Abstract

Employee performance at primary healthcare centers is essential for effective service delivery, yet health workers frequently face burnout due to high patient loads and limited staffing. This study examined the effect of burnout on employee performance, with work engagement as a mediating variable, among employees of Puskesmas Buhit, Samosir Regency. Using a quantitative correlational design with total sampling, 41 employees participated. Data were collected through Likert-scale instruments measuring performance, work engagement, and burnout, and analyzed with mediation analysis (bootstrap, 5,000 resamples) in JASP. Results showed burnout had a strong negative direct effect on performance (β = -0.792, p < 0.001) and on work engagement (β = -0.235, p = 0.005). However, work engagement did not significantly affect performance (β = 0.127, p = 0.399) and did not mediate the burnout-performance relationship (indirect effect β = -0.030, p = 0.419). Burnout thus affects performance directly, without engagement functioning as a psychological bridge. These findings suggest structural, resource-based interventions are more relevant than motivational approaches in this bureaucratic healthcare context.

Abstract

This study aims to understand how Hajj pilgrim services are managed at the Tegal Regency Ministry of Hajj and Umrah Office and to identify the factors that facilitate or hinder this service process. The study was conducted due to several issues regarding Hajj pilgrim services at the office. These issues include discrepancies in the registration process—such as inconsistencies between supporting documents and primary documents—and instances where elderly pilgrims lacked the necessary supporting documents for registration. Another challenge is the pilgrims' limited understanding of Hajj guidance materials, stemming from differences in age, economic status, and educational background, which makes it difficult for them to grasp the guidance provided. Consequently, staff at the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah Office are expected to provide services that are improved, streamlined, clear, and easy to understand. Furthermore, technical issues—such as unstable internet connections and frequent disruptions to the Integrated Hajj Computerized System (SISKOHAT)—slow down service delivery, leading to public perception of sluggish service. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through interviews, document analysis, and observation. The results indicate that Hajj service management at the Tegal Regency Ministry of Hajj and Umrah Office involves stages such as planning, organizing, implementation, and supervision. Services provided include Hajj registration, cancellation, applications for elderly pilgrims, reunification of separated *mahram* (kinship) groups, Hajj ritual guidance (*manasik*), group allocation, and pilgrim protection services. Factors hindering service delivery are mitigated by the presence of supporting factors that facilitate services for prospective Hajj pilgrims.

Abstract

This study aims to describe teachers' strategies for fostering students' scientific attitude through environment-based science learning and to reveal the supporting and inhibiting factors in elementary schools. A qualitative case study was conducted at Bagan Kota 001 and Bangko 003 Elementary Schools, Rokan Hilir Regency, Riau. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldana. Trustworthiness was established through source and technique triangulation. The findings show that teachers implemented strategies such as environmental utilization, observation, discussion, facilitation, guidance, and reflection, yet these had not optimally fostered scientific attitude. Curiosity and open-mindedness began to develop, while thoroughness, objectivity, honesty, and especially skepticism remained limited due to teacher-centered learning and underdeveloped inquiry.

Abstract

The rapid development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has created new opportunities for improving educational management and supporting differentiated learning within the Merdeka Curriculum. This study aims to analyze the implementation of the AI-based Merdeka Curriculum at SD Negeri Ungaran 05, West Ungaran District, Semarang Regency, focusing on four management functions: planning, organizing, actuating, and controlling. This study employed a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, moderate participant observation, documentation, and field notes involving the principal, teachers representing Phases A, B, and C, the school information technology administrator, and students as supporting informants. Data were analyzed interactively through data condensation, data display, conclusion drawing, and verification. The findings indicate that AI has been integrated into school programs, teacher professional development, digital infrastructure management, instructional planning, differentiated learning, project-based activities, and assessment. AI supports teachers in developing instructional materials, diversifying learning content, analyzing student responses, and providing more adaptive learning experiences. However, several challenges were identified, including disparities in teachers’ digital competence, AI hallucinations, limited access to premium features, students’ digital fatigue, and concerns regarding ethics and academic integrity. The school addressed these challenges through professional development, peer mentoring, communities of practice, information verification, ethical guidelines, and controlled technology use. The study concludes that effective AI integration depends on systematic educational management while maintaining teachers’ pedagogical authority and positioning AI as a pedagogical assistant and decision-support tool.

Abstract

The rapid growth of digital assets has triggered legal conflicts between post-mortem privacy rights and the proprietary rights of heirs. This study aims to analyze the legal certainty of personal data protection after death concerning heirs’ access to social media accounts in Indonesia by comparing it with the legal systems of Germany and France. This study employs normative legal research using statutory, comparative, and conceptual approaches. The study examines primary, secondary, and tertiary legal materials relevant to personal data protection, digital assets, and inheritance law. The findings reveal legal gaps and regulatory disharmony between Indonesia’s Personal Data Protection Law and the Civil Code. The Personal Data Protection Law does not explicitly regulate the status of personal data after death or heirs’ authority to access digital accounts, while the Civil Code does not specifically recognize digital assets as objects of inheritance. Germany applies the principle of universal succession, whereas France provides mechanisms for determining the management of digital data after death. This study concludes that Indonesia requires legal reconstruction to regulate the status of digital assets, heirs’ authority, and limitations necessary to protect post-mortem privacy. The novelty of this study lies in proposing a legal harmonization model integrating Germany’s universal succession principle and France’s digital directives into the Indonesian legal system.

Abstract

Teacher motivation is a critical factor in sustaining teachers’ professional commitment and engagement in educational practices. This study examines the effects of work-life balance, teacher well-being, and school culture on teacher motivation among junior high school teachers in Kedungwuni District, Pekalongan Regency, Indonesia. A quantitative approach with an ex post facto design was employed. The study involved 121 teachers selected from a population of 177 using proportional simple random sampling. Data were collected through a five-point Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results revealed that work-life balance, teacher well-being, and school culture simultaneously had a significant effect on teacher motivation (F = 60.525, p < .001), explaining 60.8% of its variance (R² = .608). Partially, work-life balance had a significant negative effect on teacher motivation (β = −.166, p = .027), whereas teacher well-being showed a positive but statistically insignificant effect (β = .025, p = .793). School culture emerged as the strongest positive predictor of teacher motivation (β = .852, p < .001). These findings indicate that teacher motivation is shaped by a complex interplay of personal, psychological, and organizational factors, with school culture playing a particularly prominent role. Therefore, strengthening a supportive, collaborative, and professionally oriented school culture is essential for fostering sustainable teacher motivation while maintaining teachers’ work-life balance and well-being.

Abstract

Digital transformation and changing work arrangements require young workers to adapt physically, psychologically, professionally, and relationally. This study aimed to map Generation Z adaptation in Indonesian insurance companies using the four modes of the Roy Adaptation Model. A quantitative survey design was employed. Purposive sampling involved 27 respondents aged 18–25 years who worked or interned in 18 insurance and reinsurance companies. The instrument consisted of 20 five-point Likert-scale statements, with five items representing each mode: physiological, self-concept, role function, and interdependence. Data analysis included frequency distributions, mean (M), standard deviation (SD), median, corrected item-total correlation, and Cronbach’s alpha. Overall adaptation was categorized as high (M=3.90; SD=0.41; n=26). Interdependence obtained the highest score (M=4.14; SD=0.52), followed by self-concept (M=4.07; SD=0.47), role function (M=3.98; SD=0.53), and physiological adaptation (M=3.45; SD=0.63). Overall reliability was adequate for exploratory research (α=0.775; n=17), while reliability across individual modes remained moderate (α=0.554–0.684). The findings indicate that collaboration, technological confidence, and career orientation were relatively strong, whereas fatigue from schedule changes, adequate rest, and professional role transitions require greater attention. This study extends the application of the Roy Adaptation Model beyond clinical contexts and provides practical priorities for young talent management in the insurance industry.

Abstract

Digital transformation in higher education has encouraged the use of web-based learning media that can integrate teaching materials, learning activities, and evaluation in a single accessible platform. This study aimed to develop PhytoAction, a Wix-based website employing the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model integrated with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 13: Climate Action, for the Plant Physiology course. The research followed the Lee and Owens (2004) five-stage development model consisting of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. Data were collected through validation sheets completed by material experts, media experts, and education practitioners, as well as student response questionnaires during one-to-one, small-group, and field trials. Results showed that the website obtained a "very valid" category from material experts (96.22% before revision, improving to 100% after revision), media experts (92.75% before revision, improving to 96% after revision), and practitioners (97.38%). Practicality trials also indicated a "very practical" category, with average scores of 91.52% (one-to-one trial), 90.06% (small-group trial), and 87.03% (field trial). These findings suggest that PhytoAction is a valid and practical learning medium that can support more contextual, flexible, and student-centered learning in the Plant Physiology course.

Abstract

This study explores how students’ disciplinary character is developed through habituation and school culture beyond formal rule enforcement at an elementary school in Semarang, Indonesia. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, passive participatory observation, and document analysis involving school principals, teachers, students, and parents. Data were analyzed through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, with credibility established through source and method triangulation. The findings show that school rules serve as an initial behavioral framework, while disciplinary character develops through role modeling, repeated routines, positive reinforcement, guidance, and consistent school-wide practices. Habituation plays a central role in transforming externally directed behaviors into stable disciplinary habits. Consistent reinforcement by school members strengthens a shared culture of discipline and supports character internalization. Family involvement also extends disciplinary practices beyond school, although differences in parenting practices and student self-regulation may affect continuity. The study conceptualizes disciplinary character development as an interconnected process: school rules → role modeling → repeated practice → habituation → reinforcement → internalization → school culture. Sustainable discipline therefore requires an educational ecosystem that transforms rules into routines, routines into habits, and habits into a shared school culture.

Abstract

Office networks face risks of unauthorized access, uncontrolled bandwidth use, device disruption, and delayed incident identification, while relevant operational data are available in Ruijie Cloud logs and dashboards. This study aims to identify office-network security risk levels and evaluate the adequacy of controls implemented through Ruijie devices and cloud services. A quantitative descriptive case-study approach is used, based on log analysis, monitoring data, security configurations, and a risk matrix combining likelihood and impact. Results are presented through event frequencies, traffic trends, device status, risk levels, and control-implementation status. The analysis prioritizes risks associated with user access, device availability, abnormal network use, configuration changes, and incident response. Controls including authentication, access restriction, segmentation, monitoring, alarm notification, traffic limitation, and logging are evaluated using verifiable system evidence. The study concludes that integrating Ruijie Cloud logs into an identification–assessment–mitigation–monitoring cycle can strengthen objective and continuous decision-making for office-network security.
