Abstract

Cardiovascular disease remains a leading cause of death both globally and nationally, with Low Density Lipoprotein(LDL) levels serving as a key biochemical indicator in the screening and management of heart disease. Accurate LDL testing requires adherence to pre-analytical procedures, particularly fasting for 10-12 hours. This study aimed to describe LDL levels and fasting compliance among outpatient cardiac patients at RSU Prima Medika Denpasar. A descriptive cross-sectional design was used with purposive sampling, involving 35 cardiac outpatients from February to March 2025. Data were collected through interviews and laboratory examinations using the Furuno CA-270 device. Results showed that 71% of respondents had LDL levels >100 mg/dL, indicating high levels, while 29% hadnormal levels (<100 mg/dL). All respondents (100%) complied with the fasting requirement. These findings indicate that high LDL levels are still commonly found among outpatient cardiac patients, particularly in productive-age males. The high level of fasting compliance reflects the effectiveness of pre-analytical patient education. This study emphasizes the importance of routine lipid screening and continuous education to enhance laboratory diagnostic accuracy and prevent cardiovascular complications.

Abstract

The plastic waste crisis in Indonesia and Thailand is one of the biggest environmentalchallenges in Southeast Asia, triggered by increased plastic consumption due to urbanization, economic growth and modern lifestyles. This study aims to analyze the challenges, environmental impacts, and sustainable solutions related to plastic waste management in bothcountries. The method used is qualitative analysis based on secondary data from scientificliterature, reports of international institutions. The results show that Indonesia faces seriousproblems in plastic waste management that cause marine pollution to other countries, whileThailand struggles with the high volume of domestic and imported plastic waste. Theresulting environmental impacts include damage to marine ecosystems, threats tobiodiversity, and human health risks from microplastics. Recommended solutions include theimplementation of national regulations that support sustainability principles, 3R (Reduce,Reuse, Recycle) strategies, promotion of eco-friendly packaging, and public education toreduce the use of single-use plastics. The study concludes that regional collaboration amongASEAN countries is needed to effectively address the plastic waste crisis to protectecosystems and human health in the long term.

Abstract

Digital transformation of cultural heritage is a strategic step in preserving and promoting cultural wealth to present and future generations. This study aims to analyze the digitalization efforts of the cultural heritage of the Mataram Kingdom, both in tangible and intangible forms, and to assess its impact on the preservation and increasing accessibility of cultural information. The research method used is a qualitative study with a descriptive approach through interviews, observations, and documentation studies. The results of the study indicate that the digitization of artifacts, manuscripts, historical sites, and historical narratives of the Mataram Kingdom has made a significant contribution to building public awareness of the importance of cultural preservation. This initiative also opens up opportunities for the development of culture-based ecotourism through digital media, such as applications, interactive websites, and augmented reality. However, challenges such as limited technology, funding, and human resources are still obstacles that need to be overcome through collaboration between the government, academics, cultural communities, and the private sector. Thus, digital transformation is an important means of maintaining the sustainability of the cultural heritage of the Mataram Kingdom in the modern era.

Abstract

This study examines the application of Trello as an educational instrument in Social Studies (IPS) courses in junior high schools. Trello is a collaborative platform that facilitates project-based learning and the development of contemporary skills. Although prior studies indicate that Trello enhances teamwork and student engagement in senior high schools, there remains a paucity of studies regarding its application among junior high school students. This study employed a qualitative case study methodology, using interviews and document analyses of social studies educators in Jakarta. The results showed that Teachers' successful use of Trello was hindered by inadequate knowledge, poor digital infrastructure, and difficulties integrating it into the curriculum. Still, teachers stayed open to the adjustments given direction and assistance. This study proposes enhancing teachers' digital literacy and offering continuous training as a preliminary measure to optimize the use of Trello in social studies education in junior high schools.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the management of batik as an educational tourism attraction based on local cultural values in Karanganyar Regency, with an emphasis on the involvement of the five key actors in the Penta Helix model—government, academia, business sector, community, and media. Karanganyar possesses rich cultural heritage in the form of batik, which holds significant potential to be developed into an educational tourism destination. However, its current management still faces various challenges. This research employed a qualitative descriptive approach, using in-depth interviews, field observations, and document studies for data collection. Data were analyzed using thematic analysis, referring to destination management theory (Cooper et al., 2008) and the concept of edu-tourism (Bodger, 1998). The results reveal that the management of batik educational tourism in Karanganyar has not yet been systematically integrated. Key issues identified include: (1) limited human resources with adequate competence, (2) conventional tourism practices, (3) lack of innovation in tourism product packaging, (4) insufficient institutional coordination and support, and (5) underdeveloped integration between cultural and educational tourism. While there is a strong commitment to cultural preservation from local communities and participation from business actors, structural support from the government and optimization of the media’s role require further enhancement. The implication of this research emphasizes the need for strengthened cross-sectoral collaboration through the Penta Helix framework, the formulation of specific policies for educational tourism development, as well as innovations in digital promotion and context-based cultural education curricula. This study is expected to serve as a reference for policymakers, tourism practitioners, and future researchers in promoting sustainable educational tourism rooted in local culture.

Abstract

Inclusive education is a public school that facilitates students with disabilities, also known as children with special needs, where students have physical limitations, one example of which is slow learners. A slow learner is a learning disability where students face obstacles and difficulties in thinking. Slow learners can still follow the school curriculum, but they require slightly different treatment from regular students and additional time in the learning process. Before instruction begins, teachers must understand the characteristics and needs of children with special needs, particularly slow learners. This study aims to understand the characteristics and needs of slow learners in the learning process, as well as the strategies teachers can use in the learning process. The research method used is descriptive-qualitative, involving direct observation at SMP Negeri 22 Surakarta. By understanding the characteristics and needs of slow learners, teachers can adjust their teaching methods to suit the abilities of slow learners, thereby achieving good learning outcomes.

Abstract

The large-scale exploitation of nature currently occurring in Indonesia reflects a crisis of spirituality among modern humans in their understanding and treatment of nature. The loss of sacred awareness of nature as God's creation has led to an exploitative, rather than participatory, relationship between humans and nature. This study aims to examine the connection between the exploitation of nature and spiritual decadence, as well as how Islamic values can provide a relevant and transformative ecological ethical framework. The method used is a qualitative study with a literature review approach, involving critical analysis of Islamic texts and spiritual ecology theories from thinkers such as Seyyed Hossein Nasr and Roy A. Rappaport. The results of the study show that Islamic principles such as Tawhid, Khilafah, Amanah, and Shari'ah have strong potential to shape spiritual-based ecological awareness. Additionally, rituals in traditional and religious communities also function as ecological and moral mechanisms. In conclusion, the reconstruction of Islamic spiritual values in an environmental context is essential to address contemporary ecological crises, particularly in Indonesia.
