Abstract

This study focused on the exposure of the urban Gapoktan profile achievement, namely the successful management case studies Gapoktan - Muja Muju located in Muja Muju Umbulharjo District of the city of Yogyakarta. This study aimed to analyse the profile Gapoktan Muja Muju as described and shown in the research results. The quantitative data was obtained by through observation, interviews, and in-depth study of the document. Aspects of its high strength Gapoktan Muja Muju lies in the administrative neatness and tidiness is shown by the completeness of the data, activities and group dynamics, the ability to establish a network of cooperation and the achievements on the race of processed agricultural products. The medium strength aspects were on the development of venture capital (growth of 8%) per annum, marketing products and processed agricultural products. The low strength aspects were on crop production, and production infrastructure providers.

Abstract

The purpose of research is to describe the characteristics of farmers in Karanganyar district. Research done in the characteristics of farmers in Karanganyar, Central Java Province. The timing of the study lasted for one month in September 2014. The population in this study is the farmers who are members of farmer groups. The sampling technique was conducted with a random group of many stages (multistage cluster random sampling), Data Collection Techniques of this study are primary data and secondary data. Data analysis technique is descriptive analysis techniques. The results were obtained Characteristics Farmers in Karanganyar as follows: Farmers mostly aged between 46-65 years of as much as 54.21%, the majority of farmers Education Elementary and junior high school education is 31.78% and 31.78% elementary and junior high school education, Farmers has never participated in a training activity / non-formal education (in the past year) as much as 32.71% of the farmers, farmers income mostly less than Rp5.000.000,- / season as much as 53.27%, tenure farmers much less than 5,000 m2 69.16%, Tier of cosmopolitan weak farmer is as much as 43.93%, Old farming is an average of 10-20 years of as much as 43.93%, age of farmer group membership is average of less than 10 years as much as 59.88%.

Abstract

This research aims: 1) To know the motivation, interests, experiences of farmers in the growth and formation of farmer groups. The results of the research aspects of motivation is 81% of the farmers choose the regular farmers groups and the rest choose commodities. Aspects of a select group of regular farmers interest as much as 80% and the rest of a select group of commodities. The experiential aspect of farming 82% of farmers chose regular group and the rest of a select group of commodities. The general conclusion from this study is that most farmers above 80% choose regular group is a group of farmers who manage various commodities for reasons more efficiently.

Abstract

This study is a survey research on Acceptance Analysis of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) for Extension Workers in Agricultural Extension Activities. The research objective was to determine the effect of variable Perceived Ease of Use of ICTs on Perceived Usefulness use of ICT, the influence of Perceived Ease of Use of ICTs on Intensity Behaviour Using ICT, influence perception Usefulness use of ICT to the intensity of Behaviour Using ICT, and the influence of Intensities Behaviour Using ICT to the use of ICT in Currents. This type of research is explanatory research by using the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), and involve agricultural extension workers as respondents. Data were collected using questionnaires and then analysed by quantitative descriptive and hypothesis testing and regression analysis. The results of the study are (1) the results of descriptive analysis of the four variables are variables Perceived Ease of Use of ICT, variable Perceived Usefulness use of ICT, variable intensity Behaviour use of ICT, and variable use of ICT In Currents has an average category High, (2) Test Results Hypothesis analysis simple linear regression, namely: (a) for the variable Perceived Ease of Use ICTs to variable Perceived Usefulness use of ICT, and variable Perceived Ease of Use ICTs to variable intensity of the use of ICT has a significant influence (b) While the variable Perceived Usefulness Using ICT to variable intensity Behaviour of Use ICT, and the variable intensity of Behaviour Using ICT to variable use of ICT in Currents not significant. The implication of this research is very necessary in their outreach activities using ICTs to improve the success of the field of education, and what is important is the use of ICT must be effective and efficient.

Abstract

The research titled the influence of a mixture of manure and rice husks to the results of chili (Capsicum frutens) aims to determine the additional amount of manure, rice husks combination of manure and rice husks improve result of chili. Research conducted on the area of BP3K Kalibawang of DI Yogyakarta on soil vertosol, began in Marsh 2014 though December 2014. Research used randomized block design arranged in factorial consisted of two treatment with three replications. The first factor manure (P) consists of 5 levels. The second factor rice husk with 5 levels. The parameters of observation:1. The number of branch 6 weeks old; 2. When the appearance of the first lowers; 3. The weight of fruit per plant. The results showed no interaction between the two treatments. Conclusions of this study are: 1. The addition of manure 100% or 4 part give the most of the number and weight of fruit per plant (planting medium soil: manure=1:1) 2. The addition of rice husks 50% or 2 part, give the most of the weight of fruit per plant (planting medium soil rice husks: manure=2:1). 3. There is no interaction of treatment to the number and weight of chilies per plant.

Abstract

Soybean demand continues to increase, so the government strives to increase soybean production through the Soybean Integrated Crop Management Implementation Movement Program (Gerakan Penerapan Pengelolaan Tanaman Terpadu/GP-PTT Kedelai). This study aims to analyse the process of innovation adoption. Determination of research area is selected intentionally in Sukorejo Jember, particularly Rejeki farmers group. The study is a qualitative research with case study method. Determination of respondents was conducted using purposive sampling. Data was retrieved through depth interview, observation and unstructured documents. Data Analysis was performed using Miles and Huberman of data reduction model, data presentation, conclusion. Data validity was tested using source triangulation technique. Result showed that the adoption process included the following steps: (1) farmers knowledge was influenced by the characteristics of the decision making units regarding social and economic issues such as: a) the farmers who grow and apply the cultivation technology were old, b) the group members accepted technology due to the existence of government aid, communication behaviour related to the extension officers extension delivery; (2) the farmers attitude in claiming programs such as GP-PTT; (3) the decision declaring farmers to adopt the cultivation innovation; (4)the farmers failed to implement the recommended cultivation technology correctly; (5) the farmers confirmations that some resumed the technology and some didnt.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the agricultural extension programme facilitation, agricultural extension facilitation, facilitation of information, the main institutional actors and businessmen, human resources and Agricultural Extension Workers (PPL, Penyuluh Pertanian Lapangan) facilities in Banguntapan Institution of Agricultural Extension (BPP, Balai Penyuluhan Pertanian) as a model. The method used are observation, interview and questionnaire. The results showed that the Agricultural Extension Center as a model to be supported in their programme in Banguntapan were: counselling, counselling facilities, information facilities, institutional, PPL resources, and supporting devices facilities. The Banguntapan Institution of Agricultural Extension still requires necessary improvement to become the Model for Extension, the same applied for the quality of human resources, THL, and self-help. The Institutions infrastructure still needed improvement and its readiness as a model needs support from its apparatus. Financial support for the EMB Banguntapan was prerequisite as the model is still lacking for the operational management and operational of BPP. Improvement was needed in terms of the quality of Extension human resources, through training and collaborating with other relevant institutions. It should be proposed to the local government as necessities for the development of BPPs extension activities and management.

Abstract

The aims of this research is to determine differences in quality sensory moromi crackers with raw lour tapioca and mocaf composite in terms of colour, flavour, taste and texture; and the preference level panellists to crackers experimental results. Population in this research is moromi, mocaf flour and tapioca lour. This research method using laboratory experiments with the design of composite mocaf lour and tapioca lour are arranged with symbol and treatment A (1;1); B (3:2); C (2:3). Methods of data collection that is a subjective assessment by the sensory test, and test preferences. A data collection tool is not trained panellist for sensory test, and test preferences. Sensory test data analysis methods using single classification analysis of variance followed by Tukeys test, a test preference while using a descriptive analysis of the percentage. The results of Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) Single Classification, moromi crackers sensory quality of experimental results showed significant differences, composite mocaf and tapioca with comparison 1:1, 3:2, 2:3 the sensory quality of moromi crackers viewed from the aspect of colour, flavour, taste and texture. Best moromi crackers sample is a sample of crackers moromi witha basis of composite mocaf and tapioca with comparison 1:1 namely the aspect of colour 85%, flavour 79%, taste 78% and texture 76%.A test preferences panellist crackers moromi experimental results are sampled by comparison 1:1 (79,5%) shows the average value of the criteria very like and 3:2 (71,25%) shows the average value of the criteria like whereas the comparison samples 2:3 (69,75%)shows the average value sufficient criteria like.

Abstract

The Ministry of Agriculture have enacted a special effort to escalate rice, corn and soybean productions since 2015 through the program of Rice, Corn and Soybean Self-Sufficiency. The manifestation of this program is facilitated through various activities including: tertiary irrigation improvement, land optimal, pre/post-harvest agricultural machinery aids, seed and fertilizer aids, integrated crop management movement, planting season arrangement using KATAM, and integrated escort and assistance by extension officers, universities (students) and the Army (BABINSA). The Program implementation requires farmers participation in several activities. Farmers participation indicator in this program can be observed through their involvement in four implementation stages: preparation, management, observation, and utilization. Research showed that the Program implementation in Padangsidimpuan was successful, indicated by the realization of planting area target of RJIT and OPLA programs at 100%. The farmers participation level in this Program scored 24.10 or 80.33%, the influencing factors related to the high level of participation were the farmers training quantity, their status in terms of land ownership, and assistance by extension officers and students. Problems in the Program implementation includes the limited number of extensions officers, the famers knowledge varied in technology implementation, and coordination among the related institutions was not optimum.

Abstract

The number of agricultural workers in Pulosari Village is sufficient, but many young people and communities choose to work outside the agricultural field. The availability of manpower for farming activities in Pulosari Village is low, so that agricultural machinery assistance is needed to achieve the planting target. Management of existing farming business namely tractor, Trans planter, Thresher, Power Weedier, Sprayer and Combine Harvester. The role of combined groups of farmers and counsellor in developing rice cultivation through introduction and supply of farming, can improve farmers skill so that the development of agricultural tools and machinery can be used by farmers and do not negatively affect the labour of farm laborers and positively affect the level of wage of labour. The research objectives are: to know the availability of man power, to know the management of rice farming and to know the role of Farmers Group Unions in realizing the independence of farmers in farming in Pulosari Village Kebakkramat District Karanganyar Regency.
