Abstract

The title of research: Effectiveness of Agricultural Counselling Programs and Counselling Performance in Gunungkidul that held on February to December 2013. The purpose of this study was to: identify the realization of the planned counselling activity in agricultural counselling program, identify counselling activity that held by instructor (instructor performance), identify competencies of instructor and supporting factors of counselling activity, identify Effectiveness Of Agricultural counselling Programs, identify the influence of competences counselling and supporting factors the effectiveness of agricultural counselling program, identify the influences of the competences instructor and supporting factors counselling with instructor performance, identify impact of instructor performance and Effectiveness Of Agricultural counselling Programs. By using descriptive analysis obtained information: realization of counselling program average of 5.251 or lower category, the effectiveness of agricultural counselling program average of .436 or in medium category, instructor performance about 34, 211 or in a low category, the competence of instructor was at 54.923 or in medium category, and the supporting factors of counselling is about 176.269 or in the low category. There is influence of the competence instructor and the effectiveness of agricultural counselling program on the level of credibility(α) of 0.05 with significance 0.015, and there is influence between supporting factor and the effectiveness of agricultural counselling programs at the level of credibility (α) of 0.05 with significance 0.012. There isn't influences between instructor competence and the supporting factors of counselling with instructor performance in level of credibility (α) 0.05 with significance at 0.294 in instructor competence and 0.344 in supporting factors of counselling. Instructor performance was not affecting the effectiveness agriculture counselling program in level of credibility (α) 0.05 with significance 0.486.

Abstract

The study was conducted in order to determine how the quality of the seeds produced by farmers seed, knowing how marketing efficiency seed producer of rice seed, and analyse the feasibility of farmers / farmer groups seed, in the Regional District of Prambanan. When the study was conducted in May 2013. Research methods: samples were taken intentionally (purposive) of 30 farmers who dobusiness paddy seed, data were collected by interview using the next questioner descriptive analysis of the data analysed are descriptions that describe and interpret objects in accordance with what it is. Results: Rice seeds produced by farmers good quality has passed the field test and subsequent laboratory testing predicate CERTIFIED SEED. Seed produced basic seed (purple label) results basic seed (white label). Seed producer obtain marketing margin of Rp 3,497, - / kg, marketing efficiency of 77.65%. And the benefits of farmers with land area of 2,078 m2 Rp 3.3434 million * with R / C ratio of 2.52 and 152.10% ROI shows that efforts made rice seed farmer groups Prambanan District worth the effort.

Abstract

The Nationally demand of Sweet corn demand has increased to 33.33%, but production is still low 4-8-ton ha-1, which is caused by low soil fertility. The efforts to improve soil fertility through nitrogen and animal waste fertilization is done. This experiment using the Split Spot Design Method with N as the main plot consisted dose of 150%, 100% and 50%. Subplot using the type of cow livestock waste, consisting of: without cow livestock waste, feces, urine and feces + urine. The results showed that the application of N, dose of 150% resulted in weight cob without husk per hectare (2.06 ton) diameter cob without husk (0.32 cm) higher and harvest index (3.8%) is smaller than the dose of N 50%. Applications livestock waste types feces + urine or urine, resulting in weight cob without husker hectare, diameter cob without husk, which was not significantly different from each 13.07 ton ha-1 and 13.13 ton ha-1, 5.12 cm and 5.02 cm both were significantly higher than feces or without livestock waste, while the harvest index showed that feces + urine is significantly higher than that of urine, feces and without livestock waste.

Abstract

The title of this research is Influence of row planting system Legowo on productivity. The research aim is to determine the suitable of row planting system Legowo to get the best yield on paddy production. The research was done in BP3K Kalibawang, region Kalibawang, which has altitude 175 m. The experiment started from May to November 2013. The research used field experimental methods with single factorial design that were arranged in randomized complete block design, It was 3 times repeated. The first factor 5 levels are conventional plant (P0), row planting system Legowo 2:1 (P1), row planting system Legowo 3:1 (P2), row planting system Legowo 4:1 (P3), and row planting system Legowo 5:1 (P4). The result showed the method of row planting system Legowo 2:1 give higher yield product on dry grain process, and the best rice quality.

Abstract

The study aims to determine the type of botanical pesticides are effective for controlling rust disease on soybean. The research was conducted in the village of Banguntapan, Bantul in June and October 2014. The study used a complete randomized block design with 5 treatments and 4 replication, control materials used are clove oil, lemongrass oil, betel oil, jatropha seed oil and water (control). Applied control rust disease by spraying the leaves of soybean plant age begins at 14 days with an interval of 7 days. The results showed that clove oil is more effective for controlling rust disease than lemongrass oil, betel oil and jatropha seed oil based on the incubation period, the percentage of diseased leaf, the intensity of the attack and the loss amounted to 46.38 percent attack.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the existence, degree of utilization, the level of needs and interests, and the level of service-learning resources in the Department of Agricultural Extension STPP Magelang in Yogyakarta. This research is quantitative descriptive. Object of this research is a source of learning, and the respondents are students in the Department of Agricultural Extension STPP Magelang in Yogyakarta. Data were collected using questionnaires, then analysed descriptively. The results showed (1) The existence of Learning Resources i.e. Massage, People, Engineering, and Environment have always existed categories, while Materials and Equipment have occasionally their categories. Quality of Learning Resources i.e. People and Environment have very adequate category, while other forms adequate categories. (2) Utilization rate which includes the user number and frequency of use of Learning Resources i.e. Messages, Person, Engineering and Environment have a lot of and often categories, while Materials and Equipment have the medium and sometimes categories. (3) The level purposes of all forms of Learning Resources have very necessary categories. (4) The level of pleasure almost all forms of Learning Resources have very favoured categories, except the form of Equipment. (5) The level of service that includes Speed and Ease of Service almost all have quick and easy categories. Results of this study have implications for the future development of learning resources that exist in Department of Agricultural Extension STPP Magelang in Yogyakarta.

Abstract

The research on hedonic price and lexicographic preference in liquid milk consumption in Yogyakarta aims to identify: 1) the influencing factors of hedonic price, 2) the influencing factors of consumer's lexicographic preferences and 3) the influencing factors of liquid milk consumption with the insertion of lexicographic preference and hedonic price factors. Thirty household respondents were retrieved through judgement sampling in three locations namely Sidoarum, Kricak, and Tamantirto. Multiple regression results show that the following variables were significant to hedonic price: package design expectations and actual package design of the product, brand, and taste showed significant influences to Hedonic Price. Ordinal logit analysis on the influencing factors of consumer's lexicographic preference show that motivation and purchasing power were the significant variables affecting their lexicographic preferences. Analysis on the influencing factors affecting liquid milk consumption show that Hedonic Price, price perception, purchasing power, number of family members, frequency of milk consumption, Dummy of mother's occupation were the influential variables on liquid milk consumption.

Abstract

In the livestock industry, human resource management would drive the success of production, particularly in an effort to meet the needs of animal protein for the community. At present, the problem of exposure of materials or chemicals in poultry products is increasingly becoming a concern. This study was conducted to determine the association of the human resource with the incidence of chemical residues (for example in this research was deltamethrin) in especially broiler meat. The study was conducted in Sleman, Yogyakarta. Multiple stages sampling method was used to collect 74 samples. Residue analysis performed on 512 specimens that carried out in the Laboratory of Pharmacology of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine UGM. Survey by interviews and questionnaires conducted to determine the human resource management that applied to the farm. Information from the questionnaire was education level, number of workers, and employment status of workers. Descriptive statistical analysis was used to determine the prevalence of residue and overview of the situation of human resource management on the farm. Logistic regression analysis and the calculation of odds ratios were used to determine the association of predictor factors of the probability of the deltamethrin residues in broiler meat. Linear regression analysis was used to determine the association of factors to predict levels of deltamethrin residues. In conclusion, human resource was important factor in securing animal product, in particular from exposure to chemicals and contaminants. In food safety paradigm, the management should pay attention to the competence of human resource and provide proper salary. Efforts to increase competence through training and continuing education is very important.

Abstract

The easiness of rice processing is a challenge for the processed instant corn rice so the consumers can easily cook corn rice. In order to increase value added of corn rice as functional food, then rice bran can be added. The aims of this research were to determine the optimal composition of rice bran substitution in the production of instant rice bran- corn rice and to determine the characteristic of instant rice bran-corn rice. This research used Respond Surface Methods (Design Expert 9 Programs) which obtained 13 running formula. The formula provided an optimal solution at 0,900 level of desirability which treatment amount of rice brand by 9% and no soaking treatment. According to solution of program, resulted the characteristic of instant rice bran - corn rice with water content 2.58%, bulk density 45.9 %, porosity 87.3%, development volume 254% dan water absorption 206%.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine the best proportion of the unfermented cassava waste and cassava starch on development and adsorption power and sensory quality of cassava rengginang. The research method using a design structured factorially composed of two factors; the first was the added cassava waste consisting of five levels symbolised with (A) i.e. A1 = 30%, A2 = 40%, A3 = 50%, A4=60% and A5 = 70% and the second was the addition of cassava starch consisting of 5 levels symbolised with (C) i.e. C1=70%, C2= 60%, C3= 50%, C4 = 40% and C5= 30%. The observed variables are the sensory quality of the produced cassava rengginang including texture, colour, flavour and taste. The development power and the adsorption power were measured by comparing the perimeter and weight of the crude(unprocessed) and the fried (processed) cassava rengginang respectively. The cassava rengginang that is most preferred by the panellists with the highest development power off 61,49% is the combination of A2 C2 using a proportion between cassava waste and cassava starch of 40:60. The lowest oil adsorption power of 34,55% is shown by the combination of A1C1 with a proportion between cassava waste and cassava starch of 30:70 while for the sensory quality of texture, flavour and taste is shown by the combination A2C2 with a proportion between cassava waste and cassava starch of 40:60, whereas concerning the colour, the combination A1C1 is most preferred with a proportion between cassava waste and starch of 30:70.
