Abstract

Hypertension is a condition that is often found in health services. Hypertension is a condition when blood pressure in the blood vessels chronically increases. Many risk factors can cause hypertension, including age, race, gender, lifestyle, sodium consumption, smoking, alcohol consumption, stress level, and education. The urgency of this research is the large number of hypertension patients at the Purwodiningratan Surakarta Health Center and it is increasing almost every year. From the initial survey at the Purwodiningratan Surakarta Community Health Center, data was obtained that the number of hypertension patients over the last five years has increased, decreased, then increased again. This is supported by data on the number of hypertension patients in 2019 as many as 311, in 2020 as many as 214, in 2021 as many as 319, in 2022 as many as 125 and in 2023 up to now there are 335. The objective problem in this research is the number of patients with the disease. Hypertension increases from year to year, so research is needed on the relationship between knowledge, attitudes and family support and efforts to control hypertension. The importance of this research is as an effort to control hypertension which continues to increase from year to year by means of interviews and distributing leaflets with the aim of approaching the community. The aim of this research is to analyze how much impact the hypertension control program using the walet method (interviews and leaflets) has on the community. The achievement stages in this research are for the approach used in this research, namely cross sectional. The sample in this study was employees of the Purwodiningratan Health Center, totaling 41 respondents. The sampling technique uses the accidental sampling method based on inclusion and exclusion criteria. The statistical test used is the T test followed by a linear regression test at a significance level of 0.05.

Abstract

Sarcasm is a form of verbal bullying that often occurs unconsciously by the speaker. This study aims to examine the phenomenon of sarcasm-based verbal bullying in the school environment, focusing on degrading speech acts directed at junior high school (SMP) students in Surakarta, Indonesia. Through interviews with students who have been victims of sarcasm, this research analyzes the forms and impacts of sarcastic remarks they have experienced. The findings reveal that sarcasm is frequently used as a form of mockery or insult aimed at highlighting the victim’s shortcomings, whether in academic, physical, or social aspects. Each sarcastic utterance is analyzed using the theories of locution, illocution, and perlocution, showing that while the utterance may appear as a compliment on a literal level, it contextually demeans the victim. The perlocutionary effect includes feelings of shame, inferiority, and loss of self-confidence in the victim. These findings indicate that sarcasm as verbal bullying has the potential to damage students’ mental health and disrupt their social relationships. This study emphasizes the need for a school environment that supports positive communication, free from speech acts that have the potential to demean others.

Abstract

Employees are essential to the attainment of an organization's objectives, vision, and mission. Employees are essential to a business, hence the corporation must prioritize their requirements. Several issues arose. The employees' performance deteriorated because of insufficient remuneration. Several individuals did not fulfill their responsibilities punctually, leading to a reduction in their job output. The corporation offered incentives to improve their job performance. This research will investigate the correlation between incentives and employee work performance. The author will utilize all of them as a sample for this investigation. This procedure is termed census sampling. The study substantiates the efficacy of Variable X (incentive) and Variable Y (workers' job performance). The reliability test further validates the results' dependability. The correlation coefficient is 0.73. This indicates a robust correlation between incentives and employee work performance. The hypothesis test produced a score of 4.53, demonstrating that the tcount surpasses the ttable (2.101). Consequently, we may exclude the null hypothesis (H0), which posits that no correlation exists between incentives and employees' job performance. This indicates a substantial correlation between the incentive (variable X) and workers' job performance (variable Y). This research shows that a correlation exists between incentives and workers' job performance. The incentive was a contributing factor to the enhancement of employee performance, while other elements, such as working environment, also had a role.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of Technology Availability and Perceived Ease of Use on Academic Achievement with mediating variables of Perceived Behavior, Perceived Usefulness, and Subjective Norm. A qualitative approach with an explanatory design was used in this study. The research population consists of all students at Politeknik Bisnis Indonesia who actively use technology in academic activities, with a sample of 130 respondents selected through a purposive sampling technique. The research results show that Technology Availability has a significant positive effect on Perceived Behavioral Intention (T-Statistic 8.412; P-Value 0.000) and Perceived Usefulness (T-Statistic 3.249; P-Value 0.001). Perceived Ease of Use shows a significant positive effect on Perceived Usefulness (T-Statistic 10.875; P-Value 0.000) and Subjective Norm (T-Statistic 11.476; P-Value 0.000). These results support the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) theory. Additionally, Perceived Behavioral Intention and Perceived Usefulness each have a significant positive effect on Academic Achievement (T-Statistic 3.382; P-Value 0.001, T-Statistic 2.422; P-Value 0.016). However, Subjective Norms do not have a direct impact on Academic Achievement. (T-Statistik 1,452; P-Value 0,147). These findings highlight the importance of technology availability and perceived ease of use in enhancing students' academic performance by meditating on behavioural intention and perceived benefits. Recommendations are given for improving access and technology training in educational environments to maximize the use of technology in learning.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of counseling on the stress coping of HIV/AIDS patients during antiretroviral treatment (ARV). Using a quasi-experimental design of one-group pretest-posttest, this study involved 30 respondents of adults diagnosed with HIV/AIDS. The results showed that counseling interventions significantly increased the use of problem-focused coping strategies and reduced emotion-focused strategies among respondents. The results of the analysis showed that counseling interventions had a significant influence on the coping strategies used by patients. The mean problem-focused coping score increased from 15.00 (SD = 3.50) before counseling to 25.00 (SD = 4.00) after the intervention, indicating a significant improvement in the use of more adaptive coping strategies. In contrast, the average emotion-focused coping score decreased from 22.00 (SD = 5.00) to 15.00 (SD = 4.50), indicating that counseling was effective in reducing the use of emotion-based strategies. Counseling has an important role in helping patients manage stress and motivate adherence to medication. This research is expected to contribute to the understanding and management of stress in people with HIV/AIDS through appropriate interventions.

Abstract

This article analyses the juridical application of criminal law in cyberbullying cases in Indonesia. The rise of digital platforms has exacerbated cyberbullying incidents, highlighting gaps in existing criminal legislation. The research aims to explore these gaps and the challenges in enforcing legal provisions against perpetrators. Employing a normative juridical method, the study examines the legal framework surrounding cyberbullying, including relevant case studies to illustrate judicial practices. The findings reveal that while existing laws address cybercrime, they often fail to provide sufficient protection for victims of cyberbullying. The lack of specific legal provisions tailored to online harassment creates legal ambiguity, resulting in inconsistent verdicts. This study suggests enhancing the current legal framework by incorporating clear definitions and legal parameters for cyberbullying, thus improving victim protection and ensuring more consistent legal outcomes. The study contributes to the ongoing discussion on the intersection of law and technology, proposing legal reforms to better address modern cyber threats.
