Abstract

The rapid advancement of technology in the globalization era has transformed education, emphasizing the integration of innovative tools to enhance learning quality. This study investigates the influence of interactive learning media using a digital storytelling approach on student learning outcomes in Informatics at SMPN 5 Padang Panjang. It combines narratives with multimedia elements like images, audio, video, and animations to make learning more engaging and meaningful. Employing a quantitative quasi-experimental design, this research involved 62 grade VIII students: 31 in the experimental group (using interactive digital storytelling media) and 31 in the control group (conventional methods). Data were collected via pre- and post-tests, analyzed using Shapiro-Wilk for normality (Sig. > 0.05, confirming normal distribution), Levene's test for homogeneity (Sig. = 0.103 > 0.05, indicating equal variances), and independent sample t-test for hypothesis testing. Results revealed a significant difference in post-test scores: the experimental group's mean was 87.94 (SD = 7.711), compared to the control group's 82.29 (SD = 10.706). The t-test yielded t_count = 2.38 > t_table = 1.671 (df = 60, α = 0.05, Sig. = 0.020), rejecting the null hypothesis and confirming a positive, significant effect. Students in the experimental group showed high enthusiasm and active participation, particularly in understanding Computer Systems material.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of using Wordwall-based educational games in Problem-Based Learning (PBL) on the learning outcomes of Informatics subject at SMP Negeri 1 Angkola Barat. The research method used is a quasi-experimental design with a non-equivalent control group design approach. The research sample consists of two classes: the experimental class using Wordwall educational games in PBL-based learning and the control class using conventional methods. Data collection was carried out through pretest and posttest to measure students' learning outcomes. The analysis results show that the data are normally distributed and homogeneous, so an independent t-test was conducted. The calculated t-value of 3.04 is greater than the t-table value of 2.002 with a significance of 0.004 (<0.05), indicating a significant difference between the two groups. The posttest mean score for the experimental class was 87.83, while for the control class it was 80.63, demonstrating a significant improvement in students' learning outcomes through the use of educational games. The results of this research affirm that integrating interactive learning media such as Wordwall in PBL can enhance students' motivation, engagement, and understanding of Informatics material, serving as an effective alternative in 21st-century learning.

Abstract

Job hopping is a phenomenon of frequent job changes that has become increasingly prevalent among Generation Z, who are young workers. Generation Z tends to switch jobs in order to meet their expectations related to satisfaction and work-life balance. This study aims to examine the relationship between job satisfaction and work-life balance with job hopping behavior among Generation Z. The subjects of this study were Generation Z employees currently working at PT. X Surabaya, with a population size of 130 individuals. The sampling technique used was probability sampling with the random sampling method, resulting in a sample of 108 respondents. Multiple regression analysis was employed as the data analysis technique. The results of the analysis show that job satisfaction and work-life balance have a simultaneous and significant relationship with job hopping. Both job satisfaction and work-life balance were found to have a negative association with job hopping, with job satisfaction having a stronger influence compared to work-life balance.

Abstract

In today’s competitive job market, the ability to compose a professional English application letter is essential for university graduates, especially in non-native English-speaking contexts. This study explores the implementation and outcomes of a socialization program designed to enhance the English correspondence skills of sixth-semester Management students at Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Ekonomi (STIE) Sultan Agung, Pematangsiantar, Indonesia. A total of 75–80 students were divided into three groups (Group A, Group B, and Group C) and participated in a series of interactive workshops focused on the structure, language, and personalization of English application letters. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through observations, document analysis of student letters, reflection essays, and post-program questionnaires. The results revealed significant improvements in students’ understanding of letter format, grammar usage, and the ability to tailor content to specific job advertisements. Peer review and collaborative learning played a crucial role in increasing student engagement and confidence in using English professionally. The discussion highlights the importance of genre-based instruction and social learning in developing employability-oriented communication skills. The findings emphasize the need for higher education institutions to embed practical, job-focused English training into their curriculum to better prepare students for real-world career demands. This study concludes that structured socialization programs can effectively equip students with the skills and confidence needed to construct impactful application letters, thereby enhancing their readiness for the job market. With the right support, students can take ownership of their career development, starting with how they present themselves on paper.

Abstract

Peumulia Jamee's dance service activity at SDN 1 Bireun was carried out to introduce traditional Acehnese arts to elementary school students as well as instill character values through cultural arts. The program uses a participatory approach and qualitative methods by involving students in grades V and VI, accompanying teachers, and principals as partners. The implementation of activities includes the preparation stage of dance materials, routine exercises twice a week, performance simulations, and final evaluation. Data were obtained through observation, interviews, documentation, and pre- and post-implementation questionnaires. The results of the service showed a significant improvement in students' dance skills, an understanding of Peumulia Jamee's philosophical values, and confidence in displaying traditional arts in public. Students also show positive behavioral changes in school that reflect the internalization of cultural values. Factors supporting the success of this program include student enthusiasm, teacher and parent support, and adaptation of training methods. This program proves that traditional arts can be an effective means for cultural preservation, character education, and the strengthening of local identity at the elementary school level.

Abstract

Predicting carbon dioxide (CO₂) emissions from vehicles is a crucial effort in mitigating the environmental impact of the transportation sector. This study compares the performance of two boosting models, XGBoost and Gradient Boosting, in predicting vehicle CO₂ emissions. The dataset includes various technical features of vehicles such as engine size, fuel consumption, and transmission type. Data preprocessing steps involved normalizing and encoding categorical features to ensure data readiness. XGBoost and Gradient Boosting models were implemented with an 80:20 data split for training and testing. Model performance was evaluated using metrics such as Mean Absolute Error (MAE), Mean Squared Error (MSE), Root Mean Squared Error (RMSE), and R-squared (R²). The results indicate that Gradient Boosting slightly outperformed XGBoost with MAE of 2.092, MSE of 14.414, RMSE of 3.796, and R² of 0.9958, compared to XGBoost which achieved MAE of 2.098, MSE of 14.697, RMSE of 3.833, and R² of 0.9957. Both models demonstrated excellent performance, with Gradient Boosting being more accurate in predicting CO₂ emissions. These findings provide significant insights for the development of environmental policies and the design of more eco-friendly vehicles.
