Abstract

In the current research stream, organizational politics is a common challenge every employee must deal in routine operations. Perception of Politics (Pop) may affect the work attitude and behavior of the employees at work place. The current study aimed to examine the associations between PoP and job performance with the mediating role of taking charge. The research also aimed to investigate the potential moderating influence of work unit structure on the relationship between PoP and talking charge. To test the hypothesized relationships data was gathered from a sample of 287 employees working in textile industry in Punjab region of Pakistan. The results affirmed all the hypotheses. The impact of PoP on job performance through mediation of taking charge was approved. Similar results were found for moderation of work unit structure between and taking charge. The managerial implications limitations and future directions of the study are also discussed in later sections of this research.

Abstract

This research presents an empirical examination of innovation capacity as a source of incentive for economic growth. This work introduces a novel framework by incorporating availability of latest technology, quality of management schools, intellectual property protection and intensity of local competition as the important antecedents of innovation capacity. Furthermore, it is also proposed that innovation capacity results in the outcome of economic growth of a country. Based on the previous literature five hypotheses were posed. The study utilized secondary data for 151 countries from year 2012 t0 2016 extracted from Global Information Technology Reports (GITR). The GITR is a special project of the World Economic Forum (WEF) that is published annually. Descriptive statistics and Fixed Effect Model were used to examine the hypothesized relationships and generate results. Analyses of data concluded that the entire hypotheses were approved. As use of latest technology, quality management schools, protection of intellectual property and healthy local competition enhances the level of national innovation capacity which leads to higher economic growth. These findings have important implications for research and practice as a country can contribute in economic growth by enhancing its innovation capacity.

Abstract

This study highlighted the social development of less developed areas students enrolled in the National Outreach Program (NOP). The research objective was to know students' perceptions of their social development during the National Outreach Program at Cadet College Hasanabdal. The descriptive survey research design was applied. The 169 male students were taken as a sample of research by using the total population sampling technique. A social development questionnaire was developed by the researcher that was used in this research. The validity of questionnaires was checked through a panel of experts and pilot testing checked reliability. The results indicated that NOP has significantly developed the social skills of students. It can be concluded that NOP is an intervention that paves the path toward an effective learning process. As results indicated a positive change in students due to the NOP in terms of communication skills, building self-esteem, strengthening learning skills, co-curricular activities, and establishing a positive attitude. The national outreach program is run under the Pakistan Institute of Parliamentary Services (PIPS). NOP implies awareness in the fields of civil society, youth, socialization, and engagement. Therefore, it is recommended that government may initiate a NOP program for less developed areas students that facilitates them to acquire social learning skills necessary for their academic success.

Abstract

Long-term, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and robotics may have an outsized effect on universities. Understanding the full scope of this impact is complicated by the siloed nature of the relevant literature and the fluidity of key notions. This present study is intended to understand how and to AI can facilitate the higher education sector. Design fiction that vividly imagines scenarios of future use of artificial intelligence or robotics offers a way to explain and question the possibilities of technology. This paper details how we used a narrative literature review to create eight design fictions that illustrate the breadth of opportunities for AI and robots in education, administration, and investigation. They generate larger conversations by highlighting how they might teach higher-level skills, shift employee responsibilities, and address consequences for human agency and digitalization. The current study's findings outline the 8 fictions to outline the comprehensive understanding of the uses of IA in the academic sector of higher education. The narrative literature is reviewed extensively, emphasizing the social, ethical, pedagogical, and administrative concerns of automating via AI and robots in HE. Readers interested in challenging assumptions about the future are encouraged to go "in the other way" and approach the book. One possible explanation for their fictional status is this.

Abstract

This research aimed to explore the dynamics of international trade, capital flows and Gross domestic product developing economies from January 1, 2013 to Dec 31, 2022. Bivariate and Multivariate Cointegration, Granger Causality, and Vector Error Correction Model (VECM) tests were considered for results calculation. The methodology explored the short/long run and cause and effect relation among variables. International trade and Capital flow integrated financially with international investment of GDP. GDP was showing the growth of investment with capital flow to provide more opportunities for investors. Capital flow and international trade regarding cointegration effect, GDP exposed the relation with these. The Bivariate Co integration of GDP with capital flow and international trade exist. A short run dynamic of capital flow with GDP and GDP with International trade exists. It is implicated that return’s behavior regarding investment could be a best for economic upswing and to choose the policies about macroeconomics, financial markets and to choose the best flight for assisting escalation investment process growth, portfolio investment during financial globalization. Moreover, business culture improvements will attract government to regard the multinational and national investors in case of early competition, and economic growth long run.

Abstract

This research study was designed to investigate the impact of religion on students’ performance: a study among Muslim students. The population of the study was secondary school students in District Bahawalpur. Multistage sampling technique was used to select the sample. Total of 480 secondary school students were included in the study. Researchers adopted Comprehensive Measure of Islamic Religion (CMIR) to measure the Islamic religion of Muslim students. A self-developed questionnaire was used to measure the student’s performance at the secondary level. Religion was further divided into two subscales. 1. Religious belief and 2. Religious practice. The Significant findings of this study were: Students strongly believe in their religion and follow their religious rules. They avoid sin and do well. It was also observed that they prayed to GOD for help and ideal students maintain a balance between curriculum and co-curriculum activities. This research will open avenue for scholars and as well practioners from the religious point of view.

Abstract

This manuscript examines the impact of education, Research & Development (R&D) and Information and Communications Technology (ICT), on economic growth of middle-income countries using panel data set from1995 to 2019. We employ panel data set using few tests such as panel unit root test and Fully Modified Ordinary Least Square (FMOLS). The main findings indicate mobile subscriptions (proxy of ICT) has positive effect on economic growth of these countries. Education also positively influences economic growth. R&D has been observed to affect economic growth positively. This study concludes with some policy recommendations and suggestions that may be helpful for future studies. It has been found that an increase of the most educated labor force does not lead to a higher growth rate. Therefore, this study concludes that people with tertiary education must be occupied with strong human capital and cognitive skills

Abstract

This investigation explores the connections between narcissism, intimacy, affiliation, and power motivation. The information from the individuals was gathered. Using the NPI-16, a test for narcissistic personality, which Cameron P. Anderson, Paul Rose, and Daniel Ames invented it in 2006. The Carl J. Descutner and Thelen (1991) Intimacy Scale having (38 items) and the Unified Motive Scale are based on a joint IRT analysis of 14 existing motive scales that was developed by (Schonbrodt & Gerstenberg, 2012). 300 individuals from various colleges (government and private) and the University of Haripur made up the sample. Data was gathered using the convenience sample method with a door-to-door survey, and the link between the hypotheses and data was evaluated using the t test, Pearson correlation, and independent t test. The study's hypotheses were confirmed. According to current study intimacy has positive correlation with affiliation and power motive and affiliation has also positive correlation with power motive. The results indicate that, in comparison to women, men scored highly on narcissism. By using Pearson correlation method findings indicate that narcissism has non-significant negative relation with power motive. The study's conclusions would be beneficial and encouraging for academics, educators, and counsellors to suggest how to deal with narcissism issues, through which process we increase affiliation and intimacy and how we become more motivated to get power through skills, appreciation and enhance reputation in a positive way and by don’t violating others.

Abstract

Suicide bombing, a comparatively modern and highly devastating form of terrorism, severely impacts the victims. However, the long-term impacts of such incidents are not comprehensively explored in the context of educational institutes in Balochistan, the largest province of Pakistan. This study empirically quantifies the long-term socio-psychological consequences of suicide bombings on victims in educational institutions, specifically women's universities in Balochistan, by analyzing the 2013 suicide bombing attack on the Sardar Bahadur Khan Women's (SBKW) University in Quetta, Pakistan. The study was conducted using a quantitative research design approach where the primary data was collected from a random representative sample of 357 direct victims using a cross-sectional survey approach. The questionnaire captured various socio-psychological variables such as trauma, doubtfulness, social support and isolation, and coping mechanisms, while different inferential statistical analyses, such as regression, correlation, and ANOVA tests, were employed to evaluate the relationships between variables. Our analysis revealed that victims of the SBKW University suicide bombing experienced significant psychological distress and social dissatisfaction with a strong correlation of r = 0.16, p < 0.001, and r = 0.19, p < 0.001, respectively. This study provides a quantitative understanding of the long-term impacts of suicide bombings on victims to inform policy development and intervention strategies. Overall, this research provides nuanced insights into the complex effects of suicide bombings on victims by highlighting the need for improved security measures and resilience-building initiatives and underscoring the need to address their socio-psychological well-being in post-conflict an post-disaster contexts

Abstract

The current study focuses on the mediating role of Innovative Employee Behavior (IEB) between Inclusive Organizational Behavior (IOB) and Organization Innovation (OI). The data were gathered through a structured 5 points Likert scale questionnaire from 298 respondents working in the textile industry of Pakistan. The data were analyzed by using Smart PLS v 3.2.8. Results confirmed the mediating role of Innovative Employee Behavior (IEB) between Inclusive Organizational Behavior (IOB) and Organization Innovation (OI). Results also found that the IOB has a significant positive relationship with IEB and OI. Limited studies have been done on the mediating role of IEB by using the Diffusion of Innovation (DOI) theory in developing countries.
