Abstract

Abstract

Bu Kati soy milk, an MSME in Kudus that was established in 2015, experienced a decline in sales due to unattractive packaging, easy to leak, and product durability of only one day at room temperature. This study aims to increase consumer interest and extend the product's shelf life so that it can be consumed longer. The problem solving was carried out by combining the Quality Function Deployment (QFD) method to design a packaging design that suits consumer desires, and the Geneva Emotion Wheel (GEW) method to measure consumer emotions towards old and new packaging. From the design results, three designs with bottle sizes of 250 ml, 300 ml, and 350 ml were produced. The 3rd design with a bottle size of 250 ml was chosen because it was considered the most appropriate by consumers. The comparison between the old packaging and the newly designed packaging showed an increase of more than 25% in consumer interest, indicating that the new packaging was more in line with their desires. The new packaging also extended the product's shelf life to two days at room temperature, meeting the established success criteria. In addition, evaluation using the Geneva Emotion Wheel (GEW) method showed an increase in positive emotions and a decrease in negative emotions, indicating an increase in consumer interest in Bu Kati's soy milk products.

Abstract

The productivity of filling machines is a critical factor in the skincare industry, but it is often hampered by various losses that have not been comprehensively measured. This research aims to identify the dominant types of losses affecting the efficiency of filling machines at PT XYZ through a qualitative approach. Based on the analysis, it turns out that at PT XYZ, there are 3 products with the highest loss percentages, namely A Body Wash, C Shampoo, and A Hand Wash. Among these products, A Body Wash has the lowest productivity achievement, with 20% of the products reaching a productivity rate of below 1%. The productivity of filling machines for skincare companies needs to show a tendency for low productivity values for Body Wash products.

Abstract

Many web-based applications have been developed to help business activities. Web-based applications can be accessed from computers or mobile phones with various specifications and memory capacities, making it easier for many users. In this research, a web-based application was developed to assist in forecasting and planning activities for purchasing broiler chickens to be sold by a small business. Forecasting and purchase planning for broiler chickens were carried out to overcome shortages and excess supplies caused by fluctuating demand and the absence of sales recording and evaluation. Forecasting is carried out using the FB Prophet method which has the smallest error. Purchase calculation takes into account weight loss and losses due to dead chickens. The design starts with designing the user interface, creating source code, testing, and deploying the program. The application was built with Visual Studio Code with the Python programming language, Flask micro-framework, and XAMPP localhost. The web-based application that has been created helps owners and workers determine purchase amounts and show previous historical data. This application helps make planning easier and more accurate.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the level of ergonomic risk of production workers and ergonomic body posture with the proposal of aids using the Workplace Ergonomic Risk Assessment (WERA) and Novel Ergonomic Postural Assessment (NERPA) methods at the Dila Cracker Factory. Analysis of work posture using the WERA method shows a moderate level of risk with a score of 38 for printing and 37 for drying, meaning that this work needs to be reviewed and changed. The results of the NERPA method assessment show a high risk with a score of 7, requiring further research and immediate action. To reduce this risk, a design of work aids is proposed in the form of a table for printing with dimensions of 60 cm x 50 cm x 100 cm and a stacking trolley for drying with dimensions of 84 cm x 77 cm x 134 cm. The use of aids makes the worker's posture more ergonomic: straight back, 90° angle forearm, normal wrist for printing, and straight back, 22° angle forearm, 79° angle forearm for drying. This proposed assistive device reduced the WERA score to 27 and the NERPA score to 3 and 4, indicating a reduced risk of musculoskeletal injury.

Abstract

F&B outlet, located in Sumarecon Mall Serpong, has a problem with long customer waiting times. Based on the root cause analysis, the cause was found to be human and machine factors. This study aims to analyze the queuing system of the F&B outlet and provide suggestions for improvement based on root cause analysis using simulation. The simulation software used is Promodel Software. The research methodology will begin with the creation of a simulation model based on actual data after the initial model has been tested for verification and validation. The initial model will be compared with 3 proposed improvements, namely ergonomic proposals, machine proposals and combination proposals, using the ANOVA method, using the waiting time as a comparison variable. The results showed that the 3rd proposal was able to provide savings in customer waiting time in taking orders by 40%. This is because the order-making process is much faster due to the proposals in terms of ergonomics and tool replacement, so that it can speed up the work process.
