Abstract

The development of information and communication technology in the digital era has brought about significant changes in people's lives, particularly in communication patterns, information dissemination, and social interaction. The presence of social media makes it easy for people to obtain information, build communication, expand social networks, and develop creativity without being limited by space and time. However, uncontrolled use of social media can lead to various negative impacts such as digital addiction, the spread of fake news (hoaxes), cyberbullying, and decreased productivity. This Community Service (PKM) activity was conducted by students of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Pamulang University, at SMA PGRI 2 Depok on May 21, 2026, with the theme "The Role of the Younger Generation in Managing Social Media Productively." This activity aimed to educate students about the positive, creative, productive, and responsible use of social media. The activity was implemented through material delivery, interactive discussions, digital literacy education, and a question-and-answer session regarding the use of social media in the digital age. The results of the activity demonstrated high student enthusiasm for the material presented. Participants gained an understanding of the importance of using social media as a learning tool, developing creativity, personal branding, and even digital business opportunities. Furthermore, students learned about social media ethics, personal data security, and the importance of filtering information before sharing it with others. Through this activity, it is hoped that the younger generation will be able to use social media more wisely, creatively, and productively, thus providing positive benefits for personal development and the surrounding environment.

Abstract

This Community Service (PKM) activity was held at SMA PGRI 2 Depok with the aim of providing education to students regarding the impact of social media use on social behavior and shifts in interpersonal interaction patterns in the digital era. The intense presence of social media in adolescents' lives often triggers a shift from face-to-face interaction to virtual interaction, which, if not managed wisely, can affect mental health, consumerist behavior, and the quality of real-world interpersonal communication. The activity used a qualitative Participatory Action Research approach delivered through polite, respectful language, comprising interactive lectures, focus group discussions (FGD), case studies on cyberbullying, FOMO, and phubbing, and screen-time tracking simulations. The results demonstrated a significant increase in students' understanding of the importance of limiting social media screen time, maintaining online communication ethics, and the formation of student digital ambassadors. Through this PKM activity, it is hoped that students of SMA PGRI 2 Depok can develop digital literacy skills and maintain balanced social interaction patterns to become an adaptive, smart, and positive-charactered younger generation in the digital era

Abstract

This study explores the role of digital literacy in developing human resource (HR) competencies independently through digital platforms in students and young entrepreneurs. Using a qualitative approach of a case study, the study involved 35 participants (25 vocational school students and 10 young entrepreneurs) at SMK Bintang Nusantara, South Tangerang for six months. Data was collected through in-depth interviews, focus group discussions, and direct observations, then analyzed using thematic analysis. The results showed that: (1) participants utilized various digital platforms (YouTube 96%, Telegram 71%, LinkedIn Learning 60%) with three learning patterns (reactive, proactive, and collaborative); (2) digital literacy plays a crucial role in content validation and curation through five strategies (credibility evaluation, cross-referencing, peer evaluation, practical testing, and continuous learning); (3) the main challenges include information overload (83%), validation difficulties (80%), transfer problems (72%), and lack of learning structure (68%); (4) digital-based HR learning results in a 64% increase in competence in students and a 70% increase in revenue in young entrepreneurs, with a proactive and collaborative learning model showing the greatest impact (75-80% improvement rate). This research makes a significant contribution by presenting a cost-effective and applicable digital-based independent learning model for MSMEs, startups, and educational institutions, while strengthening the understanding of how digital literacy functions as a powerful catalyst for the transformation of limited resources into a competitive advantage for human resources

Abstract

Generation Z is a generation that grows alongside the rapid development of digital technology, providing wide opportunities for self-development through various paths, including entrepreneurship. However, students' interest in and understanding of entrepreneurship remains relatively low, as their mindset tends to be oriented toward becoming job seekers rather than job creators, a tendency that mirrors the global pattern of rising youth NEET (Not in Employment, Education, or Training) rates. This Community Service Program aims to cultivate an entrepreneurial spirit among students of SMK Negeri 59 Jakarta as an effort to encourage economic independence from an early age, while also addressing the national urgency surrounding the persistently high unemployment rate among vocational school graduates in Indonesia. The activity was carried out using a qualitative descriptive approach through polite and participatory material presentation, interactive discussions, simple business plan simulations using the Business Model Canvas approach, and question-and-answer sessions. The materials covered basic entrepreneurship concepts, entrepreneurial characteristics and mindset, business opportunity identification, simple business model development, digital marketing strategies, and small business financial management. The results show an increase in participants' understanding of the importance of an entrepreneurial spirit, their ability to identify business opportunities in their surrounding environment, and their motivation to start small businesses as a foundation for economic independence. Participants also demonstrated strong enthusiasm in developing creative business ideas based on local potential and digital platforms, along with a growing awareness of basic financial literacy for business sustainability. It is expected that this program will help students build an entrepreneurial mindset, gain the courage to take calculated risks, and be prepared to face future economic challenges independently and sustainably.

Abstract

Financial literacy is a fundamental competency that should be introduced from an early age to develop responsible financial behavior, particularly given the persistently low levels of financial literacy among Indonesian children relative to developed countries and the OECD average. Limited understanding among children regarding the importance of saving and managing pocket money may hinder the formation of positive financial habits in the future, a concern that is also reflected in international assessments of students' financial literacy. Therefore, this Community Service Program (PKM) implemented the "Smart Saving: Transforming Small Habits into Financial Freedom" program for children at Griya Yatim and Dhuafa, Kelapa Dua, Tangerang Regency. The program aimed to improve participants' understanding of financial literacy, the importance of saving from an early age, and their ability to distinguish between needs and wants in daily life. The implementation employed a polite and educational approach consisting of presentations, storytelling, interactive discussions, educational games, question-and-answer sessions, and practical saving activities using piggy banks. Program evaluation was conducted through direct observation of participants' involvement, their ability to answer questions, and their overall responses throughout the activities. The results indicated that participants actively engaged in the program, demonstrated a better understanding of basic financial management concepts, and became more aware of the importance of setting aside part of their pocket money for savings. The distribution of piggy banks also increased participants' motivation to develop sustainable saving habits. Overall, the Smart Saving program proved to be an effective educational medium for fostering financial literacy among children through enjoyable learning methods tailored to their characteristics.
