Abstract

Forgiveness is a trait that everyone must have, so it will make it easier for fellow humans to live a safe and peaceful life. The purpose of this study is to identify the concept of forgiveness in the hadiths of the prophet, as well as the implementation of the value of forgiveness in the social interactions of UIN North Sumatra students, and the effect of mutual forgiveness on the harmony of the student's social environment. This research uses qualitative research with descriptive methods. With research techniques through interviews, documentation and analyzing in depth. The results of this study indicate that UIN North Sumatra students feel the impact of forgiveness on their interactions between students, which makes the heart more relieved, there is no dispute that results in the destruction of friendships, and makes the mind more positive. So that the conclusion of this study, that this forgiveness has begun to be applied by students of UIN North Sumatra, and makes students of UIN North Sumatra more harmonious campus environment among students

Abstract

Instillation social education values through learning good manners is one of the most effective ways to teach “Manner and Politeness” to students amidst the increasing number of cases of immorality and disrespect in society. This study aims 1) to analyze the process of internalizing social education values through learning “Manner and Politeness” among female students in grade I intensive TMI Putri Al-Amien Prenduan, 2) to determine the supporting and inhibiting factors in the process of internalizing social education values through learning “Manner and Politeness” among female students in grade I intensive TMI Putri Al-Amien Prenduan. The approach used is qualitative with a case study type. Data collection was carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data were analyzed through the stages of data condensation, data presentation, and drawing conclusions, as well as validation using source triangulation. The results of the study indicate that the internalization of social education values is carried out through three stages, namely: (1) Transformation of values which includes learning planning, (2) Transaction of values in the form of implementation of learning, role models and direct practice, and (3) Trans-internalization of values through role models, supervision, and continuous guidance. Inhibiting factors include the lack of role models from senior female students, the negative influence of peers. Supporting factors are motivation from teachers, kyai and nyai, as well as positive role models from teachers and senior female students.

Abstract

Islam provides comprehensive regulations for human actions in fulfilling life’s necessities, particularly in the consumption of food and beverages, ensuring that they are obtained lawfully (halal) and bring blessings. This principle is emphasized in Surah Al-Baqarah verse 168, which commands humankind to consume halalan thayyiban and to avoid following the footsteps of Satan. This study aims to analyze the concept of halalan thayyiban through a comparative study of two authoritative Indonesian exegeses: Tafsir Al-Azhar by Prof. Dr. Haji Abdulmalik Abdulkarim Amrullah (HAMKA) and Tafsir Al-Misbah by M. Quraish Shihab. The research employs a library research method with a qualitative approach and descriptive-textual analysis. Primary sources consist of the Qur’an, Tafsir Al-Azhar, and Tafsir Al-Misbah, while secondary sources include journals, books, and relevant scholarly literature. The findings reveal that HAMKA interprets lawful food as the opposite of prohibited ones explicitly mentioned in the Qur’an, namely carrion, blood, pork, and sacrifices offered to idols. Meanwhile, Quraish Shihab emphasizes that lawful food refers to what is not forbidden, either by its substance or by the manner of its acquisition. Both scholars agree that not everything lawful is automatically thayyib, as goodness is also determined by cleanliness, health, and the ethical means of obtaining it. Thus, the concept of halalan thayyiban extends beyond the legal status of permissibility, encompassing moral values, hygiene, health, and blessings that contribute to the spiritual and social well-being of Muslims.

Abstract

Islam encourages its followers to always strive for a good life, as a good life in this world is one of the supports for achieving a good life in the hereafter. One of the efforts to realize this is through investment activities. In the Qur'an, investment is considered essential for human welfare. The Qur'an provides basic concepts and principles for conducting investments according to Islamic teachings. Therefore, Islam emphasizes the importance of sharia principles in investing as a guide for society. Investment activities, both explicitly and implicitly, are included in several verses of the Qur'an and the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), who engaged in business and was an investment partner in Mecca from his youth until just before his prophethood. In Islamic economics, investment follows sharia regulations based on guidance from the Qur'an and Hadith. Sharia-compliant economic investment adheres to sharia principles, including prohibitions on usury (riba) and investing in unlawful businesses. It promotes transparency, relies on profit-sharing or sharia-compliant trade, and focuses on genuinely productive assets. Avoiding excessive speculation and adhering to national laws are essential for economic investment. Investment is defined as an effort to allocate funds with the aim of gaining future profits. Additionally, investment can be described as an asset or wealth management activity with a specific orientation, including strategies to achieve its objectives

Abstract

The Qur'an is a miracle of Allah SWT to all mankind, one of the miracles of the Qur'an can be reviewed from the aspect of language, the concept of taraduf is part of the ulm of the Qur'an which is very interesting to discuss, the words that contain the meaning of taraduf are used in different contexts with the meaning of the words having a more specific essence, the difference in vocabulary used is one of the factors in the differences in the objects discussed in each verse. Stingy is one of the words that contains taraduf, the Qur'an mentions the word stingy with different diction. Stingy is a despicable trait that arises from excessive egoistic behavior, people who have a stingy nature tend to have hard hearts and have no empathy. In this study, the researcher used a qualitative approach with a library research approach. The primary data sources used in this study are Tafsir Jami’ Al-Bayan Fi Ta’wil Al-Qur’an by al-Tabari and Tafsir Al-Tahrir wa Al-Tanwir by Ibn ‘Asyur using descriptive analysis method and comparative method. The results of this study are a. Bukhl is a person who does not want to spend his wealth and invites others to do the same. b. Syuh is used to explain a trait that is stingier than bukhl, Syuh is bukhl accompanied by lust. c. Danin refers to a person who is stingy with the knowledge he has. d. Syadid in QS. Al-Adiyat/100: 8 is a person who holds his wealth tightly. d. Qatur is interpreted as a person who is too frugal.

Abstract

Islam is a perfect religion. To understand Islam, knowledge based on the values of the Qur'an and the guidance of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) is needed to form an Islamic perspective. Muhammad Naquib Al Attas has declared this to prevent what is called westernization or western thought patterns that arise and spread in Islamic traditions and perspectives. In fact, Muslims must study what has become their scientific tradition (Islam) to be distanced from the values of westernization. In this writing, a normative approach is used based on facts and written data sources in the form of journals, articles, and books that have a relationship to this discussion. As a result, Muhammad Naquib Al Attas emphasized the importance of the Islamization of knowledge as a bridge to prevent western perspectives or worldviews, which refers to Islamic epistemology, namely the Qur'an and the guidance of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). Muhammad Naquib Al-Attas also urged Muslims to sort out contemporary science, which has been mixed with Western speculation and ideology that contradict Islamic values. He offered a solution that focuses on reconstructing contemporary science by integrating Islamic values and worldview (tawhid) as its epistemological basis, not only methodologically, but also in terms of values, goals, and ethics.

Abstract

Interpretasi tekstual dan kontekstual sangat penting, mengingat banyaknya kata dalam Al-Qur'an yang membutuhkan klarifikasi untuk menghindari ambiguitas (makna ganda). Salah satu aspek tersebut adalah interpretasi Al-Qur'an sebagai peringatan. Dalam studi ini, penulis meneliti bagaimana Buya Hamka dan M. Quraish Shihab menafsirkan Al-Qur'an sebagai peringatan, sebagaimana disebutkan dalam QS. Qaf ayat 45. Ayat ini berfungsi sebagai penegasan dari Allah SWT mengenai peran Al-Qur'an sebagai peringatan bagi umat manusia. Ayat ini menekankan bahwa tugas Nabi Muhammad SAW adalah menyampaikan pesan ilahi tanpa paksaan, karena hanya Allah SWT yang memiliki otoritas penuh atas penilaian manusia. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kepustakaan, dengan fokus pada metode tahlili , yang melibatkan analisis sumber data dengan mengkategorikan dan mengklasifikasikan aspek-aspek yang relevan dan membandingkannya dengan teori-teori lain. Dalam studi ini, kedua ahli tafsir sepakat bahwa tugas Nabi Muhammad SAW adalah menyampaikan pesan ilahi dan memberikan peringatan, bukan memaksa orang untuk percaya. Mereka juga sepakat bahwa peringatan Al-Qur'an lebih efektif jika ditujukan kepada individu yang memiliki kesadaran dan rasa takut ( khauf ) terhadap ancaman Allah.

Abstract

This study examines the concept of nasakh wa mansukh according to Jalaluddin as-Suyuti within the perspective of ‘Ulum al-Qur’an. Nasakh is an important subject in the discipline of Qur’anic studies, referring to the abrogation or replacement of a legal ruling (ḥukm shar‘i) by another ruling revealed later. This research analyzes al-Suyuti’s views as presented in Al-Itqan fi Ulum al-Qur'an and Tafsir al-Durr al-Ma'tsur, as well as relevant Qur’anic verses related to nasakh wa mansukh. The findings show that, according to al-Suyuti, linguistically nasakh means to erase, replace, or transfer, while terminologically it refers to the lifting of a legal ruling by another legal evidence that comes afterward. He emphasizes that understanding nasakh wa mansukh is an essential requirement for a mufassir in order to avoid errors in interpretation and legal determination. Al-Suyuti also classifies abrogation into several forms and outlines the conditions under which it occurs. In his view, nasakh does not represent contradiction within the Qur’an; rather, it reflects divine wisdom and mercy in legislating laws gradually according to the circumstances of the community. This study highlights the dynamic nature of Islamic legislation and underscores the importance of proper methodology in interpreting legal verses of the Qur’an.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji tafsir ayat-ayat kauniyah Al-Qur’an yang berkaitan dengan konsep kosmogenesis, yaitu proses penciptaan alam semesta (makrokosmos) dan manusia (mikrokosmos), dalam dua model tafsir kontemporer: Tafsir Ilmi terbitan Kementerian Agama Republik Indonesia dan karya tafsir ilmiah independen Ayat-Ayat Semesta oleh Agus Purwanto. Keduanya merepresentasikan pendekatan berbeda dalam menafsirkan ayat-ayat semesta—yang satu berbasis kelembagaan dengan pendekatan tekstual dan kehati-hatian, sementara yang lain berbasis sains modern dengan pendekatan saintifik-filosofis yang lebih interpretatif dan eksploratif. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif-deskriptif dengan pendekatan studi pustaka dan teknik analisis komparatif-kritis, serta menerapkan kerangka hermeneutika linguistik dan saintifik. Kajian difokuskan pada perbandingan aspek metodologis, epistemologis, dan konseptual dalam memahami ayat-ayat kosmogenetik, baik yang berkenaan dengan penciptaan langit dan bumi (QS. Al-Anbiya’: 30, QS. Fussilat: 11–12) maupun penciptaan manusia (QS. Al-Mu’minun: 12–14, QS. Al-Insan: 2). Temuan menunjukkan bahwa meskipun keduanya berupaya menjembatani antara wahyu dan sains, pendekatan dan sumber rujukan keduanya sangat berbeda. Tafsir Ilmi lebih mengandalkan disiplin tafsir klasik dengan penguatan literatur ulama, sedangkan Agus Purwanto mengangkat teori-teori sains mutakhir seperti Big Bang, ruang gelap, DNA, hingga fisika kuantum sebagai jembatan makna Qur’ani. Artikel ini merekomendasikan model tafsir kosmogenetik integratif yang bersifat transdisipliner, dengan menggabungkan ketelitian linguistik-teologis dan keberanian saintifik. Tafsir semacam ini dinilai penting untuk menjawab tantangan zaman modern seperti perubahan iklim, eksplorasi luar angkasa, dan persoalan bioetika, serta memperkuat literasi sains dan tafsir dalam kurikulum pendidikan Islam kontemporer.
