Abstract

The purpose of this research is a quantitative study aimed at understanding the influence of product quality and price on purchasing decisions at Kaku Food in Makassar City. The sample was taken from students of the Management Department, Class of 2020, at the Muhammadiyah University of Makassar. The type of data used in this research is quantitative data obtained from distributed questionnaires, which are related to the research problem. In this study, the data sources include both primary and secondary data. The research instrument employed in this study uses the Likert scale method. The data was analyzed using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) version 25 to examine the influence of product quality and price on purchasing decisions at Kaku Food in Makassar City, as discussed in the previous chapters. This is evidenced by the value of the product quality variable (X1), where the calculated t-value is 4.085, which is greater than the table t-value of 1.996. Additionally, for the price variable (X2), the calculated t-value is 7.462, which is also greater than the table t-value of 1.996. From these results, the researcher concludes that both product quality and price have a positive and significant effect on purchasing decisions. These findings suggest that product quality needs to be further enhanced, and the prices offered should align with the quality received by consumers. This alignment ensures customer satisfaction and loyalty, which are crucial for the continued success of Kaku Food in a competitive market. Furthermore, understanding these dynamics can help Kaku Food strategize better in terms of marketing and product development, ensuring that they meet consumer expectations effectively. This research underlines the importance of both product quality and pricing strategies in shaping consumer behavior and decision-making in the food industry.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the role of the Three Datuks in Islamization in the Kingdom of Gowa. This research is qualitative research that focuses on library research using four approaches, namely: the historical approach, the sociology of religion approach, the anthropology approach and the political approach. The data sources used in this research come from books, journals and articles related to research. Meanwhile, data processing and analysis techniques are carried out through three stages, namely: data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The results of the research show that the role played by the Three Datuks in spreading Islam in the Kingdom of Gowa was to carry out a strategy. So even though the Tiga Datuk first arrived in the Gowa Kingdom, the first attempt at Islamization was made against the king and the palace of the Luwu Kingdom. This was because Tiga Datuk, in carrying out his missionary mission, first asked Malay migrants who had lived in Somba Opu for a long time to design an Islamization strategy. After King Luwu converted to Islam, the next strategy was to divide the missionary tasks according to the expertise of the Three Datuks. Datuk Patimang, an expert on Tauhid, served and lived in the Luwu Kingdom, while Datuk ri Bandang, who was known as a fiqh expert, was tasked with dealing with the people of Gowa and Tallo, then Datuk ri Tiro served in the Tiro area, Bulukumba, with more emphasis on the teachings of Sufism according to the conditions of the society he faced. The next strategy is to incorporate sara' (Islamic Sharia) into the cultural form of the Bugis-Makassar people, namely Pangngadakang/Pangngadereng and the final strategy is to carry out an Islamic war (Musu' Selleng) to spread Islam on the South Sulawesi Peninsula.

Abstract

Even though the law regarding brands has been regulated and made easier, in reality brand disputes often occur in our country. Plagiarism of product and service brands is a case that often occurs in brand disputes. One example is the trademark dispute between MS Glow vs. PS Glow. The problems in this research are (1) how are trademark disputes resolved in Indonesia? (2) What are the legal protection efforts for trademarks in Indonesia? and (3) what are the judge's considerations in the Supreme Court decision number 161 K/PDT.SUS-HKI/2023? This research is normative juridical research using a statute approach and a case approach. The conclusions of this research are (1) trademark dispute resolution can be carried out through litigation, non-litigation, arbitration and the Trademark Law approach; (2) legal protection efforts for trademarks are carried out using preventive, repressive and geographical indication approaches; and (3) the judge's considerations in the Supreme Court decision number 161 K/PDT.SUS-HKI/2023 do not focus on whether or not a product can use a name that is cut from the registered brand name. As in the case of "MS GLOW" which registered their brand with the name "MS GLOW/For beautiful skincare" while in promotional activities they only used "MS GLOW". Apart from that, the judge's decision also started from inappropriate considerations when linking two cases, namely the Medan Commercial Court Decision with the Surabaya Commercial Court Decision. Even though the two decisions have different subject and object cases.
