Abstract

Baruan River is one of the rivers located in Jaya Baru Village, Salang District, Simeulue Regency, Aceh, Indonesia. The availability of related references regarding fish are still limited, especially freshwater fish in the Baruan River which is still not available. This study aims to determine the diversity of fish species in the Baruan River. The research was conducted from 9 June - 15 June 2019. The research method used was direct observation (inventory survey), by observing directly in the field where the research was located. Taking of fish samples is divided into three sample points. The tools used are fishing nets, fishing rods and traps. The results obtained 6 species from 120 individual fish; Gabus fish (Channa striata), Rice field eel (Monopterus albus), Mullet (Mugil cephalus), Betok / Papuyu (Anabas testudineus), Seriding (Ambassis nalua) and Laaya / Alabul (Acentrogobius caninus). Diversity index of fish species is H? = 1.532, this value is included in the medium category. While the evenness index value E? = 0.854, it means that the fish spread in the Baruan River is evenly distributed. The dominance index value is D = 0.756 or classified as low, meaning that there are no fish species that dominate the Baruan River. Keywords: Baruan River, diversity index, evenness, fish, dominance.

Abstract

Research on "The Effect of Barangan Banana peel Waste on Tomato Plant Growth" aims to determine the effect of giving barangan banana peel waste on the growth of tomato plants, and to determine how many doses of barangan banana peel waste can affect the growth of tomato plants. The method used was experimental design with a non-factorial randomized block design (RBD) with a combination of 5 treatments in 4 groups. Parameters measured were stem height, number of leaves, wet weight, and dry weight of tomato plants. Data analysis used ANOVA test followed by the least significant difference test and Duncan's test. The least significant difference test is only used on the height of the tomato stems 15 days after planting because the number of coefficient of diversity obtained is 20%. The results showed that the application of barangan banana peel waste to tomato plants had a significant effect on stem height, wet weight and dry weight, but did not significantly affect the number of leaves. The highest measurement results obtained from stem height, number of leaves, wet weight and dry weight at the age of 15 dast to 45 dst were P3 treatment by giving 1200 g / plot of banana peel waste and the lowest results for tomato stem height, number of leaves, wet weight and dry weight was obtained in treatment P0 (without giving banana peel waste). From the study results, it can be concluded that the application of barangan banana peel waste affects the growth of tomato plants.

Abstract

The creativity of students in Indonesia is still low compared to other countries. The low of biological creativity is caused by the use of less constructivist learning methods or models. This research was conducted to determine and describe the effect of project based learning on student creativity on environmental pollution material at MAN Model, Banda Aceh. This study used a quantitative descriptive approach with a quasi-experimental design through a one shot case study design. The population in this study were all students of class X MAN Model Banda Aceh with samples taken were students of class X IPA 2. The sample selection used purposive sampling technique. Moreover, the collecting data in this study used a creativity assessment observation sheet. Meanwhile, data processing applied a one-sample t-test statistic (one sample t-test). Based on the results of the t test, it is found that tcount = 50.08 and ttable = 2.04, so tcount (50.08) ttable (2.04). This shows that if tcount ttable, then Ha = accepted, whereas if tcount ttable, then H0 = accepted. Significant levels are ? = 0.05 and dk (n-1). Therefore, because tcount ttable, then Ha is accepted. In conclusion, the alternative hypothesis (Ha) which states that Project Based Learning affects students creativity in environmental pollution material is accepted.

Abstract

Numerous previous studies have proven the efficacy of dodecanoic acid contained by VCO as an antimicrobial, especially antiviral. The global urgency of COVID-19 treatment caused by the 2019-nCoV virus has prompted many researchers around the world to seek effective drugs to cure this infectious disease. Based on the claim that dodecanoic acid and its derivatives can be used as an antiviral, this study aims to determine the levels of VCO dodecanoic acid produced from the traditional yeast fermentation of Aceh, Indonesia. The making of VCO through fermentation with the addition of starter yeast as much as 10% in coconut milk. Analysis of dodecanoic acid levels was performed using Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectroscopy (GC-MS). The results showed that the composition of dodecanoic acid in VCO-pe was higher than VCO-ti. VCO-pe contains about 44.23% dodecanoic acid, while VCO-ti contains about 43.63% dodecanoic acid. The composition of dodecanoic acid contained in VCO-pe was higher than VCO-ti. The composition of dodecanoic acid in VCO has met APCC standards, namely 43.0% -53.0%. These results could append new information about the application of dodecanoic acid in VCO as an antiviral candidate against 2019-nCoV which causes the COVID-19 outbreak. Keywords: antimicrobial, coronavirus, COVID-19, levels of lauric acid, virgin coconut oil
