Abstract

The globalization of education presents complex challenges for Islamic educational institutions, including Islamic boarding schools (pesantren). Social changes, technological advancements, and increasing public expectations regarding educational quality demand adaptive and transformative leadership. This study aims to analyze the transformative strategies implemented by the leadership of Jamiah Al Aziziyah Islamic Boarding School in increasing the number of students (santri) in the era of educational globalization.The research employs a qualitative approach using a case study method. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, and then analyzed descriptively and analytically. The findings indicate that the increase in the number of santri was achieved through strengthening the institutional vision, implementing an integrated curriculum innovation, digitalizing promotional strategies, improving the quality of human resources, and introducing a social policy that provides a 50% registration fee reduction for victims of hydrometeorological floods. These strategies not only contributed to a quantitative increase in student enrollment but also strengthened the pesantren’s image as an inclusive Islamic educational institution that is responsive to social realities.

Abstract

This study examines Muhammadiyah's role in Indonesia's contemporary political dynamics, focusing on three main dimensions: the khittah (ideological guideline), political ijtihad as an adaptation mechanism, and national contribution as a manifestation of civic engagement. Using library research with a qualitative-descriptive approach, this study analyzes official Muhammadiyah documents, academic works, and relevant policy reports. The findings indicate that Muhammadiyah has successfully maintained its identity as a socio-religious movement (civil Islam) while responding to political issues affecting the community and the nation. Although not formally affiliated with any political party, Muhammadiyah actively participates in democratic processes through policy advocacy, civic education, and civil society empowerment. This study concludes that Muhammadiyah's model of ethical-critical political engagement represents a unique contribution to democratic consolidation in Indonesia.

Abstract

The role of school committees in formulating participatory and adaptive education policies remains marginal and is often limited to administrative functions. This study aims to explore and revitalize the strategic role of school committees in decision-making processes, particularly at the secondary school level. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through participant observation and semi-structured interviews involving principals, senior teachers, and school committee members. Data analysis was conducted using the Miles and Huberman interactive model, which includes data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The study findings indicate that although school committees are partially involved in planning activities such as budgeting, extracurricular programs, and student admission policies, their involvement in strategic aspects such as curriculum reform and long-term policies remains very limited. This study recommends the need for systematic training on education policy and school governance, the development of practical standard operating procedures (SOPs), and democratic restructuring of committees to ensure institutional independence. Strengthening in these areas will enable school committees to act as effective partners in realizing transparent, accountable, and high-quality education governance.

Abstract

Hindu Religious Education and Character Education have an important role in shaping students’ character and spirituality. However, students’ learning interest in the learning process is still relatively low, as indicated by the lack of participation and enthusiasm during classroom activities. This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model in fostering students’ learning interest in Hindu Religious Education and Character Education at SMP Negeri 5 Sukawati. This research used a qualitative descriptive approach. The subjects of the study consisted of the principal, vice principal of curriculum, Hindu Religious Education teachers, and eighth-grade students. Data were collected through observation, interviews, documentation, and literature study. The collected data were analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that the implementation of the PjBL model was able to increase students’ active participation through project-based activities and collaborative learning. Supporting factors included the role of teachers, adequate school facilities, and students’ enthusiasm in learning. Meanwhile, the inhibiting factors included limited learning time, differences in students’ abilities, and limited facilities. Efforts made to overcome these obstacles were carried out through structured planning, intensive guidance, and optimal utilization of available facilities. Therefore, the implementation of PjBL can create a more active, meaningful, and enjoyable learning atmosphere for students.

Abstract

‘Aisyiyah was founded in 1917 as the first Islamic women’s organization in Indonesia advocating for women’s rights and education amid a patriarchal culture. The organization integrates spiritual, intellectual, and social values within the framework of Progressive Islam. This study aims to examine the contribution of ‘Aisyiyah to improving women’s quality of life in education and empowerment. The study employed a qualitative method using a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach based on PRISMA 2020 guidelines. Data were collected from six scientific articles and official documents of ‘Aisyiyah and Muhammadiyah. The findings show that ‘Aisyiyah contributes to education, gender equality, economic empowerment, spiritual leadership, and gender advocacy. ‘Aisyiyah established schools from the colonial era to higher education institutions, as well as cooperatives, hospitals, and economic training programs to support women’s independence. Spiritual leadership training also improved members’ understanding and skills. This study concludes that ‘Aisyiyah has successfully fostered independent, educated, and empowered women while affirming that Islam can serve as a foundation for women’s empowerment.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan strategi penguasaan kosakata bahasa Arab melalui penggunaan media visual sederhana di lingkungan pesantren. Bahasa Arab memiliki peran penting di pesantren sebagai alat utama dalam memahami Al-Qur’an, hadis, dan literatur klasik Islam. Oleh karena itu, penguasaan kosakata (mufradat) menjadi fondasi utama dalam pengembangan keterampilan berbahasa santri. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi partisipatif, wawancara mendalam, dan dokumentasi di Pesantren Syamsuddhuha Aceh Utara. Subjek penelitian terdiri atas ustadz bahasa Arab, musyrif bahasa, dan santri. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penguasaan kosakata bahasa Arab di pesantren dipengaruhi oleh beberapa faktor utama, yaitu metode hafalan yang terstruktur, penciptaan lingkungan bahasa (bi’ah lughawiyyah), pengulangan kosakata (takrir) secara konsisten, penggunaan media pembelajaran sederhana, serta peran aktif ustadz dan musyrif bahasa. Media visual sederhana seperti papan mufradat, kartu kosakata, dan buku saku terbukti membantu santri dalam memahami dan mengingat kosakata secara lebih efektif. Selain itu, lingkungan bahasa yang kondusif dan pembiasaan penggunaan bahasa Arab dalam aktivitas sehari-hari mempercepat internalisasi kosakata.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dinamika penyelesaian perkara Kekerasan Dalam Rumah Tangga (KDRT) di Gampong Blang, Kabupaten Pidie Jaya, yang melibatkan interaksi antara hukum adat, hukum positif, dan hukum Islam. Menggunakan metode penelitian lapangan dengan pendekatan kualitatif, data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam dengan perangkat gampong, tokoh adat, tokoh agama, dan korban KDRT. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Gampong Blang menerapkan praktik pluralisme hukum yang terintegrasi secara hierarkis. Hukum adat diposisikan sebagai garda terdepan dalam penyelesaian konflik skala ringan hingga sedang melalui mediasi restoratif untuk menjaga harmoni sosial dan nama baik desa. Hukum Islam memberikan landasan moral dengan menekankan pada prinsip mu’asyarah bil ma’ruf dan perlindungan jiwa (hifz al-nafs). Sementara itu, hukum positif (UU No. 23 Tahun 2004) berfungsi sebagai ultimum remedium atau upaya terakhir untuk kasus kekerasan berat yang mengancam nyawa atau saat mediasi adat gagal memberikan efek jera. Kejadian KDRT di Gampong Blang ini bersifat multifaktorial, mulai dari faktor ekonomi yang menjadi akar masalah klasik hingga fenomena baru berupa kekerasan digital yang dipicu oleh penyalahgunaan teknologi informasi atau Hand Phone. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa integrasi ketiga sistem hukum tersebut sangat krusial untuk memberikan perlindungan komprehensif bagi korban. Diperlukan penguatan literasi konflik digital bagi lembaga adat agar proses mediasi tetap relevan dengan tantangan modern tanpa mengabaikan hak asasi manusia dan keselamatan korban.

Abstract

The introduction of Arabic letters still faces challenges in improving students’ motivation and understanding, especially among elementary school-aged children. The importance of introducing hijaiyah letters requires interactive learning media. This study aims to implement Augmented Reality (AR)-based learning media for the introduction of hijaiyah letters and to analyze students’ responses and learning interest toward the media. The method used in this study is a case study method within qualitative research. The subjects of this study were 10 students at Wafa English Course. The data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results show that the learning process was active and interactive. Augmented Reality (AR) media was proven to increase students’ learning interest and help them understand the shapes and pronunciation of Arabic letters more easily. Therefore, Augmented Reality (AR) media is recommended as an effective learning innovation for elementary education.

Abstract

The low level of Arabic vocabulary mastery among Madrasah Ibtidaiyah students remains a major problem in Arabic language learning, mainly due to the dominance of lecture and verbal memorization methods that lack context. This condition also occurs among fifth- grade students at MIN 42 Bireuen, as evidenced by low learning participation and unachieved classical mastery. “This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of using picture cards in improving the mastery of Arabic vocabulary among fifth-grade students at MIN 42 Bireuen. The study used a classroom action research (CAR) approach, which was carried out in two cycles with the stages of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. There were 25 students in the study. Data were collected through vocabulary learning outcome tests and observation of learning activities, then analyzed quantitatively and descriptively. The results showed that the students' average scores increased from 56.40 in the pre-action to 65.68 in Cycle I and 82.32 in Cycle II, with the percentage of classical mastery increasing to 88%. These findings indicate that picture cards are an effective medium for improving students' mastery of mufradāt.” This study contributes empirically to strengthening the application of dual coding theory through a reflective and contextual two-cycle PTK design in Arabic language learning at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh lingkungan sekolah terhadap motivasi siswa dalam belajar bahasa Arab di SDIT Ar-Ratibi, Aceh Utara. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis studi kasus. Subjek penelitian terdiri atas guru bahasa Arab, siswa, dan kepala sekolah yang dipilih melalui teknik purposive sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data meliputi observasi, wawancara mendalam, dan dokumentasi, sedangkan analisis data menggunakan model interaktif Miles dan Huberman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa lingkungan sekolah berpengaruh signifikan terhadap motivasi belajar siswa melalui empat aspek utama, yaitu lingkungan fisik, sosial, akademik, dan religius. Lingkungan fisik yang nyaman meningkatkan fokus belajar, lingkungan sosial yang suportif menumbuhkan rasa percaya diri, lingkungan akademik yang variatif meningkatkan keterlibatan siswa, dan lingkungan religius memperkuat motivasi intrinsik. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa lingkungan sekolah merupakan faktor penting yang membentuk motivasi belajar siswa dalam pembelajaran bahasa Arab.
