Abstract

The study aims to know the difference of learning achievement by poster displaying in the environmental topic. Type of the research was quasi experiment and was designed with pre-test and post-test. The population is the students in SMA Negeri 3 and 4 Medan academic year 2015/2016. The samples consists of two groups selected purpousively for each of school, grade X MIA 10 as poster making inclution group (n=40 students) and X MIA 7 as poster non-making inclution group (n=40 students). Learning method in both groups was goup discussion. In first group, used poster making inclution and poster non-making inclution for the second. Multiple choice test was the instrument for cognitive data collection and questionnaires were used for student performances. Hypothesis wass tested by t-test. The students learning achievement result showed that, the average score in poster making inclution group (74.92) was higher than poster non-making inclution group (67.13) with persentage difference is 38%. tcount with ttable is tcount > ttable ( 4.175 > 1.994) (with α=0.05 and df=78). Based on the data from research result used tcount > ttable then H0 was rejected and Ha was accepted. It means there is difference of learning achievement between student who were treated with poster making inclution and those treated with non-poster making inclution model on Environmental topic of Grade X in SMA at Medan Academic Year 2015/2016.

Abstract

Penelitian yang dilakukan di SMA Negeri 3 Medan ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan hasilbelajar siswa menggunakan model pembelajaran Snowball Throwing dengan Make A Match (MAM). Jenispenelitian yang digunakan adalah eksperimen semu dengan memberikan perlakuan kepada kedua kelompoksampel penelitian. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas X MIA SMA Negeri 3 Medan yaitusebanyak 14 kelas. Sampel penelitian diambil dua kelas yang ditentukan dengan teknik random samplingmasing-masing sebanyak 40 siswa. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah tes dalam bentukobjektif tes, yaitu untuk soal postes sebanyak 30 soal yang masing-masing telah dinyatakan valid dan reliable.Sebelum pengujian hipotesis terlebih dahulu diuji normalitas dan homogenitas data. Dari pengujian yangdilakukan diperoleh bahwa kedua sampel berdistribusi normal dan homogen. Hasil penelitian diperoleh bahwarata-rata hasil belajar siswa yang diajarkan menggunakan model pembelajaran Snowball Throwing lebih tinggidari hasil belajar siswa yang diajar menggunakan model pembelajaran Make A Match dengan hasil pengujianhipotesis diperoleh thitung > ttabel yaitu 2,251 > 1,994 pada taraf α = 0,05. Hasil belajar siswa kelas Make A Matchdiperoleh rata-rata postes sebesar 75,91 sedangkan hasil belajar siswa kelas Snowball Throwing rata-ratapostes 79,58. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai postes siswa pada kelas Snowball Throwing 95%mencapai KKM sedangkan postes kelas Make A Match sebanyak 75% siswa mencapai KKM.Kata Kunci: Hasil Belajar Siswa, Snowball Throwing, Make A Match, ekosistem.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan hasil belajar biologi siswa dengan menggunakan model inkuiri dan model pembelajaran berbasis masalah pada sub materi pokok sistem sirkulasi manusia di kelas XI IPA MAS PPMDH TPI Medan Tahun Pembelajaran 2015/2016. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian eksperimen semu. Sampel dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari dua kelas yaitu kelas XI IPA1 menggunakan model inkuiri dan kelas XI IPA2 menggunakan model pembelajaran berbasis masalah, masing-masing kelas berjumlah 27 siswa. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan rata-rata hasil belajar siswa menggunakan model inkuiri () =72,5926 dengan nilai standar deviasi (SD) = 9,061 lebih baik dari rata-rata hasil belajar siswa menggunakan model pembelajaran berbasis masalah () = 67,6296 dengan nilai standar deviasi (SD) = 7,8649. Hasil hipotesis dengan menggunakan uji-t dan taraf kepercayaan α = 0,05 diperoleh thitung > ttabel (2,1550 > 2,008) sehingga dalam penelitian ini hipotesis nihil (H0) ditolak dan hipotesis alternatif (Ha) diterima, dengan demikian diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa ada perbedaan hasil belajar siswa dengan menggunakan model inkuiri (Inquiry Learning) dan model pembelajaran berbasis masalah pada sub materi pokok sistem sirkulasi manusia di kelas XI IPA MAS PPMDH TPI Medan Tahun Pembelajaran 2015/2016.

Abstract

Pengembangan penuntun praktikum melalui pendekatan Inkuiri Terbimbing merupakan upaya yang dilakukan untuk meningkatkan kreatifitas, menemukan sendiri pengetahuan mahasiswa melalui kegiatan praktikum. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keterlaksaaan kegiatan penggunaan penuntun praktikum dengan menggunakan pendekatan inkuiri terbimbing pada tahap diseminate di Universitas Negeri Padang. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan pada tahap disseminate dengan menggunakan model 4D. Data diolah dengan rumus persentase. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan keterlaksanaan pendekatan inkuiri terbimbing selama praktikum memperoleh nilai 93,34% yang berada pada kategori sangat terlaksana. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa kegiatan praktikum dengan menggunakan pendekatan inkuiri terbimbing sangat terlaksana.

Abstract

This research is aimed at determining the effectiveness of the active learning strategy of The FiringLine type is varied with meaningful script on results and activity of student learning materials on humanreproductive system in class XI IPA SMA Parulian 1 Medan Academic Year 2016/2017. This type of research ispre-experiment, where the population in this study are the students of class XI IPA SMA Parulian 1 Medan with57 students. Sampling was performed by using the random sampling technique. The result show that studentmastery level classified in the category of high with a value of 80, students’ learning completeness classified inthe category of complete with a value of 89.3%, and student learning activities classified in the category ofactive with a value of 77.60. So it can be concluded that the active learning strategy of The Firing Line type isvaried with meaningful script effectively used on the material of the human reproduction system in class XI IPASMA Parulian 1 Medan Academic Year 2016/2017.Key Words : Active Learning Strategy Of The Firing Line Type, meaningful script, activity learning.

Abstract

 This study aims to determine students' critical thinking abilities in SMA Swasta Budisatrya Medan in ecosystem material. The ability to think critically is then analyzed based on indicators and compared with gender. The method used in this research is descriptive method with quantitative and qualitative approaches. The research sample is 69 students. The instrument of data collection is a test of critical thinking skills. Tests are given after students get material from the subject teacher. The technique used to process the scores obtained is to use a benchmark reference assessment technique (PAP). The results showed that students' thinking skills in ecosystem material were on average medium criteria, followed by low categories, then high and only 4 students who had critical thinking skills in the very high category. Overall, students' critical thinking skills are in the medium category. The highest critical thinking ability of students is on the indicators of strategy and tactics with moderate criteria, followed by conclusions, and provides a basic explanation. Furthermore, the lowest critical thinking ability of students is in the indicators of building basic skills and followed by making further explanations. The critical thinking ability of female students is higher than that of male students with an average score of 73 and is in the criteria of being moderate. While the average value of critical thinking skills of male students is only 64 and is in the low criteria. There is no significant difference between the critical thinking abilities of male and female students.

Abstract

This research aimed to determine the differences between student’s learning outcomes that were taught by used discovery learning and problem based learning models on topic of environmental pollution in grade x SMA Negeri 1 Sunggal in academic year 2014/2015, The population of all of the students at grade X, that consisted of 4 classes and total of the students were 156 students. The samples were taken at random sampling of two classes, with details class X2 used discovery learning model and X1 used problem based learning model and each class numbered 39 students, so the number of samples in this study were 78 students. Type of research was experimental. The results showed that the learning outcomes of students who were taught by using discovery learning model was 82,05 ± 8,25, while the learning outcomes of students who were taught by using the problem based learning model was 76,41 ± 8,15. The result from the t-test at α = 0,05 with th 3,044; tt  1,995; and dk 76 refer that there was significant different from student’s learning outcomes who were taught using discovery learning model with problem based learning model on topic of environmental pollution in grade X SMA Negeri 1 Sunggal in academic year 2014/2015.Keywords : discovery learning, learning model, learning outcomes, problem based learning

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui korelasi kemampuan membaca kritis teks biologi melalui mind map dengan hasil belajar siswa pada sub materi sistem ekskresi pada manusia di kelas XI MIA SMA Negeri 1 Babalan T.P. 2015/2016. Populasi berupa seluruh siswa kelas XI MIA SMA Negeri 1 Babalan tahun pembelajaran 2015/2016. Sampel berjumlah 40 orang siswa yang diambil secara random sampling. Untuk teknik analisis data diketahui bahwa bentuk persamaan regresi Ŷ = 32 + 0,6 X merupakan regresi linear dimana Fhitung > Ftabel (14,96 > 4,242) pada α = 0,05 dan dari hasil perhitungan indeks determinasi diperoleh I = 0,2821, artinya kemampuan membaca kritis melalui mind map memberikan kontribusi sebesar 28,21% terhadap hasil belajar siswa. Untuk pengujian hipotesis diperoleh thitung > ttabel (4, 543 > 2,024). Maka dapat dinyatakan terdapat korelasi antara  kemampuan membaca kritis melalui mind map dengan hasil belajar siswa di kelas IX MIA pada sub materi sistem ekskresi pada manusia di kelas XI MIA SMA Negeri 1 Babalan Tahun Pembelajaran 2015/2016. Abstract

This study aims to determine the level of learning difficulties students on Virus material in terms of cognitive aspects, learning indicators and factors causing. The method used is the analysis of the causes of students' learning difficulties. The research design is descriptive quantitative. Population in research is all students of class X IPA SMA Negeri 1 Rantau Selatan, Kab. Labuhan Batu. The sample was taken in total sampling as many as 129 students. The research instruments are multiple choice test and questionnaire. The results showed: (1) the percentage of students' learning difficulties on each cognitive aspect of C1, C2, C3, C4, C5 and C6 and 43.05%, 48.15%, 49.36%, 50, 17%, 61.54%, 69.93%; (2) indicator to differentiate body structure of virus with other creature equal to 53,03%, (3) indicator to identify virus characteristic by 42,24%, (2) explain the way of virus reproduction 53,72%, (4) indicator explain the role of virus for life equal to 56,64%, and (5) indicator communicate how to avoid self from danger of virus like influenza, AIDS, bird flu etc 50, 7%; and (3) factors that, inhibiting students in studying viral plant matter are physical, psychological, parent, biology teacher, lesson, school environment. It was concluded that there were students' learning difficulties on virus material in class X MIPA SMA Negeri 1 Rantau Selatan Tahun Learning 2017/2018.Keywords: learning difficulties, cognitive aspects, and factors causing learning difficulties

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengetahuan dan sikap siswa terhadap teori evolusi pada siswa kelas XII IPA di SMAN 16 Medan, dengan memberikan tes dan angket kepada siswa pada materi teori evolusi. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian korelasional dengan sampel sebanyak 34 siswa dan dengan menggunakan teknik sampling cluster random sampling. Data penelitian dikumpulkan melalui tes dan angket. Tes diberikan untuk menguji pengetahuan siswa tentang teori evolusi dan angket diberikan untuk menguji sikap siswa terhadap teori evolusi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (5,8 %) yang pengetahuan tentang materi evolusi sangat baik. Sebanyak (29,4%) pengetahuan tentang teori evolusinya baik , (26,5%) memiliki pengetahuan yang cukup tentang teori evolusi, (5,8%) memiliki pengetahuan yang kurang dan (32,5%) memiliki pengetahuan yang sangat kurang tentang teori Evolusi. Hasil penelitian tentang sikap siswa menunjukkan (8,8%) memiliki sikap yang sangat baik, (20,6%) memliki sikap yang baik, (47,1%) memiliki sikap yang cukup baik, (17,7%) memiliki sikap yang kurang baik dan (5,8%) memiliki sikap yang sangat kurang terhadap materi teori evolusi. Hubungan antara pengetahuan dan sikap siswa terhadap materi Teori Evolusi dikatakan rendah. Hal ini ditunjukkan dengan hasil perhitungan uji korelasi product moment yang didapatkan yakni 0,32.Kata kunci: Pengetahuan Siswa, Sikap Siswa, Teori Evolusi
