Abstract

This research was motivated by students' low conceptual understanding of science subjects, which fell below the minimum grade point average (KKTP), namely 64 out of a standard of 70. The study aimed to determine the effect of using animated video media based on the Quran and Hadith on the conceptual understanding of science subjects in fourth-grade elementary school students. The method used was a quasi-experimental design with a one-group pre-test and post-test, with a sample of 29 students using saturated sampling. Data analysis included validity, reliability, normality, and homogeneity tests, as well as hypothesis testing using t-tests and simple linear regression. The results showed a t-test significance of 0.000 < 0.05 and a calculated t-value of 11.352 > t-table of 1.699, with a coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.632 (63.2%). The average student score increased from 64 to 82.4, with a learning completion rate of 89.7% (≥ 70). Thus, animated video media based on the Quran and Hadith has been proven effective in improving elementary school students' understanding of science concepts

Abstract

Local wisdom represents a vital cultural capital that shapes social practices and beliefs within communities. The Minangkabau ethnic group in West Sumatra maintains diverse traditions, including parbukalo in marriage agreements. This study investigates the phenomenon of parbukalo from the perspective of Islamic law. Employing a qualitative method with a content analysis approach, data were collected from classical Islamic texts, scholarly works, and opinions of ushul fiqh experts. The findings reveal that the cultural phenomenology of ethnic marriage in Minangkabau, specifically parbukalo, does not fulfill the requirements of validity under Islamic law. Consequently, its implementation is not obligatory, as it contradicts the principles of Shari‘ah. This research provides preliminary insights for future studies on the intersection of local wisdom and Islamic legal frameworks across diverse socio-cultural contexts.

Abstract

This research is important because uncontrolled inflation can reduce economic growth, weaken purchasing power, and increase inequality in West Sumatra. From an Islamic economic perspective, price stability is related to justice and welfare (falah), so this research is relevant for policy basis. This research aims to analyze the effect of inflation on economic growth in West Sumatra for the period 1985–2024 using a time series approach and an Islamic economics review. Secondary data were collected through documentation from official publications of the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) and analyzed using EViews through stationarity tests, classical assumption tests, and simple linear regression. The results show that inflation becomes stationary after differencing once, and the regression model meets the classical assumptions (no symptoms of normality, autocorrelation, and heteroscedasticity). Inflation is proven to have a significant negative effect on economic growth, with a p-value of 0.0000 <0.05. This indicates that increasing inflation tends to reduce economic growth in West Sumatra. In the perspective of Islamic economics, price stability is part of an effort to maintain economic justice and social welfare (falah) so that uncontrolled inflation can disrupt income distribution and reduce people's purchasing power. Therefore, controlling inflation is important not only economically, but also to realize the values of justice in the Islamic economic system

Abstract

Halal certification is an official recognition process to ensure that products comply with halal standards through inspections of ingredients, production processes, and halal assurance systems conducted by LPPOM MUI. This study aims to examine the implementation of halal certification among MSMEs in the Night Culinary Market of Sungai Penuh City, including the socialization and supervision carried out by LPPOM MUI and the understanding of culinary entrepreneurs regarding halal certification regulations. Using a qualitative field research approach, data were collected through interviews and observations with street food vendors and related stakeholders. The findings show that the socialization and supervision conducted by LPPOM MUI and local government agencies have not effectively reached restaurant entrepreneurs in the Night Culinary Market, as the programs mainly target Islamic religious counselors and packaged food producers. As a result, most culinary business actors still have limited understanding of halal certification procedures. Therefore, stronger and more targeted socialization and supervision are needed to improve entrepreneurs’ awareness and understanding of halal certification

Abstract

This study examines the concept of equality between husband and wife in Islamic marriage law from the perspective of Sheikh Wahbah Zuhaili. The background of this study is the existence of diverse interpretations of the husband-wife relationship in the fiqh munakahat, which often gives rise to inequality of rights and obligations in household practices. The purpose of this study is to describe, analyze, and discover the construction of Wahbah Zuhaili's thoughts on gender equality in marriage. The method used is library research with a normative-philosophical approach. The primary data source refers to Wahbah Zuhaili's magnum opus, al-Fiqh al-Islāmī wa Adillatuhū, while secondary data comes from books, journals, and other relevant literature. The data analysis technique uses a descriptive-analytical method. The results of the study show that according to Wahbah Zuhaili, Islam basically places husband and wife in an equal position as human beings before God. Differences in roles in the household, such as the husband's leadership and the obligation to provide for, are functional and do not ignore the principles of justice and deliberation. Equality is interpreted as equality in dignity and rights, not absolute equality of roles. Wahbah Zuhaili emphasizes the concepts of mu‘āsyarah bil ma‘rūf, justice, and partnership as the foundations of marriage. The implication of this thinking is the importance of reinterpreting marital jurisprudence that is responsive to gender justice without abandoning the Islamic texts

Abstract

This study examines the role of interpersonal communication in enhancing thesis completion motivation among KPI 2022 batch students at STAI YDI Lubuk Sikaping, where low motivation often leads to procrastination and delayed graduation. Grounded in interpersonal communication, role, and motivation theories, this descriptive qualitative study collected data through in-depth interviews, observation, and document analysis using purposive sampling. Findings reveal that harmonious supervisor-student communication including clear guidance, constructive criticism, and emotional support significantly strengthens students' self-confidence and consistency. Positive reinforcement, intrinsic motivation, and support from family and peers form an effective synergy, while negative reinforcement such as criticism and deadlines functions as a productive stimulus rather than an obstacle. This study contributes empirical evidence from an Islamichigher education context in West Sumatra, demonstrating that supervisor-student interpersonal communication serves as a multidimensional motivational mechanism bridging relational, emotional, and academic dimensions of thesis supervision
