Abstract

This article will discuss the factors influencing demand elasticity, the methods of measuring it, and the implications and strategies companies can apply based on this concept. The main factors affecting demand elasticity include the availability of substitute goods, the proportion of income spent on the good, and the time frame given to respond to price changes. The more alternatives available to consumers, the more elastic the demand for a good becomes. A deep understanding of demand elasticity enables companies to make smarter pricing decisions. Companies can maximize revenue and market share by considering the factors influencing elasticity and analyzing market conditions. This elasticity analysis helps identify market segments responsive to price changes to develop effective marketing strategies. Besides price, product quality, brand image, and customer service also affect demand. Integrating these factors into pricing decisions helps companies remain competitive and adaptive.

Abstract

This study evaluates the Batik Seloka Group Program's impact on the community using the Qualitative Impact Assessment Protocol (QUIP) method and identifies ways to strengthen the company's Social Innovation and Social Return on Investment (SROI) report for PROPER Emas. The main issues are high unemployment rates among the productive age group in Adipala Sub-district, the obstruction of batik sales due to Covid-19, and the need to improve batik skills. Using the QuIP approach, the impact of the Corporate Social Innovation program on the Batik Seloka group in Adipala Village, Cilacap Regency, was assessed. Eight semi-structured interviews and two Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) were conducted. Thematic analysis was used for data processing. Findings show a positive impact but highlight the need for improvements in environmental awareness and digitalization support. SROI and Social Innovation reports have potential bias and lack qualitative exploration. QuIP and SROI methods can complement each other, with SROI providing a framework for monetization and financial analysis, while QuIP offers a holistic approach to identify broader impacts. QuIP can reduce pro-project bias, providing a more accurate picture of program success in social innovation reports.

Abstract

The existence of BMT as a sharia microfinance institution has an important role for the community, especially small community business actors, in efforts to empower the economy. So researchers are interested in examining the prospects for establishing Baitul Maal Wat Tamwil (BMT) by looking at the various potentials in China District and the level of community need, especially for small businesses, for business capital financing. The aim of establishing BMT in Cina District is to empower the people's economy, eradicate poverty, social poverty can be reduced so that economic justice, prosperity and welfare of the community can be achieved and what is more important is the importance of poverty free from the bondage of loan sharks. This problem is seen using a qualitative approach using descriptive data, namely research in which data is extracted through observation and interviews with informants based on criteria determined by researchers which are considered to support the prospects for establishing BMT in Cina District. The final conclusion is that there are quite good prospects for building BMT in the Cina District in the future because there is potential that supports the establishment of BMT (Strengths and Opportunities) but there are also obstacles (weaknesses and threats) in establishing BMT in the Cina District. So the author created the SO strategy (using strengths to take advantage of opportunities), the WO strategy (minimizing weaknesses to take advantage of opportunities), the ST strategy (using strengths to overcome threats) and the WT strategy (minimizing weaknesses and avoiding weaknesses).

Abstract

Islamic banking in Indonesia is expected to play a significant role in addressing social welfare, as envisioned by the principles of Maqasid Sharia. However, there remains an ongoing disparity between its financial achievements and societal contributions. While the industry has shown considerable progress in profitability, its broader societal objectives, such as promoting falah—a holistic state of community well-being—remain insufficiently realized. This study examines the extent to which Islamic banking organizations in Indonesia have achieved their societal objectives, focusing on their alignment with the principles of Maqasid Sharia and the pursuit of falah. Despite its financial success, previous research highlights the persistent challenges Islamic banks face in fully realizing their intended societal impact. The adoption of the Islamic Social Banking (ISB) framework is proposed as a viable solution to bridge this gap. This framework provides a targeted strategy for aligning financial operations with social welfare goals. By adopting ISB, Islamic banks can balance profitability with delivering tangible benefits to society, ensuring alignment with Islamic values. This study further underscores the policy implications for regulators of Sharia banking in Indonesia, emphasizing the need for updated legislation and incentives to promote socially responsible practices. These measures can enhance customer trust, support industry initiatives, and foster sustainable development. By adopting the ISB framework, Islamic banks in Indonesia have the potential to redefine their role in the financial sector, shifting from a profit-centric approach to one that emphasizes societal well-being, ensuring that social welfare remains a central focus of the industry’s growth.

Abstract

Celuk Village in Gianyar Regency, Bali is the centre of a high-quality silver craft industry that combines artisan skills and local wisdom. Silver craft production involves a metal plating process that generates solid waste, gas emissions and electrolyte solutions that have the potential to pollute the environment. Both MSMEs strive to be active in business sustainability, which has not been reflected in accounting practices. This shows the urgency of a more effective implementation of corporate social responsibility to support the sustainability of MSMEs. This study aims to analyse the implementation of CSR in two silver craft MSMEs in Celuk Village, namely Yan Yan Silver and Sari Dewi. A qualitative approach was used by collecting data through direct observation and semi-structured interviews. Data was analysed using reduction and triangulation techniques to ensure the validity of the findings. The results showed that Yan Yan Silver implemented good waste management through collecting electrolyte waste in a special place, selling production dust to collectors, and recycling silver scraps. Stable turnover encourages MSMEs to empower the surrounding community by recruiting local labour, contributing to traditional activities, improving public facilities, and collaborating with local artisans. Meanwhile, Sari Dewi emphasises environmental conservation in its production process through the use of pure water and recycling of silver scraps. However, its involvement in social aspects is more limited, reflected in its competency-focused recruitment system and minimal participation in social activities outside the company. The findings suggest that Yan Yan Silver prioritises community-based social responsibility, while Sari Dewi focuses on environmental sustainability

Abstract

This study aims to identify the socio-economic and infrastructure effects on environmental quality across 34 provinces of Indonesia from 2019 – 2023. The analysis is conducted by using panel data and a Fixed Effects Model to analyze how population density, industrial activity, education level, sanitation access, road length, and electricity coverage influence the Environmental Quality Index (IKLH). The results show that education has a strong positive effect on environmental quality, highligting the essence of human capital in promoting sustainability. Sanitation, electricity, and road length also show moderate associations. However, population density and industrial share do not have any significant effect on environmental quality. A Moran’s I test on the residuals indicates no significant spatial autocorrelation, suggesting limited spatial dependence in environmental quality outcomes at the provincial level. The study emphasizes the need for investments in education and basic infrastructure to support environmental improvements, while also acknowledging limitations related to spatial resolution and model specification.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the Kasda Online application in supporting non-cash services for regional financial management within the operational area of PT Bank SulutGo in Gorontalo Province. The research is grounded in national policies on the electronification of regional government transactions, which demand efficiency, transparency, and accountability in public financial governance. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, direct observation, and documentation, and analyzed with the Miles and Huberman interactive model consisting of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing with triangulation. The results show that the application has a positive impact on accelerating transaction processes, improving time and cost efficiency, and enhancing budget disbursement transparency. However, several obstacles were identified, including technical disruptions, limited internet access, and low digital literacy in certain regencies. Users’ perceptions of the application are generally positive, though there remains a need for technical training and improvements to the system’s interface. The study concludes that Approximately 70–80% of users perceive Kasda Online as effective in supporting non-cash services, while around 20–30% still experience barriers related to infrastructure and technical skills.
