Abstract

Operator performance plays a critical role in supporting productivity and occupational safety in the mining industry, which is characterized by high operational risks. However, variations in operator performance remain a managerial challenge, particularly regarding the effectiveness of reward and punishment systems. This study aims to examine the effects of rewards and punishments on operator performance in a mining service company. The Research employed a quantitative, causal Research design. Data were collected through a structured questionnaire distributed to 150 heavy equipment operators, selected purposively from a total population of 370. The data were analyzed using multiple linear regression analysis to assess both partial and simultaneous effects of reward and punishment on operator performance. The findings indicate that rewards have a positive and significant Influence on operator performance, suggesting that fair, performance-based reward systems enhance motivation and work effectiveness. Punishment also shows a positive and significant effect, indicating that proportional and consistent sanctions contribute to improved work discipline and compliance with operational procedures. Furthermore, reward and punishment jointly explain a substantial proportion of the variation in operator performance. These results highlight the importance of balancing motivational incentives and behavioral control mechanisms in human resource management practices. The study concludes that well-designed reward and punishment systems are essential for achieving sustainable improvements in operator performance, particularly in high-risk industrial environments such as mining operations.

Abstract

This study aimed to evaluate the effect of different formulations on the sensory characteristics, consumer acceptance, physical properties, and chemical composition of Corn Lava Jasu Pearls. An experimental method was applied using two formulations, namely F0 and F1. Sensory evaluation was conducted by trained panelists (three experts) to assess aroma, taste, and texture attributes, while the hedonic test was performed by untrained panelists (80 participants) to evaluate product acceptability. Physical analysis focused on color characteristics, and chemical analysis included nutritional composition assessment. Sensory data from trained panelists were analyzed using one-way ANOVA, whereas hedonic data were analyzed using the Mann–Whitney test. The results showed that formulation differences did not significantly affect sensory attributes evaluated by trained panelists (p > 0.05). However, the hedonic test indicated significant differences in consumer preference between formulations. In addition, formulation variations influenced color characteristics and chemical composition, with formulation F1 showing advantages in terms of nutritional value. development of Corn Lava Jasu Pearls should consider a balance between nutritional enhancement and consumer acceptance.

Abstract

The phenomenon of toxic communication in adolescents' digital interactions, such as cyberbullying, hate speech, and covert verbal aggression is a serious challenge to strengthening character education in the digital era. This study aims to analyze the process of internalizing character values in the midst of the rampant toxic communication in adolescents in the peri-urban area of Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra, which borders the city of Medan. The research uses a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with 24 junior high and high school adolescents, 6 teachers, and 5 parents, complemented by digital interaction observation and targeted group discussions (FGD). The analysis was carried out using thematic analysis with stages of data reduction, categorization, and reflective interpretation. The results showed that toxic communication was normalized through a culture of sarcastic humor, peer pressure, and the reproduction of communication patterns from social media. However, the internalization of character values, including empathy, digital responsibility, respect, and self-control is formed through three main mechanisms: dialogical family mediation, school-based character education integration, and the practice of collective reflection between peers. Consistency of strengthening values in the family and school environment has been shown to increase critical awareness and the ability to regulate adolescents' emotions in responding to toxic communication. This research contributes to the development of the study of digital character education by placing the internalization of values as a social process influenced by the structure of relationships and local digital culture, as well as emphasizing the importance of a cross-environmental collaborative approach in building ethical and resilient digital citizenship.

Abstract

Exclusive breastfeeding can reduce infant mortality due to infection by up to 88%. Mothers' knowledge and attitudes are related to exclusive breastfeeding practices, and videos can be an effective medium for improving mothers' knowledge, attitudes, and practices. This study aims to determine the effect of video-based messages on mothers' knowledge, attitudes, and practices related to exclusive breastfeeding, as well as the dominant factors that influence these practices. The study design was a quasi-experimental pretest-posttest design. The research subjects were mothers with infants aged 0-5 months in the working area of the Bantargebang Community Health Center. Data collection was conducted through questionnaires (pretest and posttest), interviews (preliminary study and assessment), observation of practices, and video screening intervention. Data analysis used paired sample t-tests and Wilcoxon tests. There was a significant increase in knowledge (p=0.000, paired sample t- test), attitude (p=0.001, Wilcoxon test), and practice (p=0.000, Wilcoxon test) in the intervention group. Attitude was identified as the dominant factor influencing exclusive breastfeeding practices. Video messages through video media effectively enhance mothers' knowledge, attitudes, and exclusive breastfeeding practices. Attitude emerged as the most influential factor on practice after controlling for knowledge.

Abstract

Abstract

Mediation is an important instrument in the Indonesian judicial system, particularly in Religious Courts, as an effort to resolve disputes in line with the principles of simple, fast, and low-cost justice, reinforced by PERMA Number 1 of 2016 and updated by PERMA Number 3 of 2022, which accommodates electronic mediation in response to technological developments and post-pandemic community needs. This study aims to analyze the legal basis and effectiveness of mediation in Religious Courts by comparing the provisions in both regulations, particularly in the settlement of divorce and child support cases. The method used is normative juridical with a qualitative approach through a literature study of primary, secondary, and tertiary legal materials analyzed descriptively and qualitatively. The results of the study show that mediation has a strong legal basis and plays a role in improving efficiency and access to justice, particularly through the application of electronic mediation. However, its success rate is still influenced by the low level of good faith among the parties, the limited number of certified mediators, the dominant culture of litigation, and the readiness of technological infrastructure. Therefore, it can be concluded that optimizing mediation in Religious Courts requires improving the competence of mediators, strengthening technological facilities and infrastructure, and conducting ongoing outreach so that mediation truly becomes an effective, fair, and humane means of dispute resolution.

Abstract

This study analyzes the synergy between the Tax Service Office (KPP) and local governments in improving tax compliance among Village Financial Affairs Officers, who act as withholding agents for village expenditures. Despite a structured and predictable village budgeting system, tax noncompliance persists, contributing to the tax gap through inaccurate withholding, delayed remittance, and incomplete reporting. Using a qualitative approach—literature review, documentation, and semi- structured interviews—this research identifies limited competence, low fiscal literacy, and weak administrative capacity as key causes of noncompliance. The study finds that coordinated reconciliation programs, data sharing, and MoUs between KPP and local governments significantly improve tax accuracy. Evidence from Regency X shows increased tax payments and higher revenue-sharing allocations following reconciliation. The research recommends strengthening coordination, expanding MoU implementation, enhancing tax education for village officers, and introducing mandatory tax training or certification for future Village Financial Affairs Officers.
