Abstract

This research is based on the results of the researcher's observations about the low ability of children to listen. One of the causes of this condition is that teachers still do not provide enough stimulation of listening activities and language development learning is still dominated by the role of the teacher. As a result, the classroom atmosphere is monotonous, passive and boring. In line with this problem, efforts were made to improve the listening skills of early childhood through the method of playing whispering in chains. This study aims to determine the planning, implementation, and improvement through the methods used. This research was conducted using Classroom Action Research with a two-cycle improvement implementation procedure. The subjects of the study were 20 group A students, consisting of 5 boys and 15 girls with student characteristics who have different abilities and potentials. Based on the results of the study and the results of data analysis, it can be concluded that there was a significant increase in children's listening skills from 10% before the improvement was carried out in cycles 1 and 2, to 50% in cycle 1 and 95% in cycle 2, which means that through the method of playing whispering in chains, listening skills can be improved in group A at RA PUI Sindangwargi.

Abstract

Reading is important in children's development. This ability is very necessary for children's readiness to reach the next level of education. However, this is often a benchmark for parents to make their children good at reading even though the child is not ready to accept it. Based on the limitations of the problem that the researcher has stated above, the existing problem can be formulated as "How is the process of improving reading skills through the letter puzzle game method in Group B RA Ar Rohmah Dusun Lombung Suren Village, Ledokombo District which aims to improve reading skills through letter puzzle games in Group B RA Ar Rohmah Dusun Lombung Suren Village, Ledokombo District. The method used is in accordance with that carried out by the researcher, so the results of this study are that the average early reading skills of children get an average of "Good". This is evidenced by the increase that occurs at each meeting held. In cycle I, meetings 1-3 obtained an average overall score of 3.6 with the criteria of "Good" and achieved learning completeness of 72%. and achieved learning completeness of 90%. So it can be seen that the results of the study to improve early reading skills through the method of playing with word puzzle media successfully achieved 75% learning completion and increased optimally. The study was conducted with a classroom action research procedure, which went through four stages. The researcher carried out the stages one by one, namely planning, implementation, observation and reflection to obtain the desired data results in accordance with the learning completion criteria. However, in this study the increase produced was a quantitative increase while qualitatively obtained consistent results. Based on the description of the research results above, it can be concluded that the shortcomings that occurred in cycle I can be overcome through reflection carried out by the teacher, so that in cycle II there was an increase in both the process and the results of learning children's early reading skills.

Abstract

The low learning outcomes of students on the Sunan Gunung Jati material have been proven by the results of the pre-test on the Sunan Gunung Jati material from 14 students of class VI MIS Nurul Iman Pilomonu. Based on the results of the student pre-test, the classical completion value was obtained by 5 students or 35.7% who managed to achieve the KKM score. And students who have not achieved the classical completion target are 9 students or 64.2%. The KKM value is 75. Seeing this statement, it can be said that the problem above, the author is interested in researching and testing the extent to which the learning outcomes of SKI (History of Islamic Culture) on the Sunan Gunung Jati material through the problem based learning model. This research method uses the classroom action research method (Classroom Action Research). This research took place at MIS Nurul Iman Pilomonu. The subjects of this study were class VI students of MIS Nurul Iman Pilomonu in the 2023/2024 academic year. The number of class VI is 14 students. The data collection method in this study is the observation method, test method, interview and documentation. In the pre-cycle, the number of students who completed learning reached 5 students. The average value only reached 62.75, which means it is still below the KKM. In the pre-cycle, an observation score of 2.14 was produced, meaning that students who were active in learning only reached around 20-30%. In cycle I, the number of students who completed learning reached 9 students, the average value reached 74.5. This means that the problem based learning model is effectively used to improve student learning outcomes in the Sunan Gunung Jati material. In student observation activities, the teacher assesses that knowledge is experienced, learned, and discovered by students, students do something to understand the subject matter (building understanding), students communicate their own thoughts, students think reflectively and students can work in groups with other friends. In cycle II, the number of students who completed learning reached 14 students, the average value reached 81.5. This means that the problem based learning model is effectively used to improve student learning outcomes in the Sunan Gunung Jati material.
