Abstract

Effective career planning and development is essential in the context of today's competitive and dynamic job market. A systematic approach is crucial to helping individuals and organizations identify and achieve their career goals. This research aims to analyze the importance of a systematic approach in career planning and development, the challenges faced, and the determining factors for success that need to be considered. The method used in this research is literature study, which includes analysis of related literature and best practices in career development. The research results show that self-assessment, setting clear goals, developing skills, as well as mentorship and technology support play an important role in achieving career success. Apart from that, organizations must also play an active role in providing structured development programs to increase employee engagement. The conclusion of this research emphasizes the need for synergy between individuals and organizations in creating a mutually beneficial career development ecosystem.

Abstract

The Fifth Industrial Revolution (Industry 5.0) presents both challenges and opportunities for global economic development, where advanced technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), big data, and the Internet of Things (IoT) are transforming industries and societies. The main challenges include the lack of human capital preparedness to quickly adapt to technological advancements and the low level of environmental awareness in many industrial sectors. Economic growth that focuses excessively on natural resource exploitation exacerbates environmental degradation and climate change. Therefore, collaboration between human resources, technology, and environmental consciousness is essential to achieving sustainable and inclusive development. This study aims to identify gaps in human resource readiness, technological utilization, and environmental awareness and to propose economic development strategies for the industry 5.0 era that address these challenges. The research method employed is a literature review, analyzing various academic papers, reports, and secondary data from scientific journals, government reports, and industry-related articles. The findings show that technology serves as a primary driver of innovation, but human-technology collaboration is crucial for creating sustainable value. Additionally, the rising environmental awareness offers opportunities for industries to shift towards more eco-friendly business models, such as the circular economy and renewable energy. Collaboration between governments, the private sector, academia, and civil society is needed to realize inclusive and sustainable development in this era.

Abstract

This theoretical analysis examines the conceptual frameworks and scholarly perspectives on employee commitment in organizations, synthesizing current literature to develop a comprehensive understanding of commitment-building strategies. Through an extensive review of contemporary organizational behavior theories, we explore the multifaceted nature of employee commitment and its theoretical implications for organizational success. The study analyzes various theoretical models of employee commitment, identifying key constructs and their interrelationships. The analysis reveals that employee commitment is conceptualized through multiple theoretical lenses, including social exchange theory, organizational support theory, and the job demands-resources model. This paper contributes to the academic discourse by proposing an integrated theoretical framework for understanding and developing employee commitment, considering both individual psychological factors and organizational contextual elements.This study examines the evolution of employee commitment concepts within the modern business context, focusing on theoretical frameworks including Social Exchange Theory, Organizational Support Theory, and the Job Demands-Resources Model. Employee commitment is regarded as a critical element for organizational success and stability, encompassing affective, continuance, and normative dimensions. In addition to psychological factors, work environment, and job satisfaction, the research highlights the need for a holistic approach in strategies to develop employee loyalty. Through a literature analysis, this study aims to provide comprehensive insights and strategic recommendations for enhancing employee engagement and retention within organizations.Keywords: employee commitment theory, organizational loyalty, theoretical framework, organizational behavior, workplace psychology

Abstract

Human resource planning in the industrial revolution of the society 5.0 era must be carried out carefully, strategically and effectively in responding to the challenges of human resources that have flexibility that changes very quickly. The purpose of this research is to provide an explanation of the study of the role of human resource planning in job analysis and recruitment of human resources within the company, namely by formulating human resource planning steps based on job analysis and explaining the importance of job analysis in developing recruitment and workforce development strategies, and evaluating human resource planning effectively and efficiently by making continuous improvements to the human resource planning that has been arranged in accordance with the vision and mission of the Company. The research method used is descriptive analytical method obtained from secondary data sources taken from journals, articles and books using a qualitative research approach to literature study. The results of this study indicate that HR planning based on job analysis can provide a strategic advantage in managing the workforce in the company so that human resource planning in this study has an important role in job analysis and job analysis provides a strong basis for developing HR strategies, from recruitment to company development

Abstract

The Independent Curriculum in elementary to high schools (SD to SMA) is a challenge for schools to improve their ability in managing both learning and administration, so that what is aspired to in the mandate of the Constitution which reads "to educate the life of the nation" is something that is essential. Something that is quite urgent is the learning objectives, one of which is to improve cognition for students, which is the basis for this community service program, namely improving musical skills with a drumband training and performance program at SMPN 30 Muaro Jmabi. The skills program in the independent learning curriculum is strongly encouraged by being a leading government program (Ministry of Education and Culture) so that students can create something that fosters independence in determining and choosing the direction of life (future). The purpose of this community service program is that in addition to increasing interest and talent, it also provides space for creativity for students in carrying out music learning activities through extracurricular activities as intended by the independent curriculum. The community service program is a government program that is assigned to educators (Lecturers) in carrying out the Tri Dharma of Higher Education. For that, of course there are scientific measurements called activity outputs, in this case the team will target outputs in the form of (1) National Seminar Proceedings. (2) Scientific Journals. (3) Publications on Electronic Media. (4) Activity Documentation Videos.

Abstract

Permasalahan yang ada pada Klub Basket Rongqing Yayasan Fuqing Banjarmasin ialah masih rendahnya teknik passing serta rendahnya jumlah passing yang dilakukan para atlet saat bermain. Pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pengetahuan teori dan praktek tentang teknik passing dengan cara pendampingan, diskusi dan praktek langsung di lapangan. Pendampingan tersebut dilakukan untuk meningkatkan teknik passing para atlet baik itu tingkat akurasi maupun jumlah passing yang dilakukan para atlet. Luaran yang ingin dicapai adalah publikasi ilmiah pada jurnal ber ISSN dan publikasi di media online yakni youtube. Hasil dari pengabdian masyarakat ini ialah meningkatnya tingkat akurasi passing para pemain serta meningkatnya pula jumlah passing yang mereka lakukan. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari perbandingan hasil pretest dan posttest teknik passing para atlet Klub Basket Rongqing.

Abstract

Kelainan refraksi adalah kondisi yang disebabkan oleh kelainan dalam panjang sumbu (axial length) atau kelainan daya refraksi media. Kelainan refraksi yang tidak terkoreksi adalah salah satu penyebab yang paling umum dari gangguan penglihatan. Astigmatisme (mata silinder) adalah kondisi di mana kekuatan refraksi kornea atau lensa bervariasi karena perubahan bentuk permukaan sehingga cahaya jatuh di dua titik di depan retina. Kondisi ini menyebabkan penderita harus memutar mata sehingga efek lubang jarum dapat dilihat. Tujuan Penelitian : Mengetahui hubungan antara faktor genetik dan penggunaan gadget terhadap kejadian astigmatisme di Optik Reka Jaya Palembang Tahun 2024. Metode Penelitian : Dalam Penelitian ini penulis menggunakan jenis penelitian survey analitik dengan pendekatan cross sectional dimana variabel independen yaitu faktor genetik dan penggunaan gadget dan variabel dependen yaitu astigmatisme. Hasil Penelitian : Dari data bivariat diperoleh dari 48 responden terdapat 33 responden (68,8%) mengalami astigmatisme dan 15 responden (31,3%) tidak mengalami astigmatisme. Diperoleh 31 responden (64,6%) mengalami astigmatisme berdasarkan faktor genetik sedangkan 17 responden (35,4%) bukan berdasarkan faktor genetik. Diperoleh 32 responden (66,7%) mengalami astigmatisme berdasarkan penggunaan gadget yang buruk sedangkan 16 responden (33,3%) penggunaan gadget yang baik. Kesimpulan : Berdasarkan Analisa data yang dilakukan diperoleh Kesimpulan bahwa ada hubungan yang bermakna antara faktor genetik dan penggunaan gadget secara simultan dengan kejadian astigmatisme. Hasil uji statistik chi-square tentang hubungan faktor genetik dengan kejadian astigmatisme didapatkan nilai p-value 0,006 dan Hasil uji statistik chi-square tentang hubungan penggunaan gadget dengan kejadian astigmatisme didapatkan nilai p-value 0,021.

Abstract

Guru memiliki peran yang krusial untuk membimbing, mendorong, dan mengawasi siswa terutama dalam hal membaca. Rendahnya motivasi yang dimiliki siswa untuk membaca membuat guru memiliki peran penting dalam menumbuhkan minat membaca pada siswa. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan peran guru dalam menumbuhkan minat baca siswa di kelas III UPTD SDN Demangan 1 Bangkalan. Jenis penelitian ini yaitu kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data diidentifikasi melalui wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa guru memainkan peran penting dalam menumbuhkan minat membaca siswa. Guru di UPTD SDN Demangan 1 memiliki banyak tanggung jawab untuk mendorong minat baca siswa. Guru dapat bertindak sebagai konselor dengan menyarankan buku untuk membaca siswa, sebagai motivator dengan memberikan pujian, sebagai dinamisator dengan mengintegrasikan membaca ke dalam pembelajaran, sebagai evaluator dengan menilai perkembangan siswa, dan sebagai fasilitator dengan menyediakan fasilitas fisik dan non fisik.

Abstract

This research addresses obstacles to effective English communication, focusing on essential language competencies—listening, speaking, reading, and writing—that are critical in global business. It explores which language skills are most important for international business communication and examines the impact of language proficiency on professional success. The goal of the study is to identify these key competencies for successful global business interactions and to provide insight into which skills professionals should focus on developing. To achieve this, a systematic literature review is conducted, establishing a structured theoretical framework by drawing on findings from previous research. The study concludes that essential language competencies for global business success include verbal communication, writing skills, cross-cultural understanding, listening, and negotiation abilities. Among these, verbal skills in English, as an international language, are especially crucial in settings such as presentations, meetings, and negotiations. Effective verbal communication requires not only mastery of grammar but also the ability to use non-verbal cues, like intonation and body language, to reinforce and clarify messages. These competencies are emphasized as crucial for professionals who wish to excel in the global business landscape, where effective communication can significantly influence outcomes. The findings suggest that developing both language and cultural understanding equips professionals to engage more effectively across linguistic and cultural boundaries, enhancing their ability to negotiate, collaborate, and succeed in diverse business environments.

Abstract

This research evaluates the performance of coastal safety structures in mitigating wave runoff through laboratory-scale simulations. Pancana Beach in Barru Regency, South Sulawesi, was selected as the research site due to its vulnerability to wave-induced beach damage. To simulate wave conditions, a wave generator was designed using a 12-volt DC motor integrated into an acrylic wave bath. This research analyses the effectiveness of three types of coastal safety structures: reflectors, sea walls and sloping sea walls. Laboratory experiments measured the wave overflow volume for each type of structure under controlled conditions. The results showed that reflector-type structures achieved the highest efficiency in mitigating wave overtopping, with an average minimum overtopping value of 0.006 m³/ms. The findings emphasise the importance of selecting and designing appropriate coastal protection measures to minimise coastal erosion, protect coastal infrastructure and reduce risks to surrounding settlements. This study contributes valuable insights into the role of engineered structures in enhancing coastal resilience, especially for areas vulnerable to high wave energy.
