Abstract

Research on the formulation and physical stability test of 96% ethanol extract serum preparations from avocado seeds (Persea americana Mill). This study aimed to evaluate the physical stability of several serum preparation formulations of avocado seed ethanol extract with different concentrations. The research method was 5 kg of avocado seeds). Experimental research to determine whether 96% ethanol extract of avocado seeds using three concentrations, namely 5%, 7.5% and 10%, could be formulated into a facial serum preparation. This research used a physical stability test method for serum preparations used the cycling test method, which includes organoleptic tests, pH tests, homogeneity tests, viscosity tests, spreadability tests and adhesion tests. The results showed that the secondary metabolite compounds contained in the 96% ethanol extract of avocado seeds were alkaloids, flavonoids, saponins, tannins, steroids or triterpenoids; 96% ethanol extract of avocado seeds could be formulated as a serum preparation, and the stability test results of all serum preparation formulations had good standards for organoleptics, homogeneity, pH, viscosity, spreadability and adhesiveness. The F2 serum preparation (glycerin concentration 7.5%) experienced small changed, so the stability of the F2 serum preparation was better than other preparations. Ethanol extract of avocado seeds could be made into a serum formulation, F2 formulation which had the best physical stability.

Abstract

Body scrub is a liquid or semi-solid dosage form in the form of an emulsion to remove dead skin cell dirt and provide skin moisture. Bay leaves (Syzygium polyantum) are also used as medicine. It is found that bay leaf extract has very strong antioxidant activity. Bay leaves contain alkaloids, flavonoids, tannins and saponins. This research carried out the formulation and antioxidant activity test of 70% ethanol extract of bay leaves with concentrations of 10%, 15% and 20%. Body Scrub was tested for antioxidants with vitamin C as a comparison. The goal this research was to find out that a body scrub with 70% ethanol extract of S. polyantum could make the skin soft and moist and improved the skin. This research was conducted experimentally. Tests in this research include organoleptic tests, pH, viscosity, homogeneity, spreadability, stickiness, and antioxidant activity tests. Bay leaf extract with concentrations of 10%, 15% and 20%. The results showed that the antioxidant activity of bay leaves according to the IC50 value showed that formula 3 has an IC50 value ranging between 177.338 ± 45.14 ppm and had a weak category value, while formula 1 and formula 2 respectively had an IC50 value of 550.25 ± 169.24 ppm; 362.07±122.08 ppm in the very weak category. The conclusion was the highest body scrub preparation formula for 70% ethanol extract of bay leaves was Formula III with a concentration of 20% with an IC50 value of 177.338 ± 45.14 ppm (weak category).

Abstract

Medinilla speciosa contains flavonoids, saponins, tannins and alkaloids which have activity as anti-biofilm, antibacterial, antioxidant, antiseptic and play a role in tissue regeneration in the wound healing process. This study aimed to prove the activity of M. speciosa fruit made in ointment and its optimal concentration in healing second degree burns. This research was an experimental study in the laboratory to analyze the secondary metabolite content of flavonoids, saponins, tannins, alkaloids, and the burn wound healing activity of M. speciosa ethanol. This research used 3 rabbits as test animals and created 5 standardized wound locations on the rabbits' backs. Wound standardization was carried out using a heated 2 cm diameter metal plate. At 5 wound locations, each was given a test ointment preparation with a concentration of 0.075%, 0.15%, 0.30%, ointment base (negative control), and mebo ointment (positive control) for 10 days with the parameter measured being the diameter of the wound. The physical properties of the ointment include organoleptic tests, homogeneity, viscosity, spreadability and adhesiveness. The data obtained was analyzed statistically using analysis of variance. The result of this research were the all concentrations of M. speciosa fruit ethanol extract ointment showed a burn healing effect. The best wound healing based on statistical data results was shown by M. speciosa fruit extract ointment with a concentration of 0.30% with an average percentage of wound diameter closure that was the same as the positive control, namely 100% on day 10.

Abstract

Work stress is one of the main challenges faced by hospital employees and has the potential to hinder the achievement of institutional goals. The high workload, shift work system, and psychological and physical pressure make health workers vulnerable to occupational stress. This study is a literature review of 11 scientific articles obtained from databases such as Google Scholar, Scopus, and PubMed with a publication year range of 2018 to 2025. The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of work stress on the achievement of hospital goals. The results showed that job stress negatively impacts quality of work life, job satisfaction, motivation, organizational citizenship behavior, and individual performance. These impacts directly or indirectly affect the quality of service and the effectiveness of the hospital organization in achieving its goals. Therefore, comprehensive management of work stress is a strategic step in maintaining the well-being of health workers and supporting the achievement of hospital goals.
