This study addresses the limited application of structured quality control tools in traditional food production, particularly within small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) such as tempe producers, despite their importance for product consistency and consumer satisfaction. The research aims to identify and analyze the dominant factors contributing to product defects, with a specific focus on discoloration in tempe production, using the Fishbone Diagram and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) as analytical frameworks. Adopting a qualitative-descriptive case study design, one tempe-producing SME in Batujajar was purposively selected. Data were collected through field observations and in-depth interviews over four months (March–June 2025) and supported by defect records from January to September 2024. Findings indicate that the primary cause of discoloration is insufficient employee training, followed by inconsistent implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs), inadequate temperature and humidity control, poor yeast storage, and environmental conditions. FMEA results show that human error due to lack of training had the highest Risk Priority Number (RPN = 288), marking it as the most critical failure mode. The study concludes that preventive solutions such as regular training, SOP standardization, and environmental monitoring are essential for improving tempe product quality. The implications extend to theoretical contributions in quality management within the informal food sector and practical recommendations for SMEs and policymakers to adopt low-cost, effective quality control strategies. Future research should explore the long-term effects of such interventions on business sustainability and customer satisfaction in small-scale food enterprises.

This study aimed to develop and validate the Échelle d’Évaluation du Comportement Innovant chez les Enseignants (EECI-E), a scale for evaluating innovation behavior in teachers using bifactor modeling within five Moroccan secondary schools and universities with regulated access. Drawing on Churchill’s model of scale development and measurement theory, the research followed a multi-step process involving item generation, selection, scaling, field testing, and refinement. An initial pool of items was assessed through exploratory factor analysis (EFA) with a sample of 290 teachers recognized for their innovative pedagogical practices across 17 institutions in five Moroccan cities. The construct validity of each emergent factor was subsequently evaluated. The results yielded a 24-item scale comprising four distinct dimensions: Design and Evaluation, Objects, Conditions of Achievement, and Intervention Strategy. These four dimensions accounted for 77.178% of the total variance, with strong internal consistency (Cronbach’s alpha α = 0.961) and high test-retest reliability (r = 0.922). Confirmatory factor analysis supported a bifactor structure, identifying a general factor that captures a teacher’s overall capacity to drive innovative instructional change. Model fit indices indicated satisfactory levels, supporting the robustness of the proposed scale. Despite minor limitations, the EECI-E scale demonstrates strong psychometric properties and can be applied in similar educational contexts to support ongoing quality improvement in teaching innovation.

This study investigates the integration of the Women, Peace, and Security (WPS) framework into gender-inclusive disaster management in Indonesia. Employing a descriptive qualitative approach grounded in document analysis, it examines academic literature, policy documents, and institutional reports to trace the development, implementation, and impact of WPS principles within Indonesia’s disaster governance landscape. The findings reveal a paradigm shift in which women are increasingly recognized not solely as vulnerable populations, but as active leaders and decision-makers in disaster preparedness, response, and recovery efforts. Initiatives such as Desa Tangguh Bencana and Srikandi Tangguh Bencana exemplify the successful localization of the WPS agenda, fostering inclusive community resilience and addressing gender-specific vulnerabilities. The institutionalization of WPS in Indonesia is further supported by frameworks like the National Action Plan for the Protection and Empowerment of Women and Children in Social Conflicts (RAN P3AKS) and Indonesia’s engagement with UN Security Council Resolution 2538, which advocates for women’s roles in peacekeeping and disaster risk reduction. These advancements signify a broader transformation in disaster governance, where gender mainstreaming is recognized as a critical component of national resilience and security. The study concludes that meaningful female participation is essential for building equitable, adaptive, and sustainable disaster management systems in Indonesia.
