Abstract

This study explores the effectiveness of constructivist and traditional approaches in teaching Arabic to beginners. The constructivist approach, grounded in active learning and real-world application, emphasizes learner engagement and collaborative learning. The traditional approach, however, focuses on structured grammar-based instruction, providing learners with a foundational understanding of language rules. Through a comparative analysis of two groups of beginners—one taught using a constructivist approach and the other using a traditional method—the research examines differences in engagement, motivation, and skill development (speaking, listening, reading, writing). Data was collected through classroom observations, interviews, and questionnaires to assess the participants' experiences and perceptions. Results indicate that learners in the constructivist group showed higher engagement and improved speaking and listening skills, while the traditional group excelled in reading and writing.

Abstract

This study investigates teachers' perceptions and implementation of social justice principles in multicultural secondary school settings. Utilizing a phenomenological and mixed-method approach, the research explores how educators understand and apply concepts such as equitable resource distribution, cultural recognition, and inclusive pedagogy. Data were collected through surveys and in-depth interviews with teachers from diverse educational backgrounds. The findings reveal varied perceptions of social justice, influenced by factors such as teaching experience, educational training, and school location. Additionally, differences in classroom practices—ranging from culturally responsive curricula to fair disciplinary policies—highlight the complexity of promoting equity in educational settings. The study contributes to the theoretical understanding of social justice in education and offers practical recommendations for fostering inclusive and equitable learning environments.

Abstract

This study investigates the relationship between motivation, learning strategies, and the development of lifelong learning competencies among adult learners. In the context of global educational trends and digital transformation, lifelong learning has become crucial for individuals to remain competitive and adaptable. Using a correlational quantitative approach, data were collected from adult learners enrolled in professional development and vocational training programs. The findings indicate that both learning motivation and learning strategies are significant predictors of lifelong learning competencies. Regression analysis and Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) confirmed that higher motivation and the use of effective learning strategies positively influence the development of lifelong learning competencies. Additionally, demographic factors such as age and program type showed variations in learner outcomes. The results highlight the importance of fostering intrinsic motivation and equipping learners with self-regulated learning strategies to enhance their lifelong learning capacities. This research contributes to the understanding of adult education and offers practical recommendations for educators and program designers to create more effective adult learning environments.

Abstract

This study investigates the impact of metacognitive training on enhancing problem-solving skills among secondary school students. Employing a quasi-experimental design with pre-test and post-test control groups, the research involved 60 students divided into experimental and control groups. The experimental group participated in an 8-week metacognitive training program focusing on planning, monitoring, and evaluating learning strategies. Data were collected through problem-solving skill tests, the Metacognitive Awareness Inventory, and student reflection journals. The findings revealed a significant improvement in the problem-solving abilities of students who underwent metacognitive training, as indicated by higher post-test scores and increased metacognitive awareness. Qualitative data from reflections and teacher observations further confirmed the development of self-regulated learning behaviors and strategic problem-solving approaches among participants. The results underscore the effectiveness of integrating metacognitive instruction into the curriculum to foster critical thinking and adaptive learning in secondary education.

Abstract

This research investigates the influence of Self-Regulated Learning (SRL) on academic achievement through a cognitive-behavioral lens. SRL is recognized as a pivotal skill that enables learners to actively manage their learning processes, including setting goals, monitoring progress, and applying self-reflective strategies. The study adopts a quantitative correlational approach to examine how students' SRL competencies relate to their academic outcomes. The findings demonstrate a significant positive correlation between SRL and academic performance, suggesting that students with stronger self-regulation tend to achieve higher academic success. These results reinforce the cognitive-behavioral perspective, highlighting the importance of self-regulation in fostering effective learning behaviors. The study provides valuable implications for educational practice, particularly in designing programs aimed at enhancing students' SRL skills to boost academic achievement.

Abstract

This study investigates the influence of global competency frameworks on the development of 21st-century skills among secondary school students. In the context of growing globalization, schools are increasingly integrating global competencies—such as intercultural understanding, global awareness, and collaborative problem-solving—into their curricula to better prepare students for the demands of the modern world. Using a mixed-methods approach, this research collected data from 150 students across three schools through surveys and semi-structured interviews with teachers and school leaders. Quantitative analysis using linear regression and SEM revealed that global competency significantly predicts the enhancement of communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and creativity skills among students. Additionally, qualitative findings highlighted differences in framework implementation between urban and suburban schools, with urban schools showing more frequent use of technology-driven and international programs. The study contributes to strengthening global education theory and provides practical recommendations for integrating global competency frameworks into secondary education systems

Abstract

This study explores the role of trauma-informed leadership in shaping protective policies for students in post-disaster contexts. Utilizing a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis involving school leaders, teachers, counselors, and students in disaster-affected areas. The findings reveal that school leaders play a critical role in adopting trauma-informed principles to ensure the creation of safe and supportive learning environments. These principles are reflected in the formulation of school policies aimed at safeguarding the psychosocial well-being of students who have experienced trauma. Despite challenges such as limited resources and systemic barriers, trauma-informed leadership enhances the effectiveness of protection policies and promotes a holistic recovery for affected students. The study contributes to the growing discourse on trauma-responsive education and offers practical implications for educational policymakers and practitioners in disaster-prone regions.

Abstract

This study examines the impact of digital learning environments on student achievement and teaching effectiveness. Drawing on a wide range of recent findings, the research highlights how the integration of digital tools in education has transformed traditional instructional approaches. Results indicate that digital technologies significantly enhance student engagement, conceptual understanding, and academic performance across educational levels. Personalized and flexible learning enabled by e-learning platforms caters to individual student needs, improving both satisfaction and outcomes. For teachers, the use of interactive tools supports innovative teaching methods and boosts instructional effectiveness. However, challenges such as the digital divide and limited access to resources remain significant barriers. The study also emphasizes the importance of professional development in equipping educators with the necessary digital competencies. Furthermore, hybrid learning models that blend traditional and digital methods are found to improve motivation and outcomes for both students and teachers. In conclusion, while digital learning environments present substantial benefits, addressing access and training issues is essential to fully realize their potential in enhancing educational quality.
