Item index discrimination and reliability testing in this research used the Cronbach's Alpha technique. The results of the item index discrimination on the self-regulation scale ranged from 0.320 to 0.631. The results of the item index discrimination on the resilience scale ranged from 0.300 to 0.722. Self-regulation reliability coefficient of 0.887 and a resilience scale of 0.893. Based on data analysis, the correlation value between self-regulation and resilience is r = 0.532 (p < 0.05), meaning there is a significant correlation between self-regulation and the resilience of non-residential students for Electrical Engineering students at the Padang State Polytechnic. Correlation in a positive direction show that the higher the self-regulation, the higher the resilience and conversely, the lower the self-regulation, the lower the resilience.

Abstract

This study aimed to explore the effectiveness of video modeling in reducing submissive behavior in students with intellectual disabilities who have been victims of bullying in inclusive school. Submissive behavior, characterized by the inability to defend oneself or express opinions, often emerges when faced with stressful situations. Video modeling was used as an intervention to provide examples of assertive behavior that the students could imitate. This research employed a single-subject method involving a student with an intellectual disability identified as a victim of bullying. The student participated in six video modeling sessions depicting positive social interaction scenarios. Data was collected through direct observation, interviews, psychological tests, and informal assessments administered to teachers and parents. The analysis results showed a significant improvement in the student’s ability to express opinions and a reduction in submissive behavior. These findings indicate that video modeling can be an effective tool in supporting students with intellectual disabilities to overcome bullying and reduce submissive behavior in inclusive school environments.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of student engagement and school well-being on learning motivation among students. The research respondents consisted of 95 students from the Faculty of Psychology at Universitas Muhammadiyah Banjarmasin, class of 2023 and 2024, who were selected using the simple random sampling technique. The estimated value of Cronbach's Alpha reliability on the student engagement scale is 0.907, on the school well-being scale is 0.908, and on the learning motivation scale is 0.929. The results of the analysis using multiple linear regression show that student engagement and school well-being simultaneously have a significant effect on learning motivation (R² = 0.339). Partially, student engagement has a significant influence with b = 0.64 (p < 0.001), and school well-being with b = 0.206 (p = 0.028). These results indicate that the higher the student’s engagement in learning and their school well-being in the educational environment, the greater their motivation to learn. This research emphasizes the importance of creating an academic environment that supports student engagement and school well-being to enhance students' learning motivation. Further studies are recommended to explore additional factors that influence learning motivation to expand the understanding of this dynamic.
