Abstract

Hadith Ahad is a hadith whose number of rawi in each ţabaqah or one of them is limited. In using hadith ahad related to legal issues, according to the majority of ulama', it is obligatory to practice it. However, some others reject hadith ahad in several cases such as in the context of ’umum al-balwa or when it contradicts qiyas. This study is a library research with a qualitative approach and uses content analysis methodology. This study aims to reveal the contradiction of hadith ahad with qiyas and its impact on the law of dowry that has not been determined by the husband when the marriage contract takes place, and then the husband dies before having intercourse with his wife. This study concluded that if the ‘illat qiyas is extracted from the evidence that is qaţ'iy, while the hadith that contradicts qiyas is the category of hadith ahad, then there is a khilaf. And this difference of opinion has an impact on the issue of dowry that has not been determined by the husband when the marriage contract takes place, then the husband dies before having intercourse with his wife. The opinion of the majority of fuqaha’ is that the wife has the right to receive mitsil dowry and inheritance based on the hadith ahad narrated by Ibn Mas'ud. While the opinion of the Malikiyah is that the wife does not get mut’ah, and does not get a dowry but the wife gets an inheritance based on qiyas in the sale and purchase.

Abstract

This article focuses on the discourse of interpretation of gender verses from the perspective of classical and contemporary interpreters, emphasizing the ever-evolving scientific discourse compared to the immutable message of the Qur'an. This research is a library research, namely examining library materials or literature related to the research problem by selecting, reading, reviewing and examining books or other written sources that are relevant to the research title contained in the library sources. The approach used is a qualitative analysis approach based on the Islamic Worldview paradigm offered by Syed Muhammad Naquib Al-Attas. This study is intended to produce descriptive data in the form of written data after conducting a thought analysis (content analysis) of a text. The conclusion of this study, the differences in the interpretation of the Qur'an are due to different approaches in the interpretation of the Qur'an, textual approaches (bil ma'tsur) to interdisciplinary approaches (bil ra'yi), resulting in the emergence of different interpretation products. Our findings in this study lie at the meeting point of the two interpretation products from a socio-historical perspective, where the Qur'an is very dynamic in responding to the needs of the people in their respective eras, so that it is very likely that an interpretation product will emerge that remains up to date in the future.

Abstract

Chronic and potentially fatal, cancer remains a formidable challenge in modern medicine. While a number of etiological factors have been identified, the precise causes of many cancer types are yet to be fully understood. This study examines a number of divine directives from the perspective of i‘jaz ṭibbi (the medical miracles) of the Qur'an, as interpreted by Dr. Sayyid Jumaili, which are relevant to the prevention and treatment of cancer. The Qur'an promotes a balanced lifestyle, urging individuals to avoid excess (Qur'an 7:31), maintain cleanliness (Qur'an 2:222), and utilize natural substances for healing, such as honey (Qur'an 16:69) and Zamzam water. In addition to physical aspects, the Qur'an provides spiritual and psychological support to patients through verses that offer solace and meaning in the face of adversity. This research aims to reveal the integration of revelation and medical science in addressing cancer, asserting that the Qur'an serves as a holistic source of guidance encompassing both medical and spiritual dimensions.

Abstract

In a written work, the method of writing cannot be separated, as is the case with works of an interpretation. In interpreting the Qur'an, a mufassir requires a method of interpretation, which in this case is colored by his learning journey, the schools he adheres to, and so on. In this article the focus is on discussing the methodology of the interpretation of Ali al-Sabuni in the book Safwat al-Tafasir which discusses his biography, his works as well as the method and style of his interpretation. The result of this study is that the Safwah al-Tafasir method in terms of its source includes bi al-Ra'yi, in terms of the way of explanation it includes bayni, in terms of breadth it includes Ijmali, and in terms of orderly interpretation it includes Tahlili, and the school or trend of Safwah al-Tafasir patterned adabi al-ijtima'i.

Abstract

This study examines the term kafura as it appears in Surah al-Insan (76:5) of the Quran and in the saying of the Prophet Muhammad saw. from historical and linguistic perspective. The purpose of thus research is ti trace the etymologi and semantic development of the term kafura, its usage in religious texts, and its possible connection to the trading commodity known as canphor (Kapur barus) originating from the Barus region in North Sumatera, Indonesia. The research employs a qualitative methodology with a historical-linguistic approach, drawing on primary sources such as classical Quranic exegesis (tafsir), hadith collection, travelogues, and historical chronicles from the Islamic world, China, and the West. The findings indicate that kafura, as interpreted by Nusantaran scholars, reflects a historical link between the term and natural products from the Malay-Indonesian archipelago, which had long been part of global trade networks both before and after the advent of Islam. From a linguistic perspective, the study suggests that the inclusion of foreign loan words in the Qur’an, kafura among them is a form of ta‘rib (Arabization), possibly mediated through Persian, which supports the notion of early intercultural and commercial interactions in the pre-Islamic era. Historically, camphor from Barus (also known as Fansur), located on the western coast of Sumatra, was a highly valued international commodity known across the ancient world since the early Common Era. In conclusion, this study posits that kafura is a cross-cultural term that underscores the significant role of Barus in the networks of trade and the dissemination of Islam in the Asian region.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the potential integration of mental health assessments as a prerequisite for marriage within the framework of fiqh almunakahat by examining the perspectives of the four major Islamic legal schools: Shafi’i, Hanafi, Maliki, and Hanbali. The background of this research stems from the increasing rates of divorce and family dysfunction linked to the psychological unpreparedness of spouses, while classical Islamic jurisprudence has yet to explicitly address mental health as a formal requirement for marriage validity. This study employs a qualitative library research method using an interdisciplinary approach combining Islamic legal studies, psychology, and civilizational discourse. The findings reveal that all schools acknowledge severe mental illness (junūn) as a type of defect (‘uyub) that can justify annulment (fasakh) of marriage. However, they do not provide a preventive mechanism such as premarital psychological assessment. Within the framework of maqasid alshari‘ah, particularly the preservation of intellect (hifz al‘aql) and life (hifz alnafs), mental health integration as an administrative premarriage policy is both syar’ilegitimate and contextually relevant. This study recommends enhancing religiouspsychological premarital programs and updating fiqh curricula to be more responsive to contemporary psychosocial challenges.

Abstract

This study explores the scientific inimitability (i‘jaz tibbi) in the Qur’an concerning the health benefits of fish, focusing on the analysis of Surah An-Nahl verse 14 based on the interpretation of Dr. Sayyid Al-Jumaili. The phrase "lahman tariyyan" (fresh meat) in the verse not only indicates the availability of fish as a source of food but also implies its nutritional and medical value. Employing a qualitative descriptive method through library research, this paper integrates insights from Iʿjaz Tibbi fi al-Qur’an and modern scientific literature in the fields of nutrition and health. The findings reveal that fish is rich in easily digestible animal protein, omega-3 fatty acids, vitamin D, vitamin B12, and essential minerals such as iodine and selenium, which are crucial for maintaining heart, brain, immune system, and thyroid health. This study confirms that the Qur’an provides not only spiritual guidance but also scientific insights relevant to human health, illustrating the harmony between divine revelation and modern science.

Abstract

This study focuses on strategies for enhancing teacher resilience to prevent burnout at MI Nurul Mun’im, aiming to explore the roles of leadership, work-life balance, and social support in building individual and collective fortitude within the work environment. Utilizing a qualitative approach with a case study design, data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews with the headmaster, vice headmaster, teachers, and students, as well as document analysis. Data analysis involved reduction, display, and verification using content, discourse, and interpretive analysis methods. The findings indicate that participatory and appreciative leadership strategies significantly increase teachers' sense of ownership and motivation, while work-life balance policies, such as flexible scheduling and reduced administrative burdens, support their physical and mental well-being. Furthermore, social support, fostered through harmonious relationships among teachers and group discussion programs, strengthens collective resilience, positively impacting both the work and learning atmosphere. The implications of this research suggest that the combination of these strategies can serve as an effective model for improving educator well-being and, ultimately, the quality of education

Abstract

The low quality of human resources is one of the most basic problems that can hamper the educational process, which is one of the causes of the low quality of education in Indonesia, namely the low quality of teachers. Human resources are one of the factors that need to be considered in implementing teaching activities in the field of education, and teachers are the main carriers of the intellectual growth of the younger generation. The approach used is a qualitative approach. Qualitative research is a research rule that will produce descriptive data in the form of written or spoken words from parties directly involved in the author's research. Meanwhile, the type of research used is a case study, with the aim of obtaining a complete and in-depth description of an entity. Case studies produce data which is then analyzed to produce theories. The leadership strategy needed in schools is a leadership strategy that is able to push towards a better direction. Through good leadership strategies, a madrasa head can improve and increase teacher discipline in accordance with the goals, hopes, vision and mission carried out by the school. If the madrasah principal implements leadership strategies well and continuously in all teacher activities at school, a better work environment will be created in the future for teachers. Disciplinary problems are basic and general problems in the educational environment. At MI Miftahul Falah, common disciplinary problems usually occur in the form of teachers being late in coming to the madrasah in the morning or when lessons start in class. In responding to forms of violations committed by MI teacher Miftahul Falah, the head of the madrasah made efforts in the form of implementing rules and regulations containing rules and sanctions for teachers. The application of rules and regulations aims to instill an awareness of the value of discipline in teachers. Meanwhile, sanctions aim to provide a deterrent effect for teachers who violate the rules.

Abstract

Nasikh and mansukh are important concepts in the study of hadith and the Qur'an, relating to the abolition or replacement of sharia law by later evidence. Understanding these concepts is a primary requirement for a mujtahid in establishing Islamic law. Nasikh means evidence that abolishes, while mansukh is evidence that is abolished. This study aims to understand the concepts of nasikh and mansukh in hadith and how scholars interpret them in the context of Islamic law. Using qualitative methods and a library study approach, this study analyzes the contents of various classical and contemporary literature, such as hadith books and ushul fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence) that discuss the abolition of laws in the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). The research design used is content analysis, which allows researchers to systematically examine their meaning, types, and conditions. Data were collected through literature documentation, then analyzed through a process of reduction, classification, interpretation, and conclusion. The results show that there are three types of naskh: abolishing a word without abolishing a law, abolishing a law without abolishing a word, and abolishing both simultaneously.  The discussion covers the requirements for a naskh, the differences of opinion between classical and contemporary scholars regarding the validity of a naskh, and the classification of the relationship between the Qur'an and hadith within the context of naskh. Naskh is seen as a form of adaptation of Islamic law to the dynamics of society, safeguarding the public interest, and demonstrating the flexibility of sharia in responding to changing times. Understanding nasikh and mansukh in hadith is not only within the context of Islamic law but also reflects the dynamics of the scholars' ijtihad in response to social developments and the needs of the community
