Abstract

Pintu Batu Village faces challenges regarding the completeness of environmental information infrastructure in the form of street signs and the management of inorganic waste, which has not been utilized creatively. This community service activity aims to improve environmental order and resident creativity through mutual cooperation, the installation of street signs in RT 02, and handicraft training using recycled materials. Furthermore, early childhood education regarding the importance of proper waste disposal was provided to the children of TK Cerdik Pintu Batu through engaging approaches such as morning exercises and collective coloring activities. The method employed is a participatory-educational approach involving coordination with local officials and direct handson practice with the residents. The results of the activity indicate an increase in citizen participation in mutual cooperation and the creation of recycled products such as flower pots from plastic bottle and beverage baskets from plastic cup waste. The existence of new street signs facilitates easier navigation within the neighborhood, while the educational activities at the kindergarten level strengthen the foundation of environmental awareness from an early age.

Abstract

Waste is a significant issue in the community, including in RT 06, Pematang Gubernur Village, Bengkulu City. Children's lack of understanding about waste sorting leads to a lot of mixed waste and careless dumping, especially around gutters. This Community Service Program (KKN) aims to increase children's awareness and skills in processing and sorting waste from an early age. The implementation method is an educational approach that includes outreach, material provision, interactive games, and hands-on practice of sorting organic and inorganic waste. The results of the activity indicate an increase in children's understanding and enthusiasm for environmental cleanliness. Children are beginning to differentiate between types of waste and demonstrate a caring attitude towards their surroundings. This program is expected to foster positive and sustainable habits in maintaining environmental cleanliness in RT 06.

Abstract

Limited access to justice and suboptimal governance of legal research institutions at universities often hinder the fulfillment of the public’s constitutional rights, particularly in addressing critical issues in Kendari City such as agrarian conflicts and low legal literacy. This community service initiative aims to reconstruct the governance of PUSSAKO FH-UHO to transform it into a progressive, accountable, and innovative research institution. The method employed is Participatory Organizational Empowerment, which includes stages of internal audit, Focus Group Discussions, and capacity-building workshops based on a progressive legal paradigm. The results of the community service initiative demonstrate significant transformation in the organizational structure, which is now more responsive and accountable in addressing legal issues in Kendari City. Key findings include the institution’s success in drafting a policy on land data protection, as well as the enhancement of advocacy and constitutional literacy programs for marginalized communities. This demonstrates that strengthening the internal governance of the study center can bridge the gap between formal regulations and the community’s need for substantive justice. In conclusion, the restructuring of PUSSAKO FH-UHO’s governance has strategic implications for public policy practices through the provision of more inclusive legal recommendations and the strengthening of access to social justice. Transformative research institutions play a vital role as driving forces in realizing a progressive, independent, and sustainable legal culture in the Southeast Sulawesi region.

Abstract

This community service activity aimed to strengthen the implementation of ethnomathematics in mathematics instruction through the Subject Teacher Consultation Forum (MGMP) in Maros Regency. The primary challenges faced by the partner group included limited teacher understanding of ethnomathematics concepts and constraints in developing culturally based instructional materials. The program was conducted through workshops and mentoring activities involving mathematics teachers as participants. The implementation stages included observation, planning, execution, and evaluation. The findings indicate a significant improvement in teachers’ understanding and competencies, as evidenced by questionnaire results categorized as “very good” and increased pretest-posttest scores. Furthermore, teachers successfully produced ethnomathematics-based instructional products, such as student worksheets, mathematical literacy problems, and teaching modules contextualized to local culture. The program also enhanced teachers’ practical skills in designing innovative and meaningful learning experiences. Therefore, workshops conducted through the MGMP forum proved effective in improving teacher competencies and supporting the collaborative and sustainable implementation of ethnomathematics-based instruction

Abstract

The ability to utilize artificial intelligence (AI) technology is a crucial competency that young people must possess in the digital era. This community service activity aims to implement prompting training and the use of AI-based media for grade XI and XII students of SMK Dwijendra Denpasar from three departments: Computer and Network Engineering (TKJ), Accounting, and Hospitality. The implementation methods include interactive workshops, hands-on practice, and problem-based projects. A total of 87 students from the three departments actively participated in this program. The results show an increase in prompting ability by 93.7% and AI-based media usage ability by 130.0% after the training. Students also demonstrated significant improvement in confidence in using AI technology for learning and work purposes. This program proves that structured and contextual AI training is effective in improving the digital skills of SMK students across department.
