Abstract

This article aims to explore the transformation model of madrasah management through the integration of Islamic values, artificial intelligence (AI), and participatory management in responding to the challenges of Society 5.0. Using the systematic literature review (SLR) method, this study analyzed 45 selected publications from the Scopus database, ERIC, and Islamic education journals (2018–2023). The results of the study show that the concept of "Madrasah 5.0" can be realized through three main pillars: (1) humanist technology based on the principles of tawhid and adab, (2) collaborative governance that adopts digital sura, and (3) AI-based continuous evaluation system to maintain the harmony of Islamic values. Key challenges include cultural resistance, limitations of digital infrastructure, and the risk of technological reduction in spiritual value. This article recommends strengthening AI literacy, developing open source participatory platforms, and revising madrasah management policies by the Ministry of Religion of the Republic of Indonesia.

Abstract

The implementation of Total Quality Management (TQM) in education requires a holistic approach that involves visionary leadership and a collaborative organizational culture. Total Quality Management (TQM) has been adopted in the education sector to improve learning quality, administrative efficiency, and stakeholder satisfaction (students, parents, and the community). However, its implementation is often hampered by bureaucratic resistance, lack of teacher training, and hierarchical organizational culture. This article analyzes how transformational leadership and learning-based culture play a role in improving the quality of education through TQM. The research uses a qualitative approach with a comparative case study design to analyze the role of leadership and organizational culture in the implementation of Total Quality Management (TQM) in educational institutions. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews with participants (principals, teachers, students, staff), participatory observation of TQM activities (such as coordination meetings and quality workshops), and analysis of policy documents and quality reports. The selection of participants is carried out purposively with the criteria of a minimum of two years of involvement in the TQM program. The data were analyzed thematically using NVivo 12 software through the stages of transcription, coding, and source triangulation to validate the findings, this study reveals that the success of TQM is determined by the leader's ability to empower stakeholders as well as the culture that supports pedagogical innovation. These findings provide practical recommendations for educational institutions to optimize TQM through the integration of participatory leadership and performance-based reward systems.

Abstract

The quality of formal education services is the main indicator of the success of educational institutions in carrying out their strategic functions. This study aims to analyze the implementation of performance accountability and managerial strategies in improving the quality of formal education services. This study uses a literature approach by examining a number of scientific articles related to the topic in question. The results of the study show that performance accountability plays an important role in creating transparency and improving the achievement of educational institutions. Managerial strategies, including planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating functions, have proven to be effective in supporting service quality. In addition, the role of the principal, the pedagogic competence of teachers, the implementation of innovative learning models, and proper classroom management are determining factors in improving quality. These findings imply that the integration of accountability and a systematic and sustainable managerial strategy is key in creating quality formal education.

Abstract

Creative learning is an approach that emphasizes the development of students’ critical thinking, imagination, and innovation skills. This article discusses the concept of creative learning, its implementation strategies, and its impact on improving students’ skills. A literature review method is used to examine recent research and theories on creative learning. The results indicate that learning strategies that encourage experimentation, discussion, and creative projects can significantly enhance students’ understanding, motivation, and skills. Implementing creative learning is key to producing adaptive and innovative generations.

Abstract

Humanistic learning theory positions human beings as the primary subjects in the learning process by emphasizing the holistic development of learners’ potential, encompassing cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects. This article aims to examine the concept of humanistic learning theory and its relevance to the implementation of learning based on educational process standards. This study employs a qualitative approach through a literature review of various relevant sources, including books, scholarly journals, and national education regulations. The findings indicate that humanistic learning theory, as proposed by figures such as Abraham Maslow and Carl Rogers, emphasizes the importance of self-actualization, freedom to learn, respect for individual uniqueness, and the creation of a safe, comfortable, and democratic learning environment. The application of humanistic theory within learning process standards is reflected in learner-oriented instructional planning, student-centered learning implementation, and assessment practices that focus not only on final outcomes but also on learners’ processes and development. Therefore, the integration of humanistic learning theory into process-standard-based instruction contributes to the formation of learners who are characterized by strong character, independence, reflectiveness, and the ability to optimally develop their potential in accordance with the demands of 21st-century education.

Abstract

Experimental learning is an approach that emphasizes students' active engagement in the learning process through direct experimentation. This article aims to analyze various experimental learning strategies implemented at the secondary education level and to evaluate their effectiveness in enhancing conceptual understanding and scientific process skills. The research method employs a literature review of 15 national and international journals published between 2020 and 2024. The analysis shows that experimental learning strategies such as guided inquiry, problem-based experiments, and project-based experiments consistently improve student engagement, critical thinking skills, and knowledge retention. The discussion also addresses implementation challenges such as limited equipment, time constraints, and teacher competence. This article recommends continuous teacher training and the development of contextual experimental modules.

Abstract

This article explores the implementation of distance learning in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) during the digital era. Distance Learning (DL) emerged as a primary educational alternative during the COVID-19 pandemic, revealing both benefits and challenges in fostering spiritual values. Advantages of DL include flexibility in time and location, expanded access to Islamic materials via digital platforms, and the opportunity to integrate religious values with technology through tools such as Qur’an apps and automatic prayer time reminders. However, DL faces obstacles including limited teacher-student interaction for character building, internet and device limitations, and declining student motivation due to unconducive home learning environments. Solutions involve active collaboration between teachers and parents as spiritual companions, and the use of creative teaching methods such as interactive quizzes, short dakwah videos, and Islamic storytelling. Platforms like Google Classroom, Zoom, and WhatsApp Group can also be optimized to maintain engagement and ensure the effectiveness of Islamic learning remotely

Abstract

This study examines the strengthening of moral character (akhlak) in Generation Alpha through Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning based on humanistic theory. Generation Alpha, raised in a digital culture, possesses advantages such as broad access to information, independence, and critical thinking skills. However, they also face significant challenges in moral development due to technological exposure and limited direct social interaction. PAI plays a strategic role as a moral foundation that balances students’ intellectual, spiritual, and emotional intelligence. This research employs a qualitative method with a library research approach, using content analysis of ten journal articles and several relevant academic books. The findings indicate that humanistic theory which emphasizes freedom of thought, respect for human dignity, self-actualization, and child-centered learning is highly relevant to be integrated into PAI instruction. Humanistic approaches such as empathy, open dialogue, worship habituation, storytelling, experiential reflection, and the use of interactive digital media have proven effective in enhancing moral behavior, discipline, empathy, and spiritual intelligence among Generation Alpha. Nonetheless, challenges remain, including cognitively oriented curricula, digital media influence, lack of family role models, and ethical dilemmas in the technological era. This study underscores the importance of adaptive, humanistic, and contextual PAI learning designs as a strategy to develop a morally upright, adaptable, and Islamically grounded Generation Alpha

Abstract

Learning and instruction are two fundamental concepts in education that are closely related. Learning is defined as an internal process through which individuals acquire knowledge, skills, attitudes, and values through experience and interaction with the environment. Instruction, on the other hand, refers to a planned effort conducted by educators to create conditions that facilitate effective learning. This article aims to examine the concepts of learning and instruction and their relationship in improving educational quality. The method used is a literature review of relevant scientific sources. The results indicate that systematically designed, learner-centered instruction can promote meaningful learning processes.

Abstract

Religious moderation has become an important issue in Islamic religious education amid the reality of social diversity in Indonesia. Islamic Religious Education in schools plays a strategic role in shaping students’ balanced, tolerant, and inclusive religious attitudes. This article aims to examine the integration of religious moderation values in the learning process of Islamic Religious Education in schools. This study employs a literature review approach by analyzing relevant academic sources, including books, journal articles, and educational policy documents. The findings indicate that the integration of religious moderation values can be systematically implemented through the development of contextual learning materials, the application of dialogical and reflective learning methods, and the strengthening of humanistic educational interactions. Such integration contributes to the formation of students’ moderate religious character and their ability to live harmoniously in a diverse society.
