This study is a qualitative study that utilize in-depth interviews and observations to gather data at YPT Pringsewu Vocational School, Indonesia. The research design focuses on exploring how incorporating Lampung vocabulary in education impacts students' cultural identity and academic performance. The findings suggest that educators also struggle with low student interest and motivation towards learning the Lampung language, highlighting the need for innovative teaching methods to make the course more engaging. Additionally, addressing societal attitudes towards the importance of preserving local languages might also be crucial in overcoming these challenges. Educators should work closely with community members and leaders to develop curriculum that is relevant and engaging, ensuring that the language is passed down to future generations in a meaningful way. Through collaboration and a holistic approach to language education, educators can help to ensure the longevity and vitality of the Lampung language. This can involve incorporating technology, interactive activities, and cultural immersion experiences into the curriculum. By making the learning process more dynamic and relevant to students' lives, educators can inspire a deeper appreciation for the language and motivate learners to actively participate in its preservation.

Abstract

This study analyses teachers' opinions of interactive video-based learning media for teaching the Lampung language script to Grade 2 elementary school students in the Negeri Katon District, Pesawaran. Using a descriptive qualitative technique, data were acquired through semi-structured interviews and classroom observations with selected Lampung language teachers. The findings demonstrate that while teachers accept the benefits of interactive media—such as higher student engagement and enhanced retention—several challenges restrict its effective implementation, including limited access to resources, inadequate training, and infrastructural limits. The study underlines the significance of targeted professional development and technology support to increase the incorporation of these tools into regional language education. By addressing these limitations, interactive video-based learning has the potential to play a crucial role in revitalizing the Lampung language and fostering cultural preservation.

Abstract

English as an international language is very important for students to learn in madrasas. One of the problems that students often face when learning English is speaking competence. To overcome these problems, one of them can be taken by implementing Project-Based Learning (PBL). This study aims to determine the effect of PBL implementation on improving the English speaking capacity of MA Diponegoro students. In addition, this study also aims to determine the changes in the attitudes of MA Diponegoro students after the implementation of the PBL learning model. The source of data for this study is 23 students of Class X MA Diponegoro Yogyakarta, 2 students of the English Literature Study Program of UIN Sunan Kalijaga who have completed the previous TEFL Methodology course and in this study act as PBL teachers, as well as 2 lecturers and 1 alumnus of the English Literature Study Program as observers. This study uses an interactive analysis method in the process of analyzing students' English language capacity and attitudes during PBL and data collection techniques through observation, interviews and documentation over a period of 3 months. The results showed that of the 23 students, all experienced significant changes in English speaking capacity (fluency, pronunciation & accent, grammar, vocabulary and details), although none of the students had really reached the excellent level. It can also be concluded that the final product of PBL in the form of English speeches that are done in pairs, uploaded to the school's YouTube channel, competed and given awards have a positive effect on changing students' attitudes, where they become more confident in practicing English speaking, motivated to dare to be active in class, and comfortable working together to complete speech projects. This kind of PBL model has the potential to be developed for MBKM activities.
