Abstract

The objectives of this study are to see the effect of: principal leadership, performance motivation, and principal leadership and performance motivation toward teacher ’ performance. The study used correlationl design involving 23 teachers as sample. Instruent used for the study is questionnaire. The study found the following findings. Descriptive statistic showed that three aspects being investigated are good, in terms of principal leadership, teacher competence, and teachers ’ performance. Results of hypothesis testing showed that significant effect was contributed in terms of (1) principal leadership toward teacher ’s performance (r=2.599, p=0.05), (2) performance motivation towards teacher performance (r= 3.160, p=0.05), and (3) leadership and performance motivation towards teacher performance (F = 8.48, p=0.05).

Abstract

This study is aimed at seeing improvement of studnets cognitive learning achievement and teacher activities in food biotechnology subject. The study used Classroom Action Research with two cycles and assigned 30 students of the IX grade of MTs Sunan Ampel, Siman Kepung in 2014/2015. Data were colledted using test and observation. The study found that teaching model using problem-based learning improves teachers ’ classroom activities. Cycle I found students activity 62.5% (fair) increasing to 69.7% (good) in cycle II. Learning mastery increased from 52% in cycle I into 85% in cycle II. Students supplied positive responses on the implementation of problem-based learning model in teaching food biotechnology.

Abstract

The objective of this study is to map reading 4 materials in a mind map framework and visualizing the materials in the video program for TOEFL reading materials on mid map basis for TOSE students at IAIN Surakarta. The study used Research and Development (R&D) assigning TOSE students and lecturers in the program. Three stages of R&D devised by Borg & Gall (2003) were implemented in the study, covering: exploration, development of prototype, and effectiveness assessment of the product. The study found the following findings. First, exploration stages commenced from needs analysis and development of initial prototype. Second, the development of prototype began with devising reading materials in a video program on the basis of mind map. Prototype was evaluated based upon expert judgement and main field testing resulting revision on the teaching materials. Third, Mind Map-Based TOEFL Reading materials gives better results than reading materials of conventional version.

Abstract

This study aims at describing pilot projects to increase teachers ’ professionalism in English proficiency. Pilot project was conducted by Yayasan Pendidikan Jayawijaya, Papua regarding efforts to increase school quality management from national into international qualification. Reflective analysis using qualitative approach was used for analysis. This study revealed that strategies to conduct the policy asserted psychological perspectives focusing and maintaining motivation, expectation and andragogy implementation. Teachers ’ problems were approached through constructive relation. The pilot project that initially was administered for English teachers, has been implemented successfully for all teachers at the Yayasan.

Abstract

The objective of this study is to see learning process using LCC model for chemistry course. The study used classroom action research with three cycles each of which implements planning, acting, observing and reflection. Subject of the study was 40 students of grade 8E of MTsN Blitar in the academic year 2009/2010. The findings of the study are as follows: (1) Cycle I: students participation 62.5%, mean score of worksheet 60, mean score of quiz 41,7, and mastery learning 3 students; (2) Cycle II: students participation 86.6%, mean score of worksheet 81, mean score of quiz 72.38, and mastery learning 26 students; (3) Cycle III: students participation 100%, mean score of worksheet 89, mean score of quiz 72.44, and mastery learning 39 students.

Abstract

This study investigates correlation between instructional system and understanding of teaching materials. The study used correlational design, observing instructional system to indicate service quantity and understanding of teaching materials as costumer satisfaction. Sample of the study was 50 students of Management Program at UNISBA in the year 2014/2015. Data were analyzed using pie chart, a circle diagram dividing rate percentage of its elements. The study revealed that good instructional system provides good attainment of students. Results of pie chart 1 to pie chart 3, respectively showed: (1) Chart 1 Direct Evidences: good = 60% good, fair = 20%, less = 10%, and poor = 10% poor; (2) Chart 2 Responses: good = 65%, fair = 15%, less = 10%, and poor = 10%; (3) Chart 3 Costumer Satisfaction: good = 65%, fair = 20%, less = 10%, poor = 5%. In summary, good instructional system significantly relates to understanding of teaching materials.

Abstract

The objectives of this study are to see: (1) students ’ motivation on the practicum of sciences in the subject of biotechnology, (2) psychomotor learning outcomes in the practicum, and (3) an evidence whether learning motivation relates to the psychomotor learning outcomes. This study used correlation design and assigned the first semester 40 students of Biology Department at Balitar Islamic University in the year 2015/2016. Data were analyzed using product moment analysis. This study discovered that a .623 correlational point was achieved in the analysis, indicating that positive relation exists between learning motivation in the practicum activities and psychomotor learning outcomes.

Abstract

The objective of this study is to see improvement to solve problem in the SBM course of the students of Biology Department at Malang State Univetsity using Problem Based-Learning and Lesson Study Basis. Ths study implements classrom action research with two cycles staging Plan, Do, and See as research strategies and assigned 24 students as subject. The study found the following findings: (1) Cycle 1: achievement to solve problems at the first and the second meeting are: 73.25% and 75.75% with the avarage 74.5%; (2) Cycle 2: respectively 71.67% at the first meeting, 80.5% second meeting, 82.33% third meeting and the avererage 78.2%. In summary, improvement on problem solving competency increases 3.7%.

Abstract

This study is aimed at seeing how inquiry model improves students ’ mastery on the subject diversity of biological resources. This study implements classroom action desearch design with two cycles and assigned the grade X students of SMAN 10 Banjarmasin as the research subject. Data were collected from cognitive product of students ’ learning, scores of pretest and posttest. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics. The findings of the study are as follows: in cycle I students ’ mastery is 75.75% and improvement was achieved in the cycle II achieving 93.94%. The achievement indicates students mastery on 85%.

Abstract

This paper is a review of children labour. Theory on children development and empirical experience are provided to discuss the topic. Children labour has received seriuous attention from ILO. The fact that children labor increase from year to year is the world issues. Mostly, labor children are available in the informal sectors where the salary is low, health and wealth insurance is trivial, and dangereous jobs are done. Ecocomic crisis that has impact on various social conflicts runs along the recent years and people try to obtain solutions to cope with the problems. Protection to save the children from the damage of generation has been done.
