Abstract

The study focuses on the empowerment of Pakusari TPA educational tourism in Jember Regency, Indonesia. Waste management is a pressing issue worldwide, and the waste reduction process plays a crucial role in minimizing the amount of waste reaching the final disposal site. The research adopts a qualitative approach, utilizing survey techniques, interviews, field observations, and literature reviews to gather data. The findings reveal that the establishment of the Pakusari TPA educational tour was prompted by the increasing amount of waste and the need to educate the public about waste processing. The tour location, adjacent to the landfill, showcases creative waste conversions, such as statues made from discarded materials. Interviews with the TPA management indicate positive responses from local residents, schools sending students for educational visits, and a reduction in daily waste volume. The Pakusari TPA serves as an educational tourist attraction, promoting waste management practices and recycling initiatives. Through recycling, organic waste is converted into methane gas and animal feed, while inorganic waste is repurposed for pavement and artistic displays. Overall, the study highlights the benefits of the Pakusari TPA educational tourism in raising awareness, inspiring waste reduction, and fostering environmental preservation.

Abstract

Savanna is a low-rainfall ecosystems. This habitat is frequently dominated by lush green grass. There is a savanna in Paseban Village, Kencong District, Jember Regency that is notable for nature tourism since it has an appealing and natural sense. The purpose of this study is to investigate the potential for ecotourism development in Paseban Savana, Jember, East Java. This study is qualitative in design. Interviews were utilized to acquire data. Locals and visitors are the source of information. This approach is designed to collect data on the many types of savanna utilization that are currently in use. In addition to interviews, this study included the documentation approach. The investigation discovered that this area was previously restricted to territory that was barren and parched, but that heavy continuous rain eventually turned this land green. Because of the natural splendor of the green savanna, an increasing number of visitors visit. Tourists typically visit to snap photographs. However, as the number of tourists increases, so does the garbage problem. Given that this savanna has recently grown increasingly busy with tourists, there is no management in place to enforce cleanliness and other rules. We suggest appointing management, providing trash cans, and shielding plant-containing areas from harm caused by visitors.

The Sigarar Utang Arabica coffee is a varietal of Arabica coffee that originated from the North Tapanuli region of the North Sumatra province. The purpose of this study is to see how variations in water-to-coffee powder ratios affect water content and caffeine content of Sigarar Utang Arabica instant coffee. This study's research design is a complete block design (CBD). Experiments were carried out at 95°C with three levels of coffee powder-to-water ratio: N1 (1:4)%, N2 (1:6)%, and N3 (1:8)%. Each treatment was repeated twice, for a total of six experimental units. According to the findings of this study, variations in the water-to-coffee powder ratio in Sigarar Utang coffee had a substantial impact on both moisture content and caffeine content.

Abstract

The Indonesian government has temporarily closed higher educational institutions across the country and changed the learning activity to distance learning to prevent further spread of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). Various universities, including the State Islamic Institute of Jember, try to adopt Moodle as a learning management system during this COVID-19 pandemics situation. This study aims to take TAM (technology acceptance model) as a basic and include prior experience, enjoyment, facilitating conditions, self-efficacy, and subjective norm as a new external variable in predicting students’ acceptance and use of Moodle. SPSS 25.0 was used for the quantitative analysis. Data collected were analyzed using descriptive statistics of Mean and Standard Deviation. Multiple regression analysis was conducted to test the hypothesis of structure model. A total of 217 college students were involved in this study. These students had been using Moodle for at least six months. The results of this study confirm the original TAM’s findings and reveal that the Moodle was well accepted. Prior experience, enjoyment, facilitating conditions, self-efficacy, and subjective norm had significantly positive impacts on students’ perception of usefulness and perception ease of use.

Abstract

The study's goal is to find a correlation between learning the excretory system material and the behavior of keeping a healthy lifestyle in class XI Science students at MAN 3 Jember. This research uses a non-experimental correlational quantitative approach. The population of this research was students of class XI IPA MAN 3 Jember, totaling 169 respondents. The samples taken were 118 respondents using the Simple Random Sampling technique. The data collection instruments used were tests on the variable understanding of the excretory system material and questionnaires with a Likert scale on the behavioral variable of maintaining a healthy life. Data analysis uses the product moment correlation test. Based on research data analysis, it shows that students' understanding of the excretory system material is categorized as moderate with a percentage of 84% and an average score of 12,3. Meanwhile, the behavior of maintaining a healthy life is in the medium category with a percentage of 59% and an average score of 27,5. The results of the product moment correlation analysis show that there is no relationship between understanding the excretory system material and the behavior of maintaining a healthy life in class XI Science students at MAN 3 Jember. The obtained significance value of 0.442 > 0.05, which means that Ha is rejected and H0 is accepted.

Abstract

In the context of education in Indonesia, particularly in schools, a prevalent problem persists wherein a significant number of students exhibit a lack of concentration towards their studies and instead engage in various extracurricular pursuits. The objective of this study is twofold: To determine the combined impact of emotional intelligence and learning styles on the biology learning outcomes; and to ascertain the individual effects of emotional intelligence and learning styles on the biology learning outcomes. This study employs a quantitative methodology utilizing survey research techniques conducted at SMA Negeri 4 Jember. The researcher employed Arikunto's sampling technique, which states that if the number of participants is fewer than 100, the entire population can be considered as the research sample. In this study, a sample of 60 pupils was taken. Data collecting methods employ surveys and documentation, while data analysis involves the utilization of multiple linear regression. The research findings indicate that the F count value of 11.532 is statistically higher than the F table value of 3.16. Therefore, it can be concluded that the combination of emotional intelligence and learning style has a significant impact on the biology learning outcomes of class XI MIPA students at SMA Negeri 4 Jember. Furthermore, the emotional intelligence (tcount 2,968 > ttable 1,672) and learning styles (tcount 2,849 > ttable 1,672) individually also has a direct influence on the biology learning outcomes of class XI MIPA students at SMA Negeri 4 Jember.
