Abstract

Bumi Keselamatan Margarita Orphanage is one of the orphanages located in . Like other orphanages, the orphanage, abbreviated as BKM, has a significant social impact in Simalungun Regency. One of its impacts is providing a meaningful life for children, nurturing their spirituality, and offering the best education for the residents of the orphanage. The aim of this research is to enrich the historiography of the role of orphanages and churches in empowering the surrounding communities, so that the historical narrative about orphanages becomes more complete and enhances the image of orphanages as institutions that also liberate people. The method used is the historical method, which consists of heuristics, criticism or verification, interpretation, and finally historiography. The results show that Bumi Keselamatan Margarita Orphanage has had a considerable impact around the Simalungun Regency, which are its main areas. They have done many things, such as providing shelter for children from early childhood to teenagers, empowering children by offering education and preparing them for industrial skills, and providing scholarships to those in need. As a result, this orphanage still remains a reliable place for abandoned children to receive proper care when their parents are no longer around, helping them strengthen one another and grow their spiritually, so they can become kind and character-driven individuals in the future, even though the figure of their mother and father is no longer present to their lives.

Abstract

Teknologi yang terus berkembang menuntut peningkatan mutu dalam dunia pendidikan, mencakup masukan, proses, keluaran, hingga dampak. Total Quality Management (TQM) menjadi metode strategis untuk meningkatkan mutu pendidikan melalui perbaikan berkelanjutan dan pemecahan masalah secara terorganisasi. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis alat dan teknik pemecahan masalah yang relevan dalam konteks TQM, seperti brainstorming, diagram tulang ikan, diagram Pareto, analisis keadaan lapangan, dan lainnya, serta aplikasinya dalam dunia pendidikan. Artikel ini menggunakan metode studi pustaka dengan mengumpulkan dan menganalisis literatur sesuai dengan topik kajian. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan alat dan teknik tersebut dapat meningkatkan efisiensi, efektivitas, dan kepuasan pelanggan pendidikan. Artikel ini memberikan wawasan mendalam tentang implementasi TQM untuk menjawab tantangan mutu pendidikan secara holistik.

Abstract

Indonesia's documentary filmmaking industry was undergoing a transformative phase, driven by a resurgence of public interest and the expanding reach of Over-the-Top (OTT) platforms. This study explored the potential of Indonesian documentaries to thrive in the OTT ecosystem, considering the industry's recent growth, including the production of 168 films in 2020, and increasing international recognition. The success of platforms such as Australia's iWonder underscored the viability of dedicated streaming services for documentary content, presenting a model that could inspire similar initiatives in Indonesia. This research highlighted the convergence of the growing demand for authentic, culturally rich narratives and the accessibility offered by OTT platforms. It analyzed the opportunities for Indonesian filmmakers to expand their audience reach, both domestically and globally, by leveraging these platforms. Furthermore, the study identified the potential for specialized documentary platforms to foster a community of viewers enthusiastic about real-life narratives and societal issues. The findings emphasized the need for continued research to understand audience preferences and support the development of innovative distribution models for Indonesian documentaries on OTT platforms. By capitalizing on the rapid growth of digital streaming and public interest in documentaries, Indonesia could enhance the visibility and impact of its documentary genre, contributing to cultural enrichment, education, and meaningful societal discourse.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji konsep populisme kiri dalam kritik terhadap demokrasi liberal berdasarkan pemikiran Chantal Mouffe dan Ernesto Laclau. Demokrasi liberal sering dianggap mengalami krisis legitimasi akibat ketimpangan sosial, politik, dan ekonomi. Mouffe dan Laclau menawarkan populisme kiri sebagai alternatif untuk menghidupkan kembali demokrasi dengan mendekatkan politik kepada rakyat. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan studi pustaka model sistematis-reflektif untuk mengidentifikasi pemikiran  kedua tokoh. Hasil penelitian ini adalah temuan terkait dengan memahami tantangan dan peluang populisme dalam merespons krisis demokrasi liberal.

Abstract

Penelitian ini berusaha mengkaji dan menganalisa siswa angkatan pasca pandemi COVID-19 yang mengalami degradasi etika ketika harus kembali ke pembalajaran tatap muka. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menggambarkan, menganalisis, memetakan, sekaligus memahami bagaimana dinamika siswa tersebut baik ketika belajar daring, maupun ketika kembali belajar tatap muka melalui analisis komprehensif yang dielaborasikan dengan pendekatan filsafat dari Martin Buber, Hubert Dreyfus, dan Maurice Merleau-Ponty. Data penelitian diperoleh dari wawancara dan observasi dari dua orang subjek siswa Sekolah Menengah Atas di Kota Bogor yang memiliki pengalaman pembelajaran daring ketika pandemi COVID-19 yang bersedia untuk diwawancara. Data wawancara dan observasi tersebut kemudian dianalisa secara mendalam dalam bentuk kerangka Logic Model of Problem. Hasil penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa perilaku yang dicap ’kurang beretika’ oleh siswa dipengaruhi  oleh penurunan kemampuan sosial, perasaan alienasi & tidak diperhatikan, penurunan tingkat motivasi & makna, penurunan tingkat kesejahteraan & kepuasan psikologis, dll. Faktor-faktor tersebut memengaruhi faktor lain dan memengaruhi masalah kesehatan yang diderita oleh subjek, seperti penurunan kemampuan interpersonal & psikososial, meningkatnya tingkat kecenderungan depresi, dan meningkatnya tingkat kecemasan & stress. Masalah kesehatan tersebut juga mengganggu kualitas hidup pelaku, diantaranya penurunan pengetahuan etika, penurunan pengetahuan & kesadaran batas-batas sosial, rasa empati sosial yang rendah, dan berimbas pada kemungkinan ketidakmatangan bersikap yang menimbulkan kesan ’kurang beretika’ bagi orang lain.

Abstract

Intersonic competence is important for analyzing the sounds produced by speakers. Not only in the realm of music and instruments, but this can also be analyzed for other utterances. One of the speeches that can be analyzed that the reseracher uses in this research is the delivery of da'wah ‘preaching’ by Sheikh Hamza Yusuf as a native English speaker with an American English accent. The researcher chooses one video of Sheikh Hamza Yusuf entitled The Quran from the instagram account in account name @cafe.ihsan who shares lots of da’wah ‘preaching’ videos from the Muslim scholars. PRAAT software is used to count and analyze the intonatin and the speed. This study aims to analyze the influences of using variative intonation, variative speed and rhythm, and the background of the accent and the dialect. Therefore, this article analyzes the three discussions of intersonic competence. The data shows the use of variative intonation by Sheikh Hamza Yusuf: fall, rise-fall, and fall-rise intonations are indicated in the result, variative speed and rhythm, and the background of accent and dialect influence the audiences’ understanding.

Abstract

Dari perspektif psikologi, khususnya psikologi lingkungan, fenomena kebanggaan warga terhadap kotanya menarik untuk dikaji karena menunjukkan kompleksitas interaksi antara manusia dengan lingkungan urbannya, yang melibatkan aspek kognitif, afektif, dan behavioral. Penelitian ini berfokus untuk mengkaji mekanisme dinamika emosional rasa bangga warga kota kepada kotanya, dan kaitannya city image dari kota tersebut melalui perspektif place attachment theory. Metode yang digunakan adalah Literature Review dengan pendekatan Narrative Review yang memungkinkan eksplorasi topik yang lebih luas serta fleksibilitas dalam menyintesis sumber-sumber referensi. Ruang lingkup penelitian mencakup Place attachment theory yang menyediakan kerangka konseptual untuk memahami bagaimana kebanggaan warga terhadap kotanya terbentuk dan berkembang melalui interaksi dinamis antara lima dimensi utama: attachments, placement, actors, social relationships, dan temporal. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pembentukan city pride merupakan proses yang kompleks dan multidimensional, diawali dengan adanya city image yang positif yang kemudian memicu proses place attachment melalui keterlibatan aspek afektif, kognitif, dan praktikal. Kepuasan warga yang timbul dari city image yang positif berperan sebagai katalis dalam meningkatkan keterikatan dengan kota, yang kemudian termanifestasi dalam bentuk city pride. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi teoretis dalam pemahaman hubungan antara city image, place attachment, dan city pride, serta implikasi praktis bagi pengembangan kebijakan urban dan strategi pembangunan kota yang berkelanjutan.

Abstract

This article explores the role of school committees in supporting educational programs at the elementary level through a literature review. Achieving educational goals requires active involvement from the community and stakeholders, especially parents as primary users of educational services. Their participation plays a crucial role in enhancing the quality of education and fostering a collaborative partnership with schools. Therefore, school committees should function as strategic partners in implementing school programs. The findings indicate that a strong partnership between schools and school committees contributes significantly to improving educational quality. Committees are actively involved in coordinating with schools in planning both academic and non-academic activities, including social and community programs. Their roles encompass providing input, support, supervision, and acting as a communication bridge between schools and parents. When the functions and partnerships of school committees are well-established, schools can effectively implement various programs aimed at improving educational outcomes. This collaboration helps schools achieve their vision and mission while also increasing parental satisfaction. Ultimately, the active role of school committees becomes a vital element in strengthening the quality of education at the elementary level.

Abstract

The daily life philosophy in Hinduism teaches simplicity and self-control as the foundation of spiritual life. Meanwhile, concept lascarya emphasizes the implementation of yajna based on sincerity and not luxury. This research aims to analyze how these two concepts are implemented in the implementation of yajna by Hindus, especially in the modern context which tends to be consumerist and materialistic. The method used is literature study and analysis techniques in collecting data. The research results show that the implementation of daily life and lascarya in yajna can strengthen the spiritual value of the yajna itself, preventing people from showing off behavior (pratista), as well as encouraging more inclusive participation from all levels of society.

Abstract

Pancasila Student Profile is a characteristic of the character and competencies that students are expected to achieve, which is based on the noble values of Pancasila. As in the circular letter from the governor of Bali regarding the implementation of flash pasraman in educational units, especially high schools/vocational schools in the province of Bali, to carry out flash pasraman activities as a forum for preserving cultural values and cultural traditions of the Hindu religion. The problem formulation is what is the role of Pasraman Kilat in strengthening the Pancasila Student Profile at SMA Negeri 1 Tembuku. Then the purpose of writing is to provide students with an understanding of strengthening the Pancasila Student Profile. The discussion is that the Pancasila student profile is a mandate of the Merdeka Curriculum which has elements namely: a) Faith, devotion to God Almighty, and noble character, b) global diversity, c) independence, d) critical thinking, e) working together and f) Creative. Furthermore, the Pasraman Kilat activity is a culture or tradition of the noble cultural heritage of the Hindu religion which must be maintained and implemented as part of preserving it.
