Abstract

Testing of the tool is carried out to find out whether the product is in accordance with the purpose of reducing the risk of physical disturbance or discomfort when testing the tool. Product evaluation is carried out by testing the product to users in metallographic testing equipment carried out by students of the Engineering Department so that the desired results are actually obtained. From each QFD analysis for each consumer need, what is considered very important is the frame material that is strong but has a light weight, the highest percentage difficulty level is in the table frame section 25%, the importance level is in the table frame section 33%, and the estimated costs are on the tool frame parts 50%

Abstract

Re-design and repair of the furnace with a power consumption of 5000Watt was carried out to repair and add parts of the existing furnace. This is done so that the old furnace can be refined in its usefulness. In the re-design process, there are several stages, starting with the stage of making a sketch of the drawing, the size of the frame, the combustion chamber, and continuing at the stage of making working drawings. Next is the analysis of the calculation of the amount of heat released and the electricity consumption used. Based on the results of the furnace testing process, it can be concluded that the re-designed and repaired furnace is able to work optimally. The temperature produced by the furnace reaches 833°C within 26 minutes 34 second.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of chrome electroplating on the thickness and hardness of the spokes of a motorcycle wich has been electroplating nikel. This research was conducted in the laboratory room of PT. Enkei Indonesia and PT. Murni Cahaya Pratama Bekasi, West Java, Indonesia between January - March 2021 using nickel-chrome electroplating, the spokes of the motorcycle are made of st37 steel which has been electroplated with nickel, then electroplated with chrome. The parameters of the research were 4A, 6A, and 8A immersion currents. The tests carried out are thickness, hardness, macro structure and micro structure. The results showed that the effect of the strong current on the electroplating coating resulted in the highest value of thickness with an average of 26.77µm, the microstructure was corrosion resistant and non-magnetic, the macro structure showed the results of black spots indicating defects such as porosity and the highest value of hardness with an average 4H

Abstract

Varies drying temperature will be carried out to see the characteristics formed such as gloss, bending ability, and adhesion resistance. The SPCC plate was cut and then carried out an epoxy painting process and dried. Then proceed with painting by giving black color and drying. Then proceed with the provision of varnish with a composition of 1:0.3 varnish and solvent. After completion, it is then baked in an oven with temperature variations of 40, 60, and 80ËšC for 25 minutes. The temperature of 40ËšC produces the highest gloss, which is 98.9 GU, good adhesion because there is no peeling paint and good bending results because there are no cracks.

Abstract

Fish meat shredder machine is used to increase the added value of the product, so that the selling price of products produced from fish raw materials increases and is profitable for fishermen on the Tanggamus coast. Making a fish meat shredding machine begins with designing using solid work and making technical drawings with details. The manufacture is carried out and then assembling and testing the performance of the shredder machine. The test results show that the shredder machine has been successfully made with a production capacity of up to 2 kg in 15 minutes. The whistling time of 15 minutes resulted in small and relatively uniform shreds of fish meat. Thus, the test results of the shredder machine can produce better cuts of meat and in a relatively short time.

Abstract

The purpose of this experiment is to get insulator from all three material (wood, rubber and styrofoam) which will produce a good heat insulator on thermoelectric. This research was conducted on the open floor at the Faculty of Engineering, University Muhammadiyah Prof. DR. HAMKA in Jakarta, Indonesia between March-October 2019 by using 3 thermoelectric. The hope of this experiment is to produce the most electricity from the three materials.

Abstract

Proses pengecoran logam (casting) adalah salah satu teknik pembuatan suatu produk dengan cara logam dicairkan dalam tungku peleburan lalu lanjut dituang ke dalam ruang cetakan yang serupa dengan bentuk asli dari produk coran yang akan dibuat. Pada penelitian ini akan dirancang dan dibuat tungku berbahan bakar LPG. Tungku gas ini nantinya dibuat dan diaplikasikan sebagai alat peleburan logam aluminium. Pada proses rancang bangun tungku gas diawali dengan pembuatan sketsa tungku, perencanaan ukuran dari benda kerja, kemudian proses pembuatan gambar kerja, pemilihan material, dan proses pembuatan Setelah pembuatan tungku selesai dilakukan proses pengujian tungku itu sendiri untuk meleburkan aluminium. Dari hasil pengujian tungku berhasil meleburkan 2 kg aluminium dalam waktu 45 menit.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan menentukan kekuatan tarik dan kekuatan impact komposit dengan penguat serbuk sabut kelapa ukuran >75 mm dengan matriks polyester. Bahan yang digunakan merupakan komposit dengan komposisi resin dan serbuk masing-masing 80%:20%, 70%:30%, 60%:40%. Kedua bahan dicampur dengan kecepatan 150 rpm menggunakan pencampur mekanik selama 10 menit. Standar ASTM D638-02 untuk uji tarik dan ASTM D265 untuk uji impak digunakan dalam pengujian sifat mekanik bahan. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan komposisi 60%:40% memiliki energi impak tertinggi sebesar 78,54 J, dan energi impact terendah pada komposisi 70%:30% sebesar 46,43 J. Hasil yang mirip ditunjukkan oleh kekuatan tarik bahan, dengan nilai tertinggi pada komposisi 70%:30% sebesar 15,31 N/mm2 dan nilai kekuatan tarik terendah pada komposisi 60%:40% sebesar 11,67 N/mm2.

Abstract

A vehicle is said to be good if it can provide a sense of security and comfort for the driver. All types of two-wheeled, four-wheeled and heavy vehicles are equipped with a brake system that functions to reduce and stop the speed of the vehicle or allow the vehicle to park in a downhill area. The purpose of this study was to analyze the brake system disturbances in four-wheeled vehicles with automatic transmission types, especially the causes of vibration in the brake system. In analyzing the brake system disturbance, several tools are needed to support the data collection process, including caliper, micrometer, and dial gauge. The causes of brake system disturbances on Honda Mobilio cars and the handling that must be done when a disturbance occurs in the Honda Mobilio brake system. From the results of the measurement of the run out of the disc rotor, the difference in variations reaches 0.059 mm so that the disc rotor must be lathe. After turning the disc rotor, the result of the run out measurement is 0.003 mm and the thickness obtained is 20.702 mm which is still within the tolerance limit for use

Abstract

Breakdown is one of the problems faced by the manufacturing company PT. Bakrie Autoparts which is engaged in the Disc Brake automotive component industry for four or more wheeled vehicles. There was a breakdown on the LB 02 lathe an average of 42.5 hours per month that exceeded the tolerance limit determined by the company which is 25 hours per mont causing the production target not to be achieved. Based on this, research is carried out which aims to calculate the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) value, determine the most dominant type of Six Big Losses, and provide suggestions for improvement efforts to increase the effectiveness of the LB 02 lathe. The results showed the average value of Overall Equipment Effectiveness ( OEE) lathe LB 02, which is 81.43%, then this value is included in the moderate condition which includes an availability rate of 86.80%, a performance rate of 94.15%, a quality rate of 99.70%. Equipment Failure Losss is the most dominant in influencing the decrease in the effectiveness of the LB 02 lathe with an average value of 8.40% with an influence percentage of 46.41%. Proposed improvements include checking the source and supply voltage every day before starting the production process, checking and replacing engine parts, especially belts once a week and every 3 months for replacement, and checking the condition of lubricating oil and coolant every day after the production process.
