Abstract

The global tourism and hospitality industry continues to show rapid growth, making significant contributions to economic development, job creation, and education. Lampung Province is experiencing similar developments, marked by an increase in the number of tourits visits and significant growth in accommodation businesses. This competitive hospitality sector demands human resources (HR) with superior skills (work skills) and work motivation, which can be obtained through internship programs. Internship programs are designed to provide practical experience to students, so that they are better prepared to face the world of work. This study aims to analyze the influence of work motivation and work skills on career decisions, with internship programs as a moderating variable in the Lampung Province hospitality industry. The study focuses on hotel employees from formal and non-formal educational institutions, who have participated in internship programs in accordance with vocational education policies in Indonesia. With this approach, the study is expected to fill the gap from previous studies, as well as provide recommendations for educational institution managers and industry players to improve the work readiness of graduates in supporting the competitiveness of the hospitality sector. This research methodology uses a quantitative approach to test the relationship between variables. The object of this study was starred hotel workers in Lampung who participated in an internship program, with a population of 1,499 people. A sample of 266 respondents was selected using purposive sampling based on internship experience criteria, according to Roscoe's theory for multivariate research. The test results showed that Work Motivation and Work Skill had a positive and significant effect on Career Decision. Internship Program moderation also strengthened the relationship, where Work Motivation and Work Skill moderated by the Internship Program significantly influenced Career Decision. This confirms the importance of motivation, skills, and internship experience in supporting career decisions.

Abstract

Employee well-being has become an important indicator in measuring a company's success in managing human resources. This study aims to analyze the role of coping strategies in mediating the effect of work stress and work environment on employees' subjective well-being. This study uses a quantitative approach. The population in this study consists of all employees of XYZ Company, totaling 50 employees. This study uses data analysis methods using SmartPLS software version 3.2.7. PLS or Partial Least Square test is a structural equation modeling (SEM) approach based on variance. The results of this study found that work stress does not affect employees' subjective well-being. Work stress does not affect coping strategies. Work environment affects employees' subjective well-being. Work environment affects coping strategies. Coping strategies have a significant effect on employees' subjective well-being. Coping strategies mediate the effect of work stress on employees' subjective well-being insignificantly. Coping strategies mediate the effect of work environment on employees' subjective well-being insignificantly. Therefore, a supportive work environment, including positive relationships with colleagues and management, has been shown to increase employees' subjective well-being. Social support and resources provided by the work environment help employees choose more adaptive coping strategies. In addition, the use of adaptive coping strategies, both problem-focused and emotion-focused, contributes positively to employees' happiness and life satisfaction.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the income and feasibility of rat stamp farming in Motoling District. Based on data obtained from 35 respondents, the average monthly revenue from the rat stamp business reached Rp.176,600,000, with an average total production cost of Rp.43,575,000. After calculating the cost of labor and raw materials, an average net income of Rp.2,755,000 per farmer per month was obtained. The business feasibility analysis using the R/C ratio method showed a value of 4.05, which indicates that every Rp.1 spent is able to generate revenue of Rp.4.05. With an R/C ratio of more than 1, rat cap farming in Motoling District is considered feasible and profitable to run. The results of this study recommend several development strategies, including increasing production efficiency, diversifying products, and strengthening marketing networks. In addition, it is recommended to establish a cooperative to support the collectivity of farmers in the purchase of raw materials and product marketing. Through the implementation of this strategy, it is hoped that the rat stamp farming business can improve the welfare of local farmers and have the potential for further development.

Abstract

The construction of the Nusantara Capital City (IKN) Expressway, Segment Pulau Balang Bridge – Sp. Riko, is part of the toll road network supporting accessibility in East Kalimantan Province. In this project, a geotechnical analysis was conducted on the embankment at STA 1+325 to STA 1+475 to ensure the stability and bearing capacity of the subsoil. The investigation results indicate that the surface soil conditions in the area exhibit low stability characteristics, with an average cone resistance (qc) value ranging from 4 to 8 kg/cm² at a depth of 2 meters, indicating very soft to soft soil consistency. To address the soil bearing capacity issue, various improvement methods were applied, including subsoil replacement with granular material up to 2 meters thick and stability analysis using PLAXIS 2D software. The modeling results show that the safety factor without treatment was 1.350 under service conditions and 1.116 under seismic conditions, which did not meet design criteria. After implementing the 2-meter replacement method, the safety factor increased to 1.715 under service conditions and 1.258 under seismic conditions, thus meeting stability standards. Therefore, the 2.0-meter replacement method is recommended as an effective solution to enhance the bearing capacity and embankment stability in the study area.

Abstract

Patient safety is one of the main aspects of healthcare services that must be considered to prevent harmful medical incidents. Risk management is an effective approach to identifying, analyzing, and mitigating potential hazards in healthcare facilities. This study employs a literature review method to analyze risk management strategies in enhancing patient safety. The findings indicate that the implementation of risk identification and mitigation systems, healthcare worker training, the utilization of technology such as electronic medical records, and a transparent incident reporting system can significantly reduce potentially harmful events for patients. However, the implementation of these strategies still faces several challenges, such as a lack of awareness among medical personnel, infrastructure limitations, and obstacles in changing the culture of safety in the workplace. Therefore, collaboration between medical personnel, hospital management, and the government is crucial to ensuring the effectiveness of risk management implementation in healthcare facilities. With the right strategies and commitment from various stakeholders, patient safety can be continuously improved, leading to safer and higher-quality healthcare services.
