Abstract

This research aims to improve student learning outcomes in Islamic religious education learning by using problem based learning. This research is classroom action research that uses four steps, namely planning, action, observation and reflection. The subjects of this research were elementary school students. This research data was obtained using test and observation techniques. Tests are used to measure learning outcomes and observations are used to analyze teacher and student learning activities. The data analysis technique used in this research is descriptive statistics by comparing the results obtained with indicators of research success. The research results show that problem based learning can improve student learning outcomes in Islamic religious education learning. This can be seen from the increase in the percentage of student learning completeness in each cycle with details of pre-cycle 41.89%, first cycle 72.37% and in the second cycle it increased to 88.92%. Thus, the use of problem based learning can be used as an alternative to improve student learning outcomes in Islamic religious education learning.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of grammar-translation methods in teaching Arabic through a literature study approach. This method is a classic approach that has been widely used in learning foreign languages, including Arabic, especially in traditional Islamic educational environments such as Islamic boarding schools and madrasas. The main focus of this method is on mastery of grammatical structures and the ability to translate texts, rather than on active communication skills. In the modern era that demands communicative and contextual language skills, questions arise about the relevance and effectiveness of this method in meeting the needs of contemporary learning. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with a literature research design. Data was obtained from the analysis of various literature such as books, scientific journals, dissertations, curricula, and relevant previous research results. The data analysis technique is carried out in a descriptive-analytical manner, with steps of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawn. The results of the study show that grammar and translation methods have advantages in terms of understanding language structure and access to classical texts, but are limited in the development of speaking and listening skills. Therefore, the effectiveness of this method is highly dependent on the context and objectives of the learning. In certain situations, this method can still be used strategically if combined with other, more communicative approaches. This study recommends a balanced methodological integration between structural and functional approaches so that Arabic language learning is more adaptive to the needs of the times.

Abstract

UIN Ar-Raniry Banda Aceh implements a dress code of ethics for students of the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training which emphasizes dress standards in accordance with the values of modesty and Islamic teachings. This provision requires students to wear neat, polite, and sharia-compliant clothing, such as wearing a hijab that covers the chest and wearing clothing that is not tight, transparent, or has slits. This study aims to: 1) Analyze the level of awareness of female PAI Study Program students of the 2021 intake regarding the implementation of the sharia dress code of ethics on campus, 2) Identify the implementation of sharia clothing in the daily lives of female students in accordance with the applicable code of ethics, and 3) examine the factors that influence their compliance with sharia dress rules. The research method used is a qualitative approach with data collection techniques in the form of structured interviews, participant observation, and documentation. The results of the study showed that female students' awareness of the dress code of ethics was divided into two groups. First, female students who have dressed according to the code of ethics standards by wearing loose, non-transparent clothing, and in accordance with the principles of Islamic law; second, female students who have not fully complied with the code of ethics by still wearing tight, transparent clothing that does not meet the code of ethics standards. In general, the implementation of sharia clothing is quite good, although there are still some that are not optimal. Factors that influence awareness of sharia clothing consist of internal factors, such as religious understanding, self-awareness, and personal motivation, as well as external factors, including social environment, educational background, campus policies, and the influence of social media.
