and Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA). The research method follows the Knowledge Discovery in Database (KDD) stages, namely data selection, preprocessing, transformation, data mining, and interpretation. Model development and evaluation were conducted using RapidMiner software with the 10-Fold Cross Validation method. The results indicate that Semester 8 GPA is the most influential attribute in determining student graduation status, followed by Semester 4 GPA as a supporting indicator. The generated decision tree model achieved an accuracy rate of 75.68%, indicating a good predictive performance. These findings demonstrate that the C4.5 Decision Tree algorithm can serve as an effective decision-support tool for early detection of students at risk of delayed graduation, thereby assisting academic institutions in improving on-time graduation rates and academic management quality.

Abstract

Minimarkets generate large volumes of transaction data every day that have not been fully utilized for business analysis. This study aims to design a minimarket sales data warehouse using the Kimball method and to conduct OLAP analysis using RapidMiner. The steps carried out include identifying requirements, designing a dimensional model based on a star schema, performing ETL processes, and conducting OLAP analysis. Sales data are processed into a fact table and several dimension tables. The analysis results indicate that the data warehouse can display sales information multidimensionally based on time, product, and region, which is useful for managerial decision-making.

Abstract

The rapid growth of e-commerce requires companies to gain deeper insights into customer behavior in order to enhance marketing effectiveness. This study aims to segment e-commerce customers using the Recency, Frequency, and Monetary (RFM) model combined with the K-Means algorithm. The research utilizes an Online Retail Dataset, with stages including preprocessing of 10,001 initial records into 2,311 valid data points, RFM calculation, and Min-Max normalization. The results indicate that the K-Means algorithm successfully groups customers into five clusters with distinct transaction behavior characteristics. Each cluster represents different levels of customer activity, ranging from high-value customers (Cluster 3) to at-risk customers (Clusters 0, 2, and 4). These segments serve as a basis for designing personalized product offerings and improving customer retention strategies in the e-commerce context.

Abstract

Motorcycle sales generate large volumes of transactional data that require systematic management and analysis to support business decision making. This study aims to design and implement a motorcycle sales data warehouse using the Kimball Nine Steps methodology and to perform data analysis and visualization using RapidMiner. The dataset consists of motorcycle sales data including production year, price, model, type, and technical specifications. The results show that the implementation of a star schema successfully integrates data in a structured manner and supports multidimensional analysis. Three-dimensional scatter plot visualizations reveal sales patterns concentrated on mid-aged motorcycles within the medium price range, as well as the dominance of specific models. This study concludes that the integration of data warehousing and data visualization effectively improves information quality and supports data-driven decision making.

Abstract

The Electrical subject plays an important role in equipping vocational high school (SMK) students with the fundamental electrical skills needed in the workforce. However, many students still face difficulties in understanding the subject matter, both in theory and practice. These difficulties are suspected to be caused by low learning motivation, limited facilities, less varied teaching methods, and suboptimal teacher-student interpersonal relationships. Based on these issues, this study aims to analyze the factors causing students‟ learning difficulties and to identify the level of learning difficulties in the Electrical subject at SMK Penerbangan Nusantara Ketaping.This research employed a descriptive quantitative method. Data collection was conducted through questionnaires distributed to 80 eleventh-grade students as a sample from a total population of 100 students. The research instrument was developed based on five main aspects: theoretical understanding, practical ability, learning motivation, school facilities, and teacher-student relations. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistical techniques to determine the percentages and levels of difficulty in each aspect. The results showed that students‟ learning difficulties in the Electrical subject were categorized as moderate to high. The most dominant contributing factors were limited practical facilities and low learning motivation. Additionally, many students experienced difficulties in understanding electrical components and their working principles. These findings indicate the need for improving the quality of learning through facility enhancement, more engaging teaching methods, and efforts to boost students‟ learning motivation to achieve better learning outcomes.

Abstract

Organic waste is the most common type of waste produced by the community, especially in rural areas with dominant agricultural activities. Suboptimal management of organic waste has the potential to cause environmental pollution and reduce public health. This Community Service Program (KKN) aims to improve the knowledge and skills of the Kampung Batu Dalam community in managing organic waste through education and the implementation of biopore technology and the use of Eco-Enzyme. The method used is a qualitative descriptive approach with participatory methods, including preparation, outreach, and training stages that directly involve the community. Data collection was carried out through observation, interviews, documentation, and field practice. The results of the activity showed that the community was enthusiastic about participating in the outreach and training on making Eco-Enzyme and Biopore Infiltration Holes (LRB). The implementation of this program was able to increase public awareness of the importance of organic waste management and provide an alternative waste treatment that is environmentally friendly and useful. Thus, this activity contributes to supporting sustainable organic waste management and improving environmental quality in Kampung Batu Dalam

Abstract

This study aims to analyze and identify the types of conceptual difficulties experienced by students in understanding the material in the Calculus course, especially Advanced Trigonometry. Difficulties in this course are often the main obstacle for students to master other advanced mathematical concepts. This study used a qualitative approach with descriptive methods, involving first-semester electrical engineering students. Data were collected through diagnostic tests covering the material of derivatives, integrals, and infinite series of trigonometric functions, as well as semi-structured interviews to explore the reasons behind incorrect answers. The results showed that the main conceptual difficulties of students were divided into three categories: (1) Difficulty in associating basic trigonometric identities with calculus operations, (2) Difficulty in understanding problems and their application in calculating area or volume (integrals), and (3) Difficulty in presenting or explaining the theory of trigonometric functions and their derivatives. These findings underscore the need for the development of learning strategies that focus more on a deeper understanding of basic trigonometric concepts before integrating them with advanced calculus concepts, as well as the use of more effective visualization methods in lectures.
