Abstract

This research is motivated by the still dominant lecture method in learning Pancasila Education at the junior high school level, which causes low student involvement. As technology develops, multimedia can be a solution to increase the effectiveness of learning. This study aims to explore students' perception of the use of multimedia in learning Pancasila Education at SMPN 16 Surabaya. The method used is qualitative research with a descriptive approach. The sample consisted of 20 students in class 8B who were selected using convenience sampling. Data was collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study show that the use of PowerPoint, learning videos, regional song videos, and digital and printed LKPD increases student engagement and understanding. The Cognitive Theory of Multimedia Learning supports these findings, which suggests that the combination of visual and audio elements can improve students' comprehension. However, internet access constraints in the digital LKPD are still a challenge. In conclusion, multimedia increases the effectiveness of Pancasila Education learning. However, it is necessary to improve infrastructure and teacher training so that the use of multimedia is more optimal and inclusive for students.

Abstract

Environmental degradation in Indonesia, including deforestation, plastic pollution, and biodiversity loss, poses serious threats to ecosystems and human well-being. Integrating environmental conservation into biology learning is crucial to fostering students' awareness and responsible behavior toward environmental issues. This study employs a qualitative approach through literature review and curriculum analysis to examine the integration of conservation themes in biology education. Findings suggest that project-based and contextual learning effectively enhance students' understanding and engagement with real environmental challenges. The use of digital tools further supports interactive learning experiences, promoting critical thinking and problem-solving skills. However, challenges such as limited resources and insufficient teacher training hinder effective implementation. Strengthening teacher capacity, improving curriculum design, and fostering collaboration among schools, government, and environmental organizations are essential to enhancing environmental education. This study underscores the potential of biology learning as a transformative tool in shaping a generation that is not only academically proficient but also environmentally conscious and proactive in sustainability efforts.

Abstract

Student worksheets (LKPD) serve as learning resources that contain a series of activities and exercises designed to facilitate and enhance students' understanding of learning materials. This study focuses on designing and validating problem-based learning (PBL) student worksheets for Pancasila and Civic Education (PPKn) to support the learning process of seventh-grade students at SMP IT Bina Insan Batang Kuis. The research follows the Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE model, which consists of five stages: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. Data collection was conducted using questionnaires, and validation was carried out by three experts from the postgraduate program at Universitas Negeri Medan. The study reached the development phase, in which the feasibility of the designed LKPD was evaluated by expert validators. The validation results indicate that the content expert rated the LKPD at 90.75% (highly feasible), the language expert at 92.50% (highly feasible), and the learning design expert at 95.50% (highly feasible). These findings suggest that the developed PBL-based student worksheets are highly valid and suitable for use in Pancasila and Civic Education learning for junior high school students.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the influence of socio-economic status and parental education level on the motivation of Class XII students at Yaspib Bontolempangan High School to continue their studies at university. In this study, socio-economic status was measured based on parents' employment and income, while parents' education level was seen from the last level of education completed. The research method used is a quantitative method by collecting data through direct observation at schools, distributing questionnaires to students, and documentation. Data analysis was carried out using multiple linear regression to determine the relationship between these variables and students' motivation to continue their education to the next level. The research results indicate that although socio-economic status and the level of parents' education have an impact on students' motivation to continue their studies in several other studies, this research found the opposite. It shows that there is no significant influence of socio-economic status and parents' education level on students' motivation to pursue higher education, either partially or in relation to each variable. This study suggests that other factors may have a greater influence on the decision of 12th-grade students at Yaspib Bontolempangan High School to continue their studies at a university.

Abstract

The Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) policy is a strategic initiative by the Indonesian government to strengthen the synergy between higher education and primary-secondary education. One of its flagship programs is *Kampus Mengajar* (Teaching Campus), which aims to improve students’ basic literacy, particularly in underdeveloped and remote schools. However, preliminary observations suggest that the implementation of this program in South Aceh still faces significant challenges. Key issues include inadequate planning in teaching and learning, insufficient preparation of human resources, and weak coordination among universities, schools, and local education authorities. Moreover, participating students often lack the required competencies, their activities are not fully aligned with school needs, and teachers are not yet equipped with the skills to integrate literacy into classroom instruction. This study seeks to explore the challenges and opportunities for enhancing basic literacy in junior high schools through the Teaching campus program. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed, using in-depth interviews, focus group discussions (FGDs) with multiple stakeholders, and document analysis. The findings reveal that although the program holds considerable potential as an alternative strategy for improving basic literacy in secondary education, its implementation in South Aceh has not been optimal. Factors contributing to this include the limited experience and readiness of student-teachers, lack of intensive supervision by university mentors, and insufficient training for school teachers in applying literacy-based learning. Strengthening planning, human resource development, and program alignment between universities, schools, and local governments is essential to achieving the program’s intended outcomes.

Abstract

The rapid development of financial technology in today's digital era has brought significant changes to Indonesian society, including residents of Sukosari Village, Kunir Sub-district, Lumajang Regency, in how they conduct financial transactions. However, a lack of financial literacy has led to increasingly harmful consequences over time. This study aims to analyze how family-based economic education can be implemented to counteract the negative impacts of financial technology. This qualitative research employs a phenomenological approach, with 25 local residents as informants. The findings reveal that impulsive use of online loan fintech is driven by curiosity, the urge to experiment, and the appeal of convenient technology in meeting both needs and wants. Awareness of the risks typically arises only after the negative consequences have become significant. Family economic education plays a crucial role in curbing excessive use of online loan applications by fostering financial discipline through modeling and daily financial habits. However, this education can be undermined by internal individual factors, such as strong curiosity and a tendency to experiment without sufficient economic understanding.

Abstract

Kata Kunci : Strukturisasi kekuasaan, kekerasan simbolik, Pierre Bourdieu, The Poor Relation's Story, Charles Dickens.
