Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of consumer-influencer congruence, consumer-product congruence, influencer-product congruence, and arousal on online impulse buying intentions among TikTok Shop users, with wishful identification as a moderating variable. The study used a quantitative approach by collecting data through questionnaires from respondents who had accessed and shopped at TikTok Shop, then analyzed using the Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) method assisted by SmartPLS. The research model tested 8 hypotheses to explain the direct relationship and moderating effects between variables. The test results showed that of the 8 hypotheses proposed, 4 hypotheses were accepted and 4 hypotheses were rejected. The research findings indicate that not all congruence dimensions are consistently able to drive online impulse buying intentions, but the arousal variable is proven to have an important role in shaping spontaneous buying impulses in the context of social commerce on TikTok Shop. On the other hand, wishful identification shows a selective moderating role, so the effectiveness of the relationship between consumer, influencer, and product congruence on impulse buying intentions depends on the form of consumer psychological attachment to the influencer. This research provides theoretical contributions to the development of digital marketing and consumer behavior literature, as well as practical implications for business actors and marketers in designing more effective influencer-based promotional strategies to encourage impulse purchases on the TikTok Shop platform.

Abstract

This study examines the open unemployment rate (TPT) in Banten Province for the period 2015–2024. Unemployment remains a serious problem in Indonesia, including in Banten, known as an industrial area and a buffer zone for the capital city. Data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) shows that the TPT in Banten tends to be higher than the national average, with a fluctuating trend. A sharp increase occurred in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but after that the unemployment rate gradually decreased until 2024. The main factors influencing the high unemployment rate in Banten include the imbalance between the workforce and jobs, the mismatch between workforce skills and industry needs, high urbanization, and uneven quality of education. The conclusion of this analysis is that although employment conditions in Banten have shown improvement, structural challenges still need to be addressed. Therefore, the government is advised to increase job creation through investment, development of MSMEs and the creative economy, and strengthening education and skills training to better prepare the workforce for the demands of the modern job market.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of work-life balance and work motivation on meaning of work among single women in their 30s and 40s working in multinational Public Relations (PR) agencies in South Jakarta. Meaning of work refers to the degree to which individuals perceive their work as significant, purposeful, and contributing to a greater good. The participants were 20 single women aged 30–49 who had been employed for over one year, selected through purposive sampling. A quantitative correlational approach was employed using Likert-scale questionnaires. Pearson correlation and multiple regression analysis revealed that both work-life balance and work motivation were positively and significantly correlated with meaning of work. These findings suggest that a better balance between work and personal life and stronger work motivation contribute to a deeper sense of meaning in work for single women navigating demanding professional environments during a critical life stage.

Abstract

Open unemployment is a macroeconomic issue that directly impacts public welfare and poverty levels. This study analyzes the trend of open unemployment in Bengkulu Province for the period 2015–2024 using data from the Central Statistics Agency. The analysis shows that the open unemployment rate in Bengkulu tends to be lower than the national average, with a consistent downward trend except for a spike in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Local sectors such as agriculture and plantations have proven more resilient to crises than the service sector in urban areas. Post-pandemic economic recovery is reflected in a decrease in the Open Unemployment Rate (TPT) to 3.11% in 2024. This study emphasizes the importance of strengthening the local economic sector, diversifying employment through MSMEs and the creative sector, and training workforce skills as strategies to reduce unemployment and improve public welfare.

Abstract

Honor killing in Western diasporas remains a serious concern because migration to host states does not automatically dismantle the logic of honor that ties family reputation to the control of women’s bodies, intimate relations, and life choices. This study examines the relationship between honor, migration, community identity, and patriarchy; identifies the patterns, triggers, and forms of honor-based violence; and analyzes legal responses and prevention strategies in the United Kingdom, Germany, and Canada. The research employs normative legal methodology through statutory, case-based, and comparative approaches. Primary legal materials consist of legislation and judicial decisions, supported by secondary materials on honor, diaspora, gender-based violence, and victim protection. The analysis finds that honor in diaspora settings no longer functions merely as a private family concern, but also as a means of preserving minority community boundaries under pressures of assimilation and intergenerational tension. Violence then develops through an escalating continuum, beginning with surveillance, restrictions on mobility, threats, forced marriage, and social isolation, and in some cases ending in homicide. The United Kingdom and Canada illustrate stronger preventive mechanisms through forced marriage protection and criminal law measures, while Germany demonstrates a firm rejection of honor-based motives through general homicide law. The study argues that effective responses require a combination of legal firmness, accessible early protection, and institutional sensitivity that does not slide into either cultural permissiveness or the stigmatization of minority communities.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of peer conformity and the intensity of social media use on students’ learning interest. In the context of modern education, learning interest is influenced not only by internal factors but also by social and digital environments that increasingly dominate adolescents' lives. This research employed a quantitative approach with a correlational design. The subjects were 162 high school students in Purworejo Regency, selected using accidental sampling technique. Data were collected through questionnaires measuring peer conformity, social media usage intensity, and learning interest. The data were analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results showed that peer conformity did not have a significant effect on learning interest, while the intensity of social media use had a significant effect on learning interest. Simultaneously, both variables were found to significantly influence students’ learning interest. These findings indicate that digital factors play a more dominant role compared to social factors in shaping students' learning interest. Therefore, proper management of social media use is necessary to support students’ academic engagement.

Abstract

This research analyzes the influence of business duration, working capital, type of goods sold, and trader age on traders' income at Aurduri Market. A quantitative approach using multiple linear regression analysis through SPSS 30 and eview 30 was applied to primary data from 60 market traders. The F-test results indicate that all four variables simultaneously and significantly affect income (F-statistic = 285.8498; Prob(F-statistic) = 0.000 < 0.05). Individually, each variable also shows positive and significant effects (p < 0.05), suggesting that increases in business duration, capital amount, suitability of goods sold, and trader age lead to higher income. The coefficient of determination R² = 0.954 (95.41%) demonstrates that the model explains most income variation, with 4.59% influenced by other factors. Validity testing via Corrected Item-Total Correlation confirms all indicators are valid (range 0.977–0.985 > 0.30), while reliability testing yields Cronbach's Alpha = 0.992 (> 0.90), indicating highly reliable instruments. These findings offer practical contributions for traditional market managers to enhance trader welfare through optimized working capital, strategic commodity selection, business experience development, and empowerment of productive-age traders. The study also enriches microeconomic literature on income determinants for traditional market traders in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the dynamics of the labor market and the Open Unemployment Rate (OUR) in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Province during the 2020–2024 period and its projection toward 2026. This research employs a qualitative descriptive method using a secondary data analysis approach derived from Statistics Indonesia (BPS) and relevant literature. The findings indicate that the OUR in NTB has consistently declined from 4.22% in 2020 to 2.73% in 2024, remaining below the national average. However, the low unemployment rate does not fully reflect labor welfare, as it is still dominated by the informal sector, high underemployment, and skill mismatches with industry demands. Therefore, strengthening vocational education, improving human resource quality, and formalizing MSMEs are essential to promote inclusive and sustainable economic growth in the region.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the disparity in the Human Development Index (HDI) between districts/cities in Jambi Province, which reflects inequality in the quality of human development. This difference in development levels is a crucial issue because it can impact community welfare and equitable development across regions. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the disparity in the HDI among districts/cities and to calculate the influence of per capita GDP, capital expenditure, the number of poor people, and the open unemployment rate on the HDI of districts and cities in Jambi Province from 2017 to 2024. The analytical methods used in this study include descriptive and quantitative analysis, using the Williamson Index to measure the level of HDI inequality, and panel data regression to analyze the influence of variables affecting the HDI. The results indicate that during the 2017–2024 period, there was moderate HDI inequality in Jambi Province. However, the HDI gap between districts/cities tended to increase in the 2021–2024 period.  Furthermore, the regression analysis results show that GRDP per capita, capital expenditure, the number of poor people, and the unemployment rate significantly influence the HDI in Jambi Province.

Abstract

Provides a detailed summary of the research This study aims to determine the effect of self-compassion on academic burnout in students working on their final assignments (thesis). The thesis writing process often triggers significant academic pressure that impacts physical and emotional exhaustion, and loss of motivation. In this context, self-compassion is considered a crucial internal coping mechanism to mitigate the risk of burnout. The research method used is quantitative with simple linear regression analysis techniques. The research subjects were 183 students at Muhammadiyah University of Purworejo selected using the Stratified Quota Sampling technique. The data collection instrument in this study used a self-compassion scale and an academic burnout scale. Data analysis also included classical assumption tests such as normality, multicollinearity, and heteroscedasticity tests. The results of the study indicate a highly significant negative influence between self-compassion on academic burnout. Quantitative findings indicate that the self-compassion variable contributes 94.7% to the variation in student burnout levels, while the remaining 5.3% is influenced by other factors outside the study. This proves that the higher students' ability to apply self-compassion, the lower their perceived level of academic burnout. The conclusion of this study confirms that self-compassion serves as an effective psychological buffer for final-year students. By adopting a non-judgmental attitude (self-kindness), recognizing difficulties as a common part of the learning process (common humanity), and maintaining mindfulness, students can be more adaptive in managing stress during thesis writing.
