Abstract

Center for Scientific Documentation and Information of Indonesian Institute of Sciences has already created a platform system which is intended to facilitate people in accessing and obtaining the scientific information. The institution promotes platform services which enable people to easily find the scientific information required for their research paper. This study aims at analyzing the corporate promotional communication strategies. Researchers use eight effective promotional communication elements which consist of identifying the targeted audience, determining the communication objectives, designing the messages, selecting the channels, budgeting, deciding promotional tools, measuring the results, managing and coordinating the integrated marketing communications. This research is a single case study which data are collected from in-depth interviews, and documentation studies. The results show that the promotional communication strategies have already fulfilled seven of eight effective promotion communication elements although it is still not optimal yet. The element which has not been fulfilled is on measuring the promotional results. Cost budgeting is one element which also requires to be optimized more. It would be better if the institution uses objective and task method to clearly define the specific objectives and determine the required tasks to perform in achieving those objectives as well as to estimate costs in performing those tasks. By implementing these methods, it is expected that the short-term and long-term goals may be clearly defined that the goals of the promotional activities may be achieved better. In addition, the team formation focusing on the promotional activities may also become a consideration for the effectively and efficiently integrated marketing and promotional communication.

Abstract

Since health issues in Indonesia are seen as a common problem, scientific collaboration is growing and continuous. To examine collaboration indicators, study used bibliometric method based on research products published in ScienceDirect journal 2006-2015. The aims of this study are to detect level, index, sketch, and collaboration growth, including collaborators of national researchers. The results show that collaboration to overcome national health problems received high attention or 90% of the 146 generated research. Other collaboration levels exceeding limits of balance even though the research products, researchers, institutions, and countries often experience reduced growth. From number of research collaborations, Indonesia handles the largest number (63, 47.73%) and majority of them are multi-state. This best achievement is not separated on role of 40 national institutions and four of them highlighted the college and government. The geography is mostly located on the island of Java and the collaboration built in national institutions is also assisted by 28 countries. Collaborators are generally Asian and familiar to national institutions. National researchers should continue to raise health issues as cooperative baits with collaborators. So the goal to overcome the case and add international health publications can be realized.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the satisfaction of users of the quality of service in the Balai Arkeologi Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta library using the LibQUAL+TM, in this method there are four indicators namely affect service, library as place, personal control, and information access. The research method used in this study is to use quantitative methods. The population in this study is the visitors who come to the library from April to December 2018. The sample used in this study amounted to 50 respondents. Gap analysis shows that the overall dimensions of LibQUAL+TM are negative. So there is a need for corrective actions to meet the user’s expectations. By using importance-performance analysis, it was found that subvariable personal control on modern equipment items (items 20) had a gap of -0.76. The user assumed that the photocopy machine facilities and infrastructure were needed by the user, but in fact the photo copy service was not provided by the library. Whereas the value of the User Satisfaction Index at the Balai Arkeologi Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta library shows a number of 87.43%, which indicates the user satisfaction index is satisfied with the performance of library services.

Abstract

Studies on the pattern of authorship and the level of research collaboration have been done by many scientific journals, but the study on the journal Treubia has never been done. The Journal Treubia is an english language journal of the Indo-Australian animal taxonomy. Established in 1919 by the director of Plantetuin Lands (now botanical garden) named Dr. M. Treub, for the first time this journal discussed only on plant pests. Now, Treubia is an English-language scietific journal focus on biosystematic, ecological, and conservation aspects of terrestrial and aquatic fauna in the Indo-Australian region. This aim of this study is to determine the pattern of the authorship and the level of collaborative research in the journal Treubia during period 2006-2016. The method used in this study is descriptive by using the data from journal article of Treubia, Research Center for Biology-Indonesian Institute of Sciences. Collection and processing data were conducted in March 2017. The results show that during the period 2006-2016, journal Treubia produced 50 articles. The most authors are male with 91 (71.1%) of the 128 authors. Furthermore, by country, Indonesia is the biggest contributor with 86 authors (67.19%) and the lowest is Australia, Singapore, and Vietnam each of them with 1 author (0.78%). The document type most highly cited is the journals which has been cited in 1,307 papers, and then newsletter and map which have been cited in 1 paper. The author's collaboration rate is 0.7 with the author's index per article is 2.56. Both of numeral rate and index are the positive criterion for assessing the higher quality of published papers.
