Abstract

Surah al-‘Asr emphasizes the significance of time according to the Qur’an. Moreover, Surah al-‘Asr teaches important values related to economics, highlighting the utilization of time as a valuable asset. Time is not merely a part of daily routines but also a crucial factor that affects both worldly and spiritual life. Time is highly precious; if not used wisely, it will lead to loss. Time management is depicted as the art of organizing activities efficiently to achieve both worldly and spiritual goals, the findings of this study show that in Surah al-‘Asr, Allah swears by time to underscore the importance of living with faith, doing good deeds, and mutually advising one another in truth and patience. Allah’s oath by time emphasizes that humans are indeed in a state of loss, except for those who have faith, perform good deeds, advise one another in truth, and practice patience. From the perspective of economic miraculousness (I'jaz Iqtishadi), this teaching highlights the significance of business ethics, such as conducting transactions with honesty and fairness and maintaining patience when facing economic challenges. These three elements form the foundation for achieving success and avoiding loss, this analysis also reveals the dimension of economic miraculousness in the principles contained in the Surah, such as the importance of faith in economic transactions conducted with ethics and proper methods. The study concludes, from the perspective of I'jaz Iqtishadi, that the wise use of time will bring benefits and rewards, both in this world and in the hereafter.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of reward and punishment in improving the work ethic of teachers in the school environment. The approach used is a qualitative approach with a case study research type. Data collection techniques are carried out through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Data analysis uses the Miles and Huberman interactive model, which includes data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Data validity checks are carried out using source and technique triangulation techniques. The results of the study indicate that giving rewards such as awards, bonuses, and formal recognition can increase teacher motivation and work enthusiasm. Meanwhile, punishments that are carried out fairly and educatively, such as reprimands and coaching, can increase discipline without reducing work enthusiasm. The contribution of this study provides strategic understanding for school management in building a productive work culture through a balanced reward and sanction system

Abstract

The ecological crisis and gender inequality are two interrelated global issues rooted in patriarchal and exploitative social structures. In this context, ecofeminism offers a critical perspective on the dual domination of nature and women. This study aims to explore how the Qur’an constructs the relationship between women and nature through a thematic interpretation (tafsīr maudhū‘ī) combined with the framework of Qur’anic ecofeminism. This research employs a qualitative method based on library research, using critical hermeneutics to analyze selected verses of the Qur’an, such as QS. An-Nahl [16]: 97, QS. Ar-Rum [30]: 41, QS. Maryam [19]: 23–26, and QS. Az-Zalzalah [99]: 2. The findings reveal that the Qur’an does not only offer separate spiritual values to women and nature but also constructs a symbolic and functional relationship between them. The Qur’anic narratives of female figures, such as Maryam and the Queen of Sheba, demonstrate ecological agency rooted in ethics and spirituality. Simultaneously, nature in the Qur’an is portrayed as a responsive, sacred entity that reacts to human behavior. This study concludes that the Qur’anic ecofeminist perspective contributes to a new ethical and theological paradigm in Islamic interpretation—one that promotes ecological awareness, gender justice, and collective responsibility for caring for the Earth.

Abstract

Sanad and matn criticism are two fundamental pillars in the science of hadith, playing a crucial role in determining the validity and authenticity of a narration. Sanad criticism focuses on evaluating the integrity and reliability of the chain of narrators, including their moral uprightness (‘adalah), precision (ḍabt), and the continuity of the chain. On the other hand, matn criticism examines the content of the hadith, assessing its consistency with the Qur’an, rationality, historical facts, and the absence of linguistic irregularities or contradictions. This study aims to analyze the methodologies and principles applied in sanad and matn criticism, as well as their implications for the classification of hadith into sahih, hasan, and da‘if. Through a literature review of classical scholars such as al-Bukhari, Muslim, and Ibn Hajar al-Asqalani, as well as contemporary scholars, it is concluded that a strict and systematic approach to hadith criticism serves as a cornerstone for preserving the authenticity of Islamic teachings derived from the Prophet’s traditions. This paper emphasizes the necessity of integrating both sanad and matn criticism to prevent deviations in religious understanding and practice.

Abstract

The science of hadith is a key pillar in the treasury of Islamic scholarship. In this context, the presence of contemporary scholars and hadith figures is crucial. They strive to maintain the validity and credibility of hadith through the study of sanad (chain of transmission) and matan (transmission), while simultaneously interpreting and presenting it contextually in accordance with the social and intellectual realities of today's Muslim community. The purpose of this paper is to identify contemporary hadith scholars in the Islamic world and Indonesia and their thoughts. Studying these contemporary hadith figures is crucial not only to commemorate their contributions and work, but also to emulate the methods and approaches they employ in understanding and teaching hadith in the modern era. In this way, the current generation can continue the scientific legacy with a strong foundation and an orientation that aligns with the needs of the Muslim community today and in the future.

Abstract

Hadith, as the second primary source of Islamic law, plays a central role in shaping the norms, ethics, and legal framework of the Muslim community. This study is motivated by the need to re-examine the historical development of hadith more comprehensively, particularly in understanding its transition from an oral tradition to a systematically structured scientific discipline. The purpose of this research is to systematically explain the process of codifying and classifying hadiths, while analyzing the ontological, epistemological, and axiological dimensions that underlie it. This study employs a qualitative-descriptive approach through library research, drawing on classical and contemporary literature. The findings reveal that the development of hadith is not merely narrative in nature but forms an independent discipline characterized by a rigorous system of transmission, validation, and classification. Ontologically, hadith has transformed from an oral legacy into a legitimate scientific entity; epistemologically, it has evolved through strict methodologies such as isnad and matn criticism; and axiologically, hadith remains relevant as a source of values, ethics, and law in responding to the challenges of modernity. In conclusion, this integrative study on the history and methodology of hadith not only enriches the field of hadith sciences ('ulūm al-ḥadīth) but also strengthens the understanding of hadith's authority and function in contemporary Islamic life.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the prohibition of mukhadharah (sale of unripe agricultural products) from the perspective of Hadith. Mukhadharah refers to transactions involving fruits or crops that are not yet ripe and whose quality is uncertain. In Islamic law, this practice is prohibited due to the presence of gharar (uncertainty), which may harm one of the parties. This qualitative research employs hadith takhrij and critical analysis methods. The data are derived from major hadith collections such as Sahih Muslim, Sunan Abu Dawud, Sunan al-Nasa’i, and others. The findings reveal that the hadiths prohibiting mukhadharah are classified as sahih in terms of both sanad (chain of narrators) and matn (text). Matn analysis indicates no contradiction with the Qur’an, other authentic hadiths, historical facts, or rational reasoning. Therefore, the prohibition reflects the Islamic emphasis on justice and clarity in commercial transactions.
