Abstract

This research is motivated by the reality of the behavior of students who lack empathy, respect for teachers and parents, and impolite behavior both in words and actions at Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 3 Jember (MAN 3 Jember). Interestingly, the researchers found an implicit virtue competition, students' respect for anyone, and a basic form of exemplary. This situation attracted researchers to examine the internalization of religious character through the exemplary method of teachers at MAN 3 Jember. This research is qualitative research with a case study approach. The data sources are collected through interviews, observation, and documentation with descriptive analysis. The credibility test tests the validity of the data through the triangulation of sources, methods, and theories. This study draws the conclusion that the internalization of religious character through the teacher's exemplary method at MAN 3 Jember is carried out in stages, namely: providing understanding, getting used to policies, creating a good environment and interaction, providing good starting from the teacher, and demonstrating a role model. These five processes cannot be separated from the integration of good speech, actions, and attitudes following religious law. Madrasa policy is a gateway to habituation so that the responsibility is fulfilled to form good character, forming generations of Muslims who are faithful, knowledgeable, and have good morals towards Allah SWT and others.

Abstract

The controversy surrounding Minister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology Regulation (Indonesian abbreviation: Permendikbudristek) No. 30 of 2021 on the Prevention and Handling of Sexual Violence (PHSV) in campus environment has become a heated topic of discussion at present. When the PHSV regulation was issued, some religious figures interpreted the phrase “without the victim’s consent” in Article 5 as having multiple meanings. This particular phrase sparked controversy among the public and religious figures who argued that it could be perceived as the government legalizing promiscuous behavior. Consequently, it divided people into two groups: those in favor of the PHSV regulation and those against it. To gauge public response to the PHSV regulation, this study was conducted as a benchmark for evaluating its implementation. The study employed SWOT analysis (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats) as a reference for data collection and examination. SWOT analysis considers both internal factors and external factors to determine the weight of each factor, leading to conclusions regarding the issues at hand. Based on the conducted analysis, the PHSV regulation received a positive response from the public, with people expressing their support for the regulation. The PHSV regulation possesses strengths and opportunities that make it feasible as an instrument to minimize instances of sexual violence occurring within campus environments.

Abstract

This article is based on academic concerns mentioning that the motivation for learning Islamic Education is low. It is supported by the findings of field research conducted by numerous researchers stating that Indonesia's Human Development Index remains low, especially when observed through the results of the Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) released by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) in 2018. According to the release, Indonesia's scores declined in all categories, with reading scores going from 397 to 371, mathematics from 386 to 379, and science from 403 to 396. One of the reasons for this decline is the students' low learning motivation due to the lack of diverse teaching methods. This article is the result of field research using a qualitative approach that was carried out at Miftahul Ulum Klakah Lumajang Junior High School. Field research focuses on the implementation of the lecture plus method and the addition of spiritual activities in the learning process. The results of the study stated that an increase in learning motivation could occur by providing a variety of plus models in lectures and other spiritual activities such as reading al-Asma al-Husna, giving ibrah and uswah from leaders and sharing experiences.
