Abstract

The objectivees of this research were; to acquered of vegetation in Banda Aceh beach after tsunami, to find expression about of composition, association, species diversity index (H’), similarity index (IS), and species distribution pattern.The stage of research were; observation and segmentation of study area. The size of study area is 420 ha, and sample area is 10% of population. The station of sampling is (a). Meulaboh District Beach (MDB), (b). Aceh Jaya District Beach (AJDB), and Lhoknga District Beach (LDB). For each of sampling location a given ten sampling quadrat with five replication. total sample are 50 quadrats. The observated variable is number of  spec                ies, absolute diversity, absolute frequency, and absolute dominance. The calculated of importance value used formula is DR + FR + DMR., and calculated of species diversity index with Shannon-Wiener formula. The category of species diversity index is; if H’1 very low category, H’1-2 low category, H’2-3 median category, and H’3-4 high category.The result of this research are; (a). The vegetation physiognomy in Meulaboh District Beach, (b).Aceh Jaya District Beach, and Lhoknga District Beach were fundamental changed after tsunami, (c). The planting of mangrove species in Aceh West Beach didn’t resulted yet optimalization, (d). Dominance of tree in Aceh West Beach were Casuarina equisetifolia, and Cocos nucifera, dominance of underbrush were Calatropis gigantea, and Vernonia cinerea, and dominance of herbs species were Ipomoea pescaprae, and Chloris barbata (5). The moment effort is necessary for serious reclamation in Aceh West Beach after tsunami specific.

Abstract

The study was aimed to determine the description and classification of questions, distribution of questions raised by teachers, capability of teachers and the techniques, and the effect of the techniques on student achievement. The method was quantitative descriptive. The data was collected from 1 st April to 30th 2013 in 14 junior high schools in Banda Aceh throught pretest and posttest . Moreover, teachers were given sheets of observation of questioning teachnique, records of teaching learning activity, and questionare. Data was analysed descriptivelly and by using regretion-correlation analysis. The results showed that in terms of knowlegde aspect, only 25,53 % of the total teachers had skill to evolve student thinking skill, 2,16 % (cognitive aspect), and 4,32 % (scientific psychomotoric skill). Furthermore, it has been found that the questions were not spread evenly and only 53,33 % of  the total teachers had the capability in improving student thinking skill throught  questions. The techniques were probing (13,33 %) and redirecting (86,67 %). Moreover, the persentage of total teachers who have raised questions in good criteria  was 13,33  and only 1,48 % of the total teachers who had the technique contributing in improvement of student achievement (less correlation).

Abstract

Arthropoda permukaan tanah merupakan Arthropoda yang melakukan aktivitas makan, reproduksi, dan aktivitas mencari makanan di permukaan tanah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi Arthropoda permukaan tanah sampai tingkat ordo pada habitat hutan berbeda ketinggian di kawasan hutan Telaga Warna Puncak Bogor. Penelitian dilakukan di kawasan hutan Telaga Warna Puncak Bogor, dan pengambilan data dilakukan pada lokasi A : hutan bagian bawah, ketinggian ± 1.500 dpl, lokasi B : hutan bagian atas,ketinggian ± 1.600 dpl, lokasi C : hutan pinggiran telaga, ketinggian ± 1.400 dpl, lokasi D : hutan dekat pondok, ketinggian ± 1.400 dpl. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode pitfall trap, yang diletakkan pada habitat hutan yang memiliki ketinggian yang berbeda. Arthropoda yang diperoleh diindentifikasi sampai tingkat ordo, dan dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pada kawasan hutan dengan ketinggian ± 1.500 dpl diperoleh 35 individu dari ordo Amphipoda, Araneae, Blattodea, Coleoptera, Collembola, Diptera, Homoptera, Hymenoptera, Lepidoptera, Orthoptera, pada ketinggian ± 1.600 dpl diperoleh 89 individu dari Ordo Amphipoda, Araneae, Coleoptera, Collembola, Diptera, Hymenoptera, Orthoptera, pinggiran telaga pada ketinggian ± 1.400 dpl diperoleh 29 individu dari Ordo Araneae, Coleoptera, Collembola, Diptera, Hymenoptera, Orthoptera, dan hutan dekat pondok dengan ketinggian ± 1.400 dpl diperoleh 26 individu dari Ordo Amphipoda, Collembola, Diptera, Hymenoptera, Orthoptera. Kesimpulan diperoleh adalah pada  kawasan hutan Telaga Warna Puncak ditemukan 10 ordo dan 179 individu dari Arthropoda.

Abstract

The effort to master the competency can be done by creating a planned learning community, systematic, and continuous (continuous improvement). An alternative attempt to do to make continuous improvement is through Lesson Study. The purpose of this study is to determine the application of RQA learning combined by TPS through lesson study on student learning outcomes. Lesson Study conducted in three (3) stages: Plan (planning), Do (implement), and See (reflection). Subjects in the test phase the product user groups through lesson study, were 29 students (rombel 1), 3 members from the team of Plant Anatomy course, and 4 graduate students of Biology Education FKIP Syiah Kuala who has got the socialization Lesson study as an observer. Learning materials that has been agreed is: plant cells. The data analysis was conducted descriptively on the observation sheet, sheet discussions, and learning outcomes (postes), and student responses. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that: The application of RQA strategy combined with TPS through lesson study can improve student learning activity in plant cell material. Postes values shown 44.83% of students obtained A, 41.37% of students obtained B +, and 13.80% of students obtained B. Student response to the strategy that used by the implementation of lesson study is very good. Learning strategies which received is a new thing for them, make them aware about the importance of independence in learning. In addition, the learning that they follow, have been able to set up a new way of their learning, and able to evaluate the learning that they do. They agreed to implement these strategies in studying other biology course.

Abstract

Anopheles sp. is vector that carrying plasmodium which causes the emergence of malaria which is one of the diseases with a high presentation in Indonesia, so it needs special treatment such as using synthetic insect repellent or mosquito repellent herbs. Clove (Syzygium aromaticum L.) is one of the mosquito repellent herbs that has been used for generations by the people of Maluku, by burning their leaves and smoked them in the house. This study aims to determine the repellent of steeping clove leaves (Syzygium aromaticum L.) towards Anopheles sp. The experimental design used was a completely randomized design (CRD). The results obtained were analyzed by Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) then continued with Duncan Test with sig. value is α=0.05 using SAS software. The samples were 18 rats, which were divided into 6 groups. Each group was given steeping clove leaves with a concentration of 0,50%, 1% concentration, 2% concentration, 4% concentration, 6% concentration, and control group. The sample was adapted for a week, then treated for 24 hours. The results showed a repellent effect of steeping clove leaves (Syzygium aromaticum L.) on Anopheles sp mosquitoes smeared on Rattus norvegicus rats, where the effective concentrations were 1%, 2%, 4%, and 6%, so it can be concluded that steeping clove leaves (Syzygium aromaticum L.) has the effect of repelling Anopheles sp.

Abstract

The research of antibacterial ability from Anacardium occidentale (Anacardiaceae), Lawsonia inermis (Lythraceae), Averrhoa bilimbi, Averrhoa carambola (Oxalidaceae), Capsicum frutescens and Solanum torvum (Solanaceae) to Escherichia coli ATCC 25922 and Staphylococcus  aureus ATCC 29213 was done from Mei until November 2010 at Microbiology laboratory, Natural Science, Syiah Kuala University. Leave and barks extracts of plant was soluted using n-Hexane solution. Antibacterial activities was tested by using diffusion method with each concentrations 10%, 20%, and 30%. The result showed that plants leaves and barks had ability to inhibit the growth of Staphylococcus  aureus ATCC 29213. The largest of inhibition zone was formed by L. inermis leaves extract in 6 mm. Meanwhile C. frutescens barks extract was showed inhibition zone in 5 mm.

Abstract

Pembelajaran berbasis praktikum merupakan metode yang dapat membantu mahasiswa menemukan fakta dari teori yang dipelajarinya pada perkuliahan anatomi tumbuhan, sehingga mahasiswa memiliki kemampuan kognitif dan psikomotorik yang handal dalam membedakan struktur bagian dalam tumbuhan melalui pengamatan dengan mikroskop. Penelitian ini telah dilakukan pada bulan Juni sampai dengan September 2013 di STKIP Bina Bangsa Meulaboh. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan kognitif dan psikomotorik mahasiswa, kemampuan dosen membimbing dan melaksanakan pembelajaran, tanggapan mahasiswa terhadap penerapan pembelajaran berbasis praktikum pada perkuliahan anatomi tumbuhan. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimen dan metode yang digunakan adalah metode kuantitatif dengan desain penelitian kontrol grup pretes dan postes. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah instrumen tes kemampuan kognitif, lembar observasi mahasiswa dan dosen serta angket. Data kemampuan kognitif dianalisis dengan menggunakan  uji t. Data peningkatan kemampuan psikomotorik, kemampuan dosen dan tanggapan mahasiswa dianalisis dengan menggunakan persentase. Hasil uji statistik untuk kemampuan kognitif menunjukkan nilai t-hitung 6,2, maka t-hitung dari t-tabel 1,6. Kemampuan psikimotorik mahasiswa kelas eksperimen sebelum pembelajaran adalah 3,3% dan setelah pembelajaran 53,3%. Kemampuan dosen dalam membimbing dan melaksanakan kegiatan praktikum adalah 100%. Penerapan pembelajaran memperoleh tanggapan yaitu 58% mahasiswa sangat setuju dengan pembelajaran berbasis praktikum. Kesimpulan dalam penelitian ini adalah penerapan pembelajaran berbasis praktikum dapat meningkatkan kemampuan kognitif dan kemampuan psikomotorik mahasiswa, kemampuan dosen dalam membimbing dan melaksanakan kegiatan praktikum sangat baik. Penerapan pembelajaran berbasis praktikum pada perkuliahan anatomi tumbuhan mendapat tanggapan positif.

Abstract

The study aiming to verify the plant species of epiphytic orchids in the area of Jantho Nature Reservation was conducted in August 2009. The location of the study was divided into three stations, namely: the flow of rivers, hills, and mountains. The research method used in the research was explorative methods. Data were analyzed descriptively. Results showed that 19 species of epiphytic orchids were classified into 12 generas, namely: Aerides, Eria, Phaleonopsis, Dendrobium, Bulbophyllum, Cattleya, Vanda, Pholidata, Arachnis, Coelogyne, Oncidium and Cymbidium. Species dominating the study area were members of the genus Dendrobium, Bulbophyllum, and Coelogyne.

Abstract

Penelitian yang berjudul “Pengaruh Model Pembelajaran Survey, Question, Read, Recite, Review (SQ3R) dan Learning Strategy Terhadap Kesadaran Metakognisi dan Hasil Belajar Kognitif Pada Materi Pengaruh Kepadatan Populasi Manusia Terhadap Lingkungan”. telah dilakukan pada bulan Mei sampai dengan Juni 2013 di MTsN Rukoh Banda Aceh. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model SQ3R dan Learning Strategy terhadap kesadaran metakognisi dan hasil belajar kognitif serta hubungan antara kesadaran metakognisi dan hasil belajar kognitif. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah eksperimen dan deskriptif untuk 2 kelas experimen dan satu kelas kontrol  dengan desain One-variable Multiple-condition . Data penelitian diperoleh dengan pemberian posttes dan angket MAI (Metacognitive Awareness Inventory) pada akhir pembelajaran. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan uji t dan deskriptif. Hasil uji statistik menunjukkan bahwa nilai t-hitung dari t-tabel 1,645. Kesadaran metakognisi menunjukkan nilai t-hitung t-tabel. Kesadaran metakognisi kelas eksperimen 1 adalah 0,74, kelas eksperimen 2 adalah 0,41 dan kelas kontrol 0,15. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah adanya peningkatan kesadaran metakognisi dan hasil belajar kognitif dengan penerapan model SQ3R dan Learning Strategy dan adanya hubungan antara kesadaran metakognisi dan hasil belajar kognitif.

Abstract

The utilization of plants as traditional Aceh food is a hereditary action for generations. Today, there are some tendencies that the knowledge of traditional Aceh food is declining. Various foreign and instant foods which enter Aceh are one of the tendency causes. The circumstance in Aceh which is not conducive makes many variety of plants in the forest are no longer use. The missing generation as an effect of earthquake and tsunami disaster happened in Aceh brings possibility of loosing knowledge of traditional Aceh food.This research aims to make a proposal of plants utilizing management as material of traditional Acehn food from local knowledge to be sustained for generations in Banda Aceh. It can be conducted in: (1) knowing the kinds of plants used for Aceh food by society. (2) Knowing the value and contribution of utilizing plants as traditional Aceh food for society. This research conducted from June to August 2005, continued in January until March 2006.The collecting of data conducted in two villages. They are in Lam Ara village in Banda Raya sub district and Darussalam village in Syiah kuala sub district. The technique of data collecting is with interview, intake of plants sample in field and field observation. Determining of responder conducted with the random stratification sampling method which is divided into three groups.Result of research indicate that there are 118 plant type consisted of 43 familia. Among 43 familia from plant used in traditional Aceh food, there are 5 familia which its use most often.  They are Fabaceae, Rutaceae, Solanaceae, Rubiaceae And Euphorbiaceae. Among plants used by society there are 16 kinds of plants have been generated intensively, 25 kinds are not intensively generated, 36 kinds is obtained from forest or wild nature. And 23 kinds of plant utilized come from outside area. This result is obtained from 51 kinds of Traditional Aceh food. Potential Plant developed among other things are shallot ( Allium Cepa L.) with the value of plant utilizing at  food is more than 28 food, garlic ( Allium Sativum L.), red pepper ( Capsicum Annum L.), and coconut ( Cocos Nucifera L.) with the value of plants utilizing is between 22 to 28 at traditional Aceh food.
