Through a rigorous and independent peer review process, TARBIYAH: Jurnal Pendidikan dan Pembelajaranensures that each published article meets high academic standards in terms of quality, originality, and its contribution to knowledge. The journal is designed to serve as a primary reference for ongoing educational development and to inspire both academics and practitioners in Indonesia and around the world. Authors who want to submit their manuscript to the editorial office of TARBIYAH: Jurnal Pendidikan dan Pembelajaran should obey the writing guidelines. Abstract

Early childhood health is an important aspect that can affect the quality of children's growth and development. So that early childhood education programs Institutions have a strategic role in ensuring the fulfillment of nutrition, habituation of Clean and Healthy Living Behavior, and support for immunization programs. This study aims to describe the implementation of nutritional fulfillment, habituation of Clean and Healthy Living Behavior, and immunization programs to health examinations in KB Insan Kamil Kartasura. This study uses a qualitative approach through interview techniques and documentation with teachers as the main informants. The results of the study show that nutritional fulfillment is carried out through the Nutritious Eating program, the provision of healthy provisions, restrictions on snacks, and the provision of water and nutritious lunches for full-day classes. The implementation habituation of Clean and Healthy Living Behavior is carried out through the habit of washing hands, maintaining personal and environmental hygiene, and regular nail hygiene checks. Meanwhile, the immunization program and health checks are carried out through the same kerha as the health center for periodic checkups twice a year and in collaboration with the Syifa Medika clinic for monthly checkups. This study concludes that KB Insan Kamil Kartasura has carried out efforts to maintain children's health through programs carried out to improve the quality of health services in early childhood education programs.

Abstract

The cognitive process is the core of learning activities, determining how learners understand, process, and use information. Developments in cognitive theory within educational psychology have shifted learning paradigms from behavioristic approaches focused on observable responses to cognitive approaches that emphasize internal mental activities such as attention, perception, memory, reasoning, and problem-solving. In the context of modern education, learners are viewed as active information processors rather than passive recipients. This article provides a comprehensive discussion of the role of cognitive processes in learning by reviewing the theoretical foundations proposed by scholars such as Piaget, Vygotsky, Bruner, and Ausubel, and analyzing how metacognitive abilities contribute to academic success. In addition, this article highlights the challenges of the digital era, which requires learners to possess higher-order thinking skills to critically sort and evaluate information. The findings affirm that effective learning must be designed with an understanding of how the human mind works, through strategies such as chunking, elaboration, constructivism, problem-based learning, and self-regulated learning. Therefore, strengthening cognitive processes should be a priority in instructional design so that learners can adapt and contribute effectively within the complex and dynamic environment of the 21st century.

Abstract

Understanding the stages of individual development is a crucial aspect of the success of the educational process. Learner development encompasses gradual changes in physical, cognitive, emotional, social, and moral domains from childhood to adulthood. This article provides a comprehensive discussion of developmental theories from key figures in educational psychology, such as Jean Piaget, Erik Erikson, Elizabeth B. Hurlock, and John W. Santrock, and their relevance to educational practice. The discussion emphasizes that each theory contributes significantly to understanding how learners think, form their identity, interact socially, and adapt to their environment. The findings indicate that the success of education is not determined solely by the delivery of academic content but also by the educator’s ability to tailor learning strategies to the developmental needs of learners. Collaboration among teachers, families, and the social environment plays a significant role in shaping learners into independent, characterful individuals capable of adapting to modern life.

Abstract

Language development is one of the most crucial aspects of a child’s growth, as it influences cognitive abilities, communication skills, emotional expression, and information acquisition. However, data from the 2021 Susenas MSBP survey indicate that the majority of early childhood children in Indonesia do not receive optimal support from their parents in reading or listening to stories. This article examines the importance of language stimulation in children and introduces Listen, an audio-based digital library application designed to enhance children’s vocabulary exposure and language skills in an adaptive and educational manner. The application leverages technology to provide audiobooks and interactive features that serve as an innovative literacy medium. The findings highlight that environmental support, both from parents and digital learning media, plays a significant role in strengthening children’s language development. Therefore, Listen offers a flexible and effective alternative solution to support children’s language growth as part of preparing them to become competent future generations.

Abstract

Early exposure to smartphones has become a growing concern as digital devices increasingly shape children’s daily activities and social interactions. This study aims to examine the impact of smartphone use among young children on their social and emotional development, particularly during the critical developmental phase known as the golden age. Using a literature review method, this article synthesizes findings from various empirical studies obtained through Google Scholar, focusing on both the positive and negative consequences of early smartphone use as well as the role of parenting patterns in mediating these effects. The review reveals that while smartphones can provide educational benefits and facilitate communication, excessive or unguided use tends to hinder children’s social interaction, reduce attention span, lower empathy, and disrupt emotional regulation. Many studies emphasize that limited face-to-face interaction caused by prolonged screen exposure negatively affects the development of children's social skills, self-confidence, and moral behavior. The discussion highlights that democratic and responsive parenting is crucial in guiding children toward healthy digital habits and minimizing harmful effects. It is concluded that parental supervision, appropriate usage limits, and early digital literacy education are essential to ensuring that technology supports rather than impedes optimal social-emotional development. These findings underscore the need for parents, educators, and policymakers to collaborate in fostering balanced and responsible digital engagement among young children.

Abstract

Learning interest is a crucial internal factor that influences students’ academic engagement and overall educational outcomes. Various studies consistently highlight social support—originating from parents, peers, teachers, and the learning environment—as a significant external determinant that strengthens students’ motivation and willingness to learn. This literature review aims to synthesize empirical findings from quantitative and qualitative research conducted in diverse educational settings to examine how different forms of social support contribute to the enhancement of learning interest. Results of the reviewed studies show that parental support fosters emotional security and learning discipline, peer support promotes academic encouragement and social belonging, and teacher support strengthens students’ confidence and self-regulated learning. Additionally, supportive learning environments and adequate learning facilities further reinforce students' motivation. Overall, the findings indicate that social support plays a fundamental and multidimensional role in shaping learning interest, suggesting the need for collaborative involvement among families, schools, and peer groups to optimize students’ academic development.

Abstract

Educational psychology is an essential foundation for understanding how learners think, feel, and behave throughout the learning process. This study emphasizes that the role of educational psychology extends beyond explaining learning theories; it also involves applying psychological principles to create effective, inclusive, and humanistic learning experiences. In the context of Indonesian education—which faces challenges such as diverse learner characteristics, social disparities, and rapid technological development—understanding educational psychology has become an urgent necessity for educators. By integrating behavioristic, cognitive, humanistic, and constructivist theories, educators can design holistic and evidence-based learning strategies. This study asserts that mastering the fundamental concepts of educational psychology is not only an academic requirement but also a moral responsibility in shaping an education system oriented toward the intellectual, emotional, and spiritual development of learners.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the impact of Islamic educational institutions, the deep learning approach, and a curriculum based on love on the development of teaching materials in elementary schools. Islamic education plays a foundational role in shaping students' character through the internalization of religious, moral, and social values. However, current learning practices in many elementary schools still focus mainly on textual materials and have not fully addressed the holistic development of students. The concept of a love-based curriculum is seen as an innovative approach that emphasizes love, empathy, and role modeling, which can create a more humane and meaningful learning environment. Meanwhile, deep learning contributes to enhancing students' critical thinking, collaborative, and contextual skills. This research uses a literature study method by analyzing relevant primary and secondary sources on Islamic education, deep learning, love-based curriculum, and the development of teaching materials. The findings show that integrating these three aspects has strategic potential in creating deeper, more holistic, and student-centered learning experiences that meet the developmental needs of children, while also strengthening their character and spirituality in elementary schools.

Abstract

Guidance and Counseling (BK) is a crucial component of the education ecosystem, supporting students' academic, socio-emotional, and career development. However, the effectiveness of BK services in schools is often suboptimal due to counselors' overly generalist roles and lack of in-depth specialization. This article aims to analyze the root causes of ineffective BK services due to unspecialized competencies, and to identify opportunities and challenges for the BK profession. The research method used was a systematic literature review (SLR) of relevant national and international articles. The study results indicate that a lack of competency focus leads to low-quality interventions, weak service management, and limited evidence-based practices. Furthermore, challenges such as administrative workload, lack of professional development, and limited resources exacerbate the situation. Conversely, significant opportunities arise through the MTSS approach, strengthening BK management, and developing specializations based on student needs. Abstract

Guidance and Counseling (GC) services play a critical role in addressing the psychosocial challenges faced by students in modern educational settings, particularly those related to academic pressure, emotional regulation, and self-management difficulties. This literature review examines a comprehensive model for strengthening GC services through the implementation of the 7 Jurus BK Hebat Recognize Potential, Regulate Emotions, Foster Resilience, Maintain Consistency, Build Connection, Strengthen Collaboration, and Structure Situations as a holistic framework to enhance students’ psychosocial resilience and learning engagement. The study employs a literature-based methodological approach by analyzing national and international journal articles published within the last 5–10 years, supported by academic books and formal GC regulations. Findings reveal that the seven principles significantly contribute to improving students’ self-regulation, emotional stability, motivation, and social connectedness. The discussion further confirms that integrating these seven principles aligns with the demands of 21st-century school counseling, particularly in its emphasis on preventive approaches, potential development, and strengthened collaboration between teachers, counselors, and parents. Overall, this model demonstrates strong relevance and adaptability for modern school environments, offering long-term implications for students’ academic, social, and emotional development.
